RicH_87
i saw it last week, it was pretty entertaining, but annoyingly unrealistic.the girls behind us kept screaming and gasping but i found my self laughing out loud at how ridiculous it all was. like when he was surfing on the plane?? i mean what the hell...also i noticed they stole a few scenes from other movies, like jurassic park (the elevator scene), goldeneye (the hacker being left behind) and the plane surfing i'm sure was in an arnie film or something already.worth a watch though. I love the first 3 and one of the reasons is that element of realism, albeit ridiculous realism, but it could happen. Where as this one just seems a bit too over the top... Tomm
With you all the way Dave, me and the missus saw an advanced screening on July 4thIt came out on July 4th. I just went to the normal cinema Yeah, it's cool. Most of it I thought was ace, only the plane bit was annoyingly unrealistic. And I thought it was actually pretty funny, considering it's not a comedy. But yeah, I liked it
PaRtZ
Apart from yippy kay yay mother f**ker there was nothing "Die hard" about it. You could have labelled that film anything and it would have been goodgood to watch though. Bit unreal though....like the plane bit
Rich Pearson
Apart from yippy kay yay mother f**ker there was nothing "Die hard" about it. You could have labelled that film anything and it would have been goodgood to watch though. Bit unreal though....like the plane bitNOTHING DIE HARD??!! Have you SEEN the other films? There was shit loads of intertextual referencing to the other films: The inneffectual agent named Johnson who McClane laughs at is a reference to the two FBI agents from the first film, and there was also an agent Johnson in the third film. Gabriels last lines "Always in the wrong place at the wrong time" is a quote from Die Harder. The continual use of CB radios to converse with both the protagonists and antagonists references all of the previous films. Gabriel's ott way of trying to kill McClane by blowing him up in the gas junction refeneces Hans Gruber blowing the roof of the Nakatomi building to kill McClane and Simon Gruber Blowing up the ship in DHWAV to achieve the same effect. Its supposedly christmas time again. The quote about Mai having an SUV rammed up her ass is what John promised he'd do to Simon Gruber in DHWAV. When Lucy says her name is McClane not Gennero she's referencing a quote from her mother in the first film where she says her name is McClane not Gennero, which connects with the conversation John and Lucy have at the beginning of the film concerning whose name Lucy should use. When Lucy tells John there are only five of them left she references the number counting system John uses tactically against the terrorists in the first film. When John shoots the drivers through the door of the truck it is from almost exactly the same angle as in DHWAV when he shoots the truck drivers. In each film John pics up an accomplice (1: Al Powell 2: Capt Lorenzo 3: Zeus Carver 4: Matt Farrell) whose help John needs but ends up learning something about himself from them and they from him. In the first two films McClane states that he is afraid of flying and in the fourth he says that he took flying lessons to face his fear. Little things are references to the first films aswell like crawling on broken glass, the use of elevators and vent shafts, asking for the e.t.a of a helicopter, etc. They're all there if you look for them Rich

selby1
twas shite for a die hard film to be honest, if it was named something else then i would of liked it more but because of the other films i was expecting it to be more hardcore, to much special effects aswell like when he was surfing the jet but in the long run wasnt all that bad just not worth a fiver.cheers mark.. Waynio
great movie and give you an insight to just how hard/easy something major can be done. just look at 9/11 for instance that was done around a plot similar to that.its amazing nower days how sooooooooo many films are based around so many events that happen in the world, it wouldnt suprise me if a country came under attack through these methods!!!! the one in Die Hard 4 in particular. it just makes people sit there and think.Has to be the best and most action packed film for 2007!!!! better than harry pot head stuff (wizardy thats for sure not real!)If you aint already seen die hard 4 as dave and others have said, go see it, worth every £5/6 it costs to go see it.Wayne.
