br3n
IE, I've never really found anything wrong with it, I don't notice the browser I'm using, just the websites I'm on!I've always had the general impression in the back of my mind that Firefox is meant to be better, but I've never seen the point of complicating my life by messing around with other browsers. I'm reasonably computer-literate as well.thats a fair point but its worth noting all the positive changes in ie7 etc have been because of browsers like firefox creating them in the first place, tabbed browsing for example.(firefox for me)
Fixed Pants™
IE.Tabbed browsing is wank.I could use firefox, but i've got too used to using IE, just can't be bothered. Despite it being made by microsoft, i don't get that many problems, it works, despite it being micro$oft.
Tommy d
Haha tabbed browsing got turned off almost instantly by me! To be honest though I do fear change in general... The same with most computer programs, media player for example, why do they feel the need to completely change it every year just when I have got used to using the interface?! That really annoys me, if it ain't broke don't fix it! How many hours must people spend in total worldwide just working out how to use the new stuff every time it gets changed...Sometimes they do add new features to be fair, but also they seem to lose some of the subtle little aspects of the interface that I really like. Ok must stop ranting!I don't particularly being a slave to Microsoft so I kind of see the independant software side of it, but my view is that if I want a computer that's compatible with most of the stuff in the world then it's gotta be a PC with windows as opposed to a Mac or Linux or something, so I might as well use the software that was designed with it like media player rather than realplayer and IE rather than firefox, cos I know I have no hope of escaping the Micro-domination... Not too pessimistic I hope!
TomR
I use FF because IE caused loads of problems with the new trials-forum board, but now firefox causes flash error in myspace and youtube. Can't f**king win.
poopipe
I use IE because it's already running - why waste resources on another flaky, piece of shit browser when the microsoft one is already raping you?
Fixed Pants™
Media players.First off; I ARE HATE REALPLAYER (quicktime also sucks eggs, as does any other powermad things, always wanting to be your default thing*), it sucks ARSE. Second, WMP is pretty wank too, it's too bustled with shit, i want to be able to listen to music, as and when i want it, not have to wank through a load of album artwork and find the fecking artist etc... iTunes for the win, simply because your music is there, and it doesn't f**k up, because it's not written by the spack sticks at Micro$oft.*The rant continues... I f**king hate Nero, it's a piece of shit, and takes 3 hours to open up, and all you want to do is see a pic, it's also a waste of f**king space, no new comps should come with it. McAfee, OH MY GOD. Worst program ever, it's complete shit and is more of a fanny to remove than chocolate from my favourite white dress.
Louth Trials
i now use firefox, i had loads of pop-ups with IE7, but IE7 is faster for me i don't have the annoying thing of pop-ups.
Tomm
I f**king hate Nero, it's a piece of shit, and takes 3 hours to open up, and all you want to do is see a picWhat are you doing using Nero to look at pictures? I use Nero for burning CDs and it works well.On the subject of FF, I can't live without mouse gestures any more. All the computers I use have them, and if I go on one without, I get really frustrated. So I don't really care much else, FF+mouse gestures is all I need. Fixed Pants™
What are you doing using Nero to look at pictures? I use Nero for burning CDs and it works well.I'm fairly sure it's nero. If not, f**k the thing that i think is nero AND on new computers they're/it's a trial version, which is f**king stupid.

If not, f**k the thing that i think is nero AND on new computers they're/it's a trial version, which is f**king stupid. No, it probably IS nero. You've just got some stupid settings that make pictures open in Nero.Go on my documentsClick tools, folder optionsClick the file types tabScroll down to JPEGWhere it says 'open with', click change. If it comes up, choose 'select program from a list'Then choose Windows Picture and Fax Viewer (or whatever you fancy really)Check the 'always use this program to open this kind of file' box and press OK.You might need to change some file types the same way - E.g. JPEG, JPG (slightly different), BMP, GIF and any others that you are still having trouble with.
Fixed Pants™
Yeah, know all of that, it's just standard with new comps these days, it makes me feel sorry for the people that have to put up with the shit pc world etc shove onto the comp to make it look good.Personally, i can't f**king stand anything taking too long/not being the way i like it, i'm a bit of a perfectionist and it really gets on my tits when things don't work + anger problems to this and it causes some trouble. Before i got an LCD I had a CRT and would punch that as hard as i could (screen) when things froze up, and then when i got an LCD i turnt to my cupboard door and would punch a hole in it each time, and would punch holes if my mum/sister pissed me off. I have a short fuse for things like this.

Tommy d
I did try tabbed browsing for a while (well a few minutes), but it seemed like needless complication. I don't want a million windows open because that will confuse me and confuse my computer, and when I do have several I like to be able to see them all on the task bar with everything else. That and I instinctively resist change...iTunes for the winNah. I don't like it cos I don't like the way that Apple seem to want to take over the world! I hate their .m4a files because the don't play on loads of stuff. I wish everyone would use mp3s and make life simple. And I hate the fact that until you search every corner of the Apple website to find the carefully hidden standalone installation, you can't install quicktime player on its own without getting iTunes too. 531joshua
Tabbed browsing is great!Especially if you want to keep a certain web page you're viewing private from someone around you, as if you you have two windows open, one tab on the task bar will have "porn" in etc, whereas with tabbed browsing, just switch to "trials-forum" or whatever, and it doesn't show in the task bar Oh and, Firefox is the best option in my opinion, simply because of its accessibility in relation to IE, such as add-ons and it isn't 'stuck' to windows. Muel
I love tabbed browsing.I have found a plugin called IE tab, which uses the IE program but from within a firefox tab, allowing me to update from the microsoft website.
JT!
If you actually give tabbed browsing a chance you'll soon realise its 10000000000x better than multiple windows.I don't get tabbed browsing. You going to be using tabs either way, weather they're on your start bar on in one window. Same difference.
br3n
to the guy whos using nero to look at photos.... har har! (right click a jpg, select "open with" choose firefox and tick the always use this program)also, media player isnt very good for anything, a combination of winamp and media player classic would do a much better job at EVERYTHING media player can do.I don't get tabbed browsing. You going to be using tabs either way, weather they're on your start bar on in one window. Same difference. But if you then minimise the window to use other programs, Winamp/Photoshop/Autocad etc etc as a lot of us do... you only have one tab on the start bar for internet browsing, saves you having massive groups and all kinds of shit.. also makes it easier to globally close it. (right click a jpg, select "open with" choose firefox and tick the always use this program)I know that, i'm not a retard with computers And by firefox do you mean window$ pic and fax viewer? It just pisses me off that it comes standard like that, and that a brand new comp is f**ked in the arse with loads of random, shit, power hungry, cuntishly slow opening programs that are only trial versions and badger you to buy the full version.
