BONGO
half the weight, not noticalby weaker, strong enough for bmx, so strong enough for trials.Lose a bit of weight here and a bit of weight there, and suddenly you have lost a fair bit of weight. It's worth it if you want it to be worth it .If you're happy spending the dosh, then they won't let you down.Bongo

Tim-Rodriguez
Yeah I been looking on ebay but v hard to find the correct bolt as its an imperial thread so im not sure if its 3/8 stated on one american website or 5/16 stated by profile uk.Im also changing all the bolts in one go to either ti or alu so save bit weight there and here so should notice the difference.other reason im doing it is because I want to take bike abroad so i dont want to be carrying heavy bike in the box into hotel with huge back pack. AdamR28
Have a shit instead, its free!True, but by having a shit you don't make your bike any lighter!
BONGO
True, but by having a shit you don't make your bike any lighter!Unless you usually shit on your bike and for this specific shit you aim away from it.

poopipe
35 quid is a bag of weed and enough fags, rizlas and snickers to finish it off - is it really worth the half ounce you'll save running them?
Sponge
Could save weight for free by squaring out the holes of front and rear rims, with rounded corners. Not to mention, other cutting/drilling/filing methods that are relatively safe too? Drilled out front sidewalls for disc brake setups up front. Cutting nobbles off tyres too. I'm sure if all of these were done, together they would save a fair bit of weight. Also, modding bashring into a halfring too
JonMack
But the time you spend doing that you might as well just spend £35 on some bolts. It's not that hard to get a bike light anyway, with a tryall front tyre mine would be sub 8 and the only thing I've done is cut the bashplate mounts off my frame, which took about 15 minutes. JonMack
Haha f**k me. Didn't realise it was that much of a bump. The wheel is for sale on ebay at the moment anyway as far as I can tell
