onza boy 46
Currently i have sticky fingers, but because i use my trials for doing my paper round as well as trialing and the tyres wear out quite quick, any ideas what tyres would be good for both? thanks. Rhys Bradford
I've found my maxxis creepy crawlers good for trials and they get my around very well for place to place. Matt Breeze
Maxis creepy crawlers are good for trials, but for not for getting around on, the hevy knobles make it hard work to pedal... maybe the echo tyres, i havent run them before but they seem more riding friendly Matt
Muel
The Echo tyres are a harder compound so a little less grip but won't wear as quick.
matt rushton
The Onza sticky fingers are hardest tyres your going to get if you want to use them for trials aswell.Matt Rushton
Dave Anscombe
ive used most tyres for mod bikes.......stay clear of maxxis creepy crawlers and try all ones as they will wear down fast if your riding around alot........the echo and old monty tyres hve a harder compound wich will last a lot longer than the above.......echo tyres for the win in your case
onza boy 46
thanks for the advice, are they the ones on tarty that are £20 for back and £15 for front? cheers
tom jersey
Just finished with my Try-alls, lasted just under a Year!, are pretty worn out now though. Personally Try-alls are the best for trials but bloody expensive. Just ordered some Maxxis Creppy Crawlers almost twenty pounds cheaper then the Try-alls, thats mainly why i chose them but overall the Try-alls for the pure quality and Maxxis for the quality and the price. My opionion get the Maxxis tyres for trials and get some cheap Tyres for pottering around!
Dave Anscombe
as much as i love try alls and creepy crawlers i must say the monty eagle claws have won it .........ive had two pairs of both maxxis and tryalls......the try alls are amazingly gripy far more grippier than maxxis on natural the maxxis i would say are decent for street monty eagle claws best of both worlds and the rear is 2.6 maxxis and try alls are 2.5 wide.this means with the monty eagle claw you have a little more surface area witch means more gripi would rate them over any mod trials tyre any day those who beg to differ are just simply wrong heheheheheh Edited July 10, 2007 by mrkoxx
dangerous_dave
i have some maxxis hansventures. they were £16 each from tartybikes and you can select different hardness of rubber for the middle and outers of the tire, they work very well for me. Charlie Jennings
Try using a different bike for a paper round its not a good idea using a trials bike.
ManxTrialSpaz
You could always splash out on a pair of shitty wheels, with road tyres on? Might be a bit expensive but the ride will be easier and after a (long) while, you'll also save on tyres!
onza boy 46
i could have used my mountain bike for doing my paper round, until i came off it dowhilling at hemlock stone, completly smashing the front end and bending the back wheel, l ( which really hurt) lol
