poopipe
according to the first aid course i just went on ....a dislocation is a bit like a really big sprain andyou'll now be more likely to dislocate your shoulder than you were before. I'd be extremely careful for a month or so if I were you* * if I were me I'd be off the bike for a week after which I'd go ride and immediately repeat the original injury
Caleb
how'd you do it in?
Tomm
You're supposed to do nothing with it for at least a month, I think. It all depends on how 'bad' the dislocation was. My shoulder dislocates all the time because it's stupid, and it doesn't hurt. But if you really battered it, you need to rest and let it heal. Token
I dislocated my shoulder 2 years back, rested it for a few weeks before doing light circular motion. Definitely don't push yourself to do anything too extreme otherwise it'll come out again but apparently building muscle up around it will really reduce the chance of it coming out again. Best to speak to a physio though.
fredrico
When i first did mine i had to wait 2 weeks, then had 2 weeks of movement exercises and then a month of strength exercises but it depends how bad it is. Second time i popped my ac joint/dislocated my shoulder it took a lot longer to heal/strengthen and is still quite weak. My shoulder now has a permanant step and regularly semi pops out. It really is worth doing the exercises as i half arsed did them which is why my shoulders now pretty much f**ked. But as i said it depends how bad it is. i hope that didnt worry you lol. BONGO
it's not really an aswerable question. It is however a definate sign that you need to build the surrounding musces to prevent it again, as you are much more liekly to have it happene for a seconde time. If you don't build the muscles, you probably will at some point repeat this. If you dobuild muscle, you might not...
