I'd like to know if they are good at taking a few of knocks. I've sort of wrecked my Rohloff. :( and Like to know and info about the way the 74 kings one holds up them been landed on repeatedly (sidehops to the left). If there not I'll make one tmroa. i have some metal and a spare day! =]

I have seen a few on the "homemade tensioner" thread, I mit just borrow a few ideas off that.

I wouldn't recommend the 74 kingz. As Ash says, they are crap unless you only need a miniscule amount of tension. I've had loads of hassle with mine in the last two days and i'm just going to make my own. There's plenty of threads on it and you can make something that suits you, your bike and your wallet. I basically spent £30 on the 74kingz to find out it wasn't up to the job.

P.S Just looked at Ash's link and that modified Rohloff looks excellent. Thats exactly what I need to do to get more wrap on my rear sprocket.

My 74Kingz is BRILLIANT.

I never have to adjust it, keeps perfect tension and is small enough to stay out of the way. Plus I'm only running one springy thing and it hasn't snapped like people say they do.

I sidehop to my left so wouldn't know about knocking it though.

74kingz tensioners are wank for keeping anything other than the slightest bit of tension.

you do realise all the rohloff peices are replaceable yes?

EDIT: bodge the rohloff and make one of these linky

Thats no bodge! It is a very well done modification.
