Sticky!
I have the same problem on my mountain bike .it means you have buckled the teeth. depending on what freewheel you have you can get new teeth for then that should be problem solved
N Roach
If its what i imagine, then its a corse of both the cranks and the freewheel. Which ever cranks forward you are, the chain tends to be tighter and the opposite when your bad foot is forward. This is only due to the drive system bedding in, which is nothing to worry about as all fornt freewheel systems do this, hope i helped.cheersnathan Edited July 4, 2007 by chocolate_bikes
Muel
The reason your tension is tight then loose is that your freewheel is never exactly central on your cranks and your cranks are never exactly central on your BB. There isn't a lot you can do apart from buying CNCed cranks and even then the sprocket on your hub won't be exactly right.

Use some of my cooking oil. lolIf you wanna get validated, put your punctuation in, you write one long sentence that is like 5 lines long. Also try to put your capital letters in. sorry for nagging!Crum...

The most likely reason your having this problem is that your bottom bracket is bent slightly. Its a pritty comman thing to happen to squared tapered bb's
