Grant H
my grinds usually last like 2 months before i grind it again.but i do like them sharp, so i could leave that grind on for longer...i used to use tar, but its nothing like a grind. it doesn't work in the wet too

jsy simtra dan
I run zoo pads with tar on a non grinded rim and it holds fantastically. Was riding the other day in the rain -- not a good idea going down hills -- still had the front disk luckily
JohnBanks
I use grind and tar works a treat. But when the rim gets to smudged with the tar/ to much tar on it I like to clean my rim with white spirit and then reapply the tar seems to work better somehow. Thanks John
trialschallenger
i swore by tar for years its great as long as you got a constant income of itthen i got a grind on my rim and i would never go back to tartar cn often stick in o hotter conditions were as a grind is for all weather uses with minimal problems
Dave Anscombe
i run both setups.......for hot weather i run plazz pads on smoothe rim ....but most of the time i run a light sharp grind on plazzy pads with works verry well and i re grind my rim every 2/3 monthshope this helps............p.s......when i lived in spain i ran only tar.....works a treat

Grant H
hi could sombody explain what grind and tar is im guesing tar is tar of the roads? sorry for being a noob but im intrested loltar off the roads doesnt do much good, roofing tar is what you want tar basically makes the pads stick better to the rim, increasing friction and braking power.a grind is where you use a angle grind and skim the grinding disc along the rim.this increases the surface area that the pads bite into making the brake more powerfull. N.Wood
Your local roofers. If you have a cobbled street nearby, the tar between the cobbles is usually pretty good shit.
