My handle bar grips have now gone completly rubbish.... They have moved further down the bar and keep sliding and losing gripiness. So time for some new ones.... what grips should I get?...... Dont care what color. Just want some grips that are grippy and long lasting. Prices would help please? Thanks Nigel

I don't know if you have them in the UK, but CHORRILLAS are by far the best grips i've ever had. They're a bit pricey but offer incredible grip, are rather hard and thin. Don't advise using them without gloves though, I once literally finished up with blood all over my hands. They're really worth it though.

why dont you go on Tarty Bikes and have a look for yourself and then you wont be generally shouted at my other forum users!

grips are grips... what a stupid question.

it's a perfectly reasonable question. grips are not just grips - unless you insist on wearing armoured motocross gloves in which case you might as well not bother with them at all.

thin grips are good, thick grips are shit, sticky grips are good, hard grips are shit etc. you get the idea

I like s&m dual-ply/team grips because I like my grips smooth, sticky, pretty thin and to last more than a fortnight. bmx shops sell them - they shouldn't cost more than about 6 quid a set.

There's also ODI longnecks, they've been making them for about 20 years so you already know they're good and they last forever- again, bmx shops sell them at sensbile prices.

If you're after foam grips just buy the foam roadie grips from halfords and cut an inch or so off the ends - 5 quid for 4 grips worth and a bit spare can't be bad, even if they do feel like slimy turds when they get wet.

Yea I know of a few people who run these, when they get wet it doesn't take too long to dry out.

They are good grips, they give a nice thickness of the bar to grip, and do not need anything to set them with (so no need to borrow your mother's hairspray).

Plus take into consideration the value of them.

wtf are you on about, just cut them in half, then you get 4 pairs of grips, rather than just 4 grips. ive been doing this for a while. cut in half they are exactly my hand width

But with these grips I want something that is a bit larger than my hand, therefore I can have space along the grip, so it is not exactly the same size as my hand.

Buy rubber grips as standard and they won't be flush with your hand size.

Yeh but its a dumb question to ask, go into a shop, look at them and buy the ones that feel good.. its all personal preference.

I hate the shitty foam ones everyone wanks over, All you'll get from this thread is a load of opinions which have no relevance to what he wants to know.

Thus, in this case... a grip is a grip. whatever you get you'll get used to so it doesnt matter...
