onzaboy89
Rite in my Onza Zoot the bottom bracket is a square taper and measures 127mm axle, the problem is that the drive side crank arm is only 2-3mm away from the chain stay. This results in a score mark appearing on the frame as the frame/ cranks flex. I really dont know what to do as the BB is about the longest i can find. Does anybody have any ideas for this? Cheers Chris
LiamWood!
Are your cranks bent? That maybe why only one side is rubbing on your frame.Liam
Egg Fried Rice
What cranks are they?THe only thing i can think of is ummmnew cranks that come out more or get some shorter ones?JK
onzaboy89
I dont think they are bent. I have taken the BB out and the non drive side is longer than the drive side which is why it rubs only on the drive side. By reducing the crank size from 170mm to 165 would there be a noticeable change in anything? I was thinking about maybe changing the current Onza armstrong cranks for a set of the Echo cranks and external isis BB, unless anyone has any better ideas? Any help would be great. Thanks
RossMcd
You could try taking off the cranks then hitting the bb with a hammer so it moves to one side. This should help as it is what i done when my freewheel was hiting off the bottom bracket. dangerous_dave
if you buy a new bottom bracket, the drive side should be longer than the non drive side to make up for the chainring.

I think you should remove your BB and fit a spacer in between the BB and the BB shell, to move the bb over to the drive side.
onzaboy89
Thanks for all of your help. I have just brought a new BB off Tarty which has the axle offset to the drive side. Hopefully this should cure the problem.
Joe@Onza
Sorry for coming in late, If it still persists, Try using the spacers to make it a 73 Shell, CheersJoe
