I wanted to use other pads on my backings, how did you get them off the previous backings?

I am using heatsink reds in the heatisnk CNC backings and they are pretty immense on a smooth rim. I havent have any problems with snapping the nipples off the maggie though.

Koxx brown material in CNc backings = SWEET!

To get old pad material out of plastic backings just stick the pads in the oven on 200 degrees for about 3 minutes, the material will just pop right out. Most material can then go straight into the CNc backings but I had to do a small bit of knife work on my Koxx Bloxx first.

Grease up the little o ring on the back of the cnc backings that stops it from sticking and breaking

Coust pads are the stuff mines even honk in the soaking wet

Any pad material will fit if not cut it to fit i dont use glue in mine and to melt the glue put it in the oven

1. Has anybody snapped there magura cyclinders by using these backings. They wont brake your cylinders, there qaulity.

2. Is the pad white clear pad material anygood that come free with the cnc'ed backings (lock, hold ect ect...) do you mean snowy's?

if so.. snowy's are really loud, but not the best.

3. Which material is is better out of the clear white material, the red heatsink material or the green coust material

CNC coust pads are by far the best!!

My Rock Blue's didn't impress.

really? i had the red ones ( that were meant to be blues) and they were crap really but i gave the real blue ones another go and they are one of the best pads i have used along with the rimjam's.

To hep answer some of the questions that crop up, I've just written a guide to using the CNCed backings :)

I'm giving away some of my pad making secrets in order to help everyone to get the most out of HeatsinkBikes CNCed Aluminium backings for either Magura or Vee brakes :)

http://www.heatsinkbikes.com/?p=padsguide

Thanks again to Janson for his help. I tried the method he suggested for removing pads from their plastic backings (added to the guide) and it gets my stamp of approval!

I hope this helps!
