24 hour strike from 3am friday to 3am saturday, so saturday post should be as expected

the're barely wankers? were the firemen wankers for striking, or the teachers? they obviously think they are been treated unfairly? can you not see more than one side to an argument instead of been so ignorant?

im sorry to say it, but i know the post men and women are striking for a reason over there pay. but a standard postie earns more than a standard bt engineer, fact. and when you tell everyone you work for bt, its like. ooo, cushy job, good firm, good wage. not going to say its a bad firm to work for. because it isnt. but the work bt engineers do, compared to the work posties do, i know which job is easier. and its also the one that pays the most.

before people say its one sided, im not a bt engineer, i work for bt. and am mates with both posties, and bt engineers.

on similar notes there a lot better payed than a fair few other important jobs.

not anti strike, just think its pathetic, how more strikes dont occur when the pittance some people get payed for what they do.

i kinda agree, but as a 'BT Engineer' i know how vague that title is.

I'm one, and i know posties do a lot more than me. But then i know engineer's who do a lot more than soldiers and firemen!!! I know lads who go up poles in -10, and break the ice in manholes to fix cables, then others who sit at a desk and use a laptop, and they are all still BT engineers on EXACTKY the same pay. (BT pays staff on grades. No matter what job, if you are that grade, you get that wage)

I don't know enough about the strike to comment though!

Bongo

Squadies get less then most jobs and cant strike.

it's no secret when you join though. It's their choice and they know what they're joining up to.

Same with postmen, but obviously somewhere along the line something is being taken away from them i presume, hence the strike??
