ConnorPowell
Wouldn't it be great if some like activision made a bike trials game with people like Neil Tunnicliffe, Tra, cls etc,Basically like the tony hawks games but trials riding. What do you think ? Nick Garland
Its possible on the 360 now with the dev kit they have released to the public. XNA.I would make one if I could be bothered, perhaps as my 3rd year project
Bolty
yes it would be great for us but no other people would buy it so they wouldn't make much a profit.plus it would be hard to make because of all the moves we do and there isn't enough symbols on the control.bolty... I have mtx mototrax for the xbox and while its meant to be a motox game, if you slow right down you can pop it to the rear wheel and even rear wheel gap. I've gapped things, front taps, ups to front. Its all do-able, so making a 3d moto trials game would be well easy. All you'd have to do for a biketrials one would be to have say left stick controlling the bikes balance point, right trigger as pedal tension, a as jump strength, left trigger as the brake. It wouldn't be that hard at all. In fact, i reckon you'd find it hard to find a use for all the buttons on the remote, as trials has a lot less moves than any other biking sport (except downhill/xc maybe)

So they would have to talk to some rider really don't you think? i think that would make it harder to make.ok if there was a trial rider who made games then yes it would possiblebolty......... Danny@phatworks
It wouldn't be that hard to make a trials game really, compared to some of the other things these big companies are doing with video games. bit of research, licensing from the bike companies, motion capture trials moves etc etc.however who would buy it? couple of hundred members off a bike trials forum wouldn't justify the demand for a trials game considering the amount it costs to make a video game.... You think EA knew how different cars handled before making the need for speed games? Its called market research, they have to find out about something before they go and put it in the game.Like has been said though... theres no market for it really so nobody would bother. Maybe in 5 years or so.
Joe Sheehan!
Good idea, but its not going to happen. Ever. The whole reason that Tony Hawks games were a success is because the controls were easy.Trials is a lot more complicated. A lot more. And also, about 75% of the people that bought tony hawks games didnt even skate, it was just a different game that was easy.Im sorry to piss on your bonfire, but its been thought of before. It would only ever work on PC, and that restricts the market even more.
Danny@phatworks
The whole reason that Tony Hawks games were a success is because the controls were easy.Well yes and no. The reason games like Tony Hawks, Matt Hoffman etc are successful is because they are just fast and fun. Trials is a slow, technical and structured sport. It just wouldn't work as a video game and wouldn't entertain people for that long. To us trials riders maybe a little more so then your average Joe, but still would be incredibly boring after an hour or so- if that!

If they could make it accessable to more people then it might sell more.
Trix
I'd rather do the real thing anyways.

I can honestly say i've never seen a gallardo take a corner at 120+mph without sliding and its the same in the game. And yes... i have driven a range of cars like that. Benefit of knowing the photographer at track days at the race tracks
