mike
i've been grinding my rims for aobut 3 years, and i've always taken the wheel off, removed the tire, ground it, put it back together, and then re adjust my wheel. i never tried doing it with the tire and wheel still on don't any of the shards of metal get into the tire?. cheers for the tip, i won't be as hesitant to re-grind my rims now. Krisboats
AN OLD BUMP I KNOW! but why dont you put this on to the neco pads website for people that dont know how to grind rimsBecause I still don't think this video is actually that good. The ambient noise (pond water and loudmouth birds) and my seemingly quiet voice combined with the videos length seem to make it difficult to get across what i was trying to say. I've been meaning to make a grinding video mk2 for a while now, along with other videos (bleeding brakes etc) i just havn't had the time i've been grinding my rims for aobut 3 years, and i've always taken the wheel off, removed the tire, ground it, put it back together, and then re adjust my wheel. i never tried doing it with the tire and wheel still on don't any of the shards of metal get into the tire?. cheers for the tip, i won't be as hesitant to re-grind my rims now. They can do yeah, but you just brush/blow them out of the tyre before putting it all back on and re-inflating. Jitters
Sort of a bump here. Good video there. Thanks for putting that together. Like the others have suggested, I'd seriously consider safety goggles. I've had those fiberglass and stone wheels come apart at 68000rpm and the shrapnel they can produce could destroy your vision forever. Otherwise, top notch! Thanks for sending me the link. dave33
might be best not to load the disc with alloy particals before grinding ehh?
Krisboats
In theory maybe, but in the real world it works better having a point with metal in places rather than a dull disc with no metal. Seeing as most people use the grinder for doing their rims anyway it'll already have metal on it.
