i go down the seafront every saturday night and over to Basildon and watch the skylines drift around the industrial estate. i have never had any trouble with anyone, i go over for a got 5 hours + and i have no trouble, if i have any trouble on a saturdaynight its when i get home just driving through town to get to my place!

Its silly!

No offence mate, but you dont live in southend. I doubt you read the local paper and hear by word of mouth of these things.

:S at this thread.

sweden is pretty damn safe. city i used to live in was the safest place ever, got into trouble once or twice i think, nothing happened. never mugged or jumped there.

now living in gothenburg, there are rougher areas, but nowhere near as bad as it seems over in the UK. i happily walk home at 3 in the morning after being out on town...

Hmm, it's weird, I know Glasgow isn't safe, the amount of fights is ridiculous, the knife culture is HUGE and the supply of guns is increasing too. BUT I still feel perfectly OK to walk home from a night out, even on my own. I think it's really what you're used to rather than how actually dangerous the place is...

Get almost none round here.

Last thing bad that happened was our fence got kicked down by some drunk people. Dad went out, took a couple of sly photos sent 'em to the local police. Police said, ahh these people caused 30 000 worth of damage to a digger at a building site down the road, we have CCTV footage. Took 'em to court, bang, go a few months in jail each. Owned.

My area is sweet as nut, but has some shit areas around it (eg. the notorious Croydon/Fat Pant's house) but i have to go through said shit places to get to other decent places, like work.

Croydon is'nt that bad is it? I stayed there for a weekend recently and it seemed fine, did'nt really see any trouble, any violence, nothing really.

My areas not violent or anything, it's just an absolute doss hole. Kids sat round drinking cider ect then smashing the bottles, a while ago we had a load of trouble with gangs comming from other towns to fight on our main play area in kirkby. Was right bad, they where hiding crowbars under fun boxes on the skate park, preety sick when you went riding the next night and theyd be blood all over floor throughout the town. Aparently someone got stabbed in the cheast, survived ect, just lost alot of blood. It's quite disturbing.

Most of the violence ect round here is from the older generation! like you 30-40 year olds, who basically get there dole money, split it 7, then take a split of that to pub everynight. I was started on once by a bloke, ALOT older then me, same height, just abit broader. Absolutley shit myself. If it wassomeone near my age I wouldn't have been so worried, but this was a full grown adult smacking me round the head (had me helmet on). Could'nt make out a word he was saying because he was just so lashed. Still f**king hurt.

we have a few c**ts but we've kinda sorted our differences lately. they used to always start on us, jump my mates and stuff, but they ended up starting on the wrong person and were all about to get a good whooopin so they stopped giving us shit and now we're alright with em.

i know how you feel Tom, i am constantly confronted by older.... well men! due to me being around 6ft and not exactly the skiniest twig in the tree i seem to be a target for some reason, i suppose because i look older than i am! really does fustrate me!

but i think situations like that change the way i am with other people who try to start trouble, say one night i will be confronted by a 30+ year old man towering over me with tattoos all over his body which will really shit me up and the next night i will be started on my some scally 16 year old, who i really dont have any time for and am really not concerned about!

For example a few months back just before i left school there swas some stupid skanky lad, you know the type who think they are all big n ard, when they really are just a stupid ingrate who think's they are hard, you know the type which come up to your school when you all come out because they have nothing better to do with thier tax evading scummy lives, was giving this really nice lad a hard time, then run over and started pumbling him in the head purley because of the way he dresed. i walked over to him, although he was older i was a fair bit bigger than him and i walked over and just went with some thing along the lines of "this isnt called for now is it?" and he was kind of dased at the fact some one had actually told him to stop what he was doing instead of just standing and watching and he looked at me, i said some thing along the lines of is it now. Now with a bruised ego this kid was like " what you want some do you" and all this crap to which i replied with " your embarasing yourself, go home" and he got absoloutley ridiculed, because he really was looking stupid! but i just thought.... I am getting chased down the M2 buy 30 year old lads in Audis, getting threatened from fully grown men! what is a silly 17 year old lad going to do... he is nothing,i just dont have time for these kinds of prople, and if i can give one a kick in the nuts purley by embarasing them and making them look like a reject, i will! Much like anyone else on here would i expect!

Now i hope when im in the smelly stuff some one helps me out! haha

Ohhh it is, it's like one of the places they hang around... Looking for people that they can 'move to' (means either to go chat up a girl or go mug someone off) and applies in both contexts. It's probably worst at nightish in the town centre thing...

That the one near TGI Fridays? Near a big-ish complex with casino etc in it?

If so, that part isn't too bad.

There are some cocks round there, but is a weird area as the Webb Estate (one of the richest areas in the UK, all ÂŁ3m+ houses) is just down the road, then very nearby is Purley which is fine but has some really shitty bits with dodgy industrial estates n shit.

As for Croydon.... The only time i go there is Sunday mornings pretty much.

Yeah thats the one. I thoguht it seemed a preety ok area, The dual carrige way that goes down the front of it housed some preety awsome races thou while we where walking back from the pub, A cossie and a M3 had a race down there, was awsome to wach the Cossie absolutley smight it. You should go to the pub over from TGI , The Gypsy Moth or something, go in there and have a chicken and bacon pie. best pie. EVER

the other week i was started on and chased down the M2 by 3 turks in a Audi... because i looked at them? And when i say looked at them, i purely looked out of my window into thiers and i was chassed flat out down the M2, this isnt right is it?

Aren't you 15? How can you drive?

Well, I live in Shelf which is an alright village I guess, in Halifax but it's the Bradford side. As you'll probably know, the Bradford riots were back in Summer '01. Bradford city center is really shit I think. I know there are loads of nice places in Bradford district 'cos it's a huge one, but center is just awful. Really violent I get the impression of.

Someone always wanting to start a fight with you, and ethnicity usually comes into play. "You lookin at me 'cos im asian? you want some white boi?" and such.

Halifax is shit. Pretty violoent. Me and a few mates got jumped a few months ago after being out on the lash at 5am by some Chavs. I was too wasted to spell my name let alone say anything aggressive, so from what my mates tell me they just started on us for no reason.

I don't really remember much from 10pm onwards 'cos I was that hammered (which is a first actually) but apparently we got jumped by ~12 chavs. I got hit 3 times in the face then went down and cracked my head on the floor. Knocked unconscious for 15mins so my mates phoned cops and ambulance but I just sprung back to life soon enough like nothing happened so we got a taxi.

My head was f**ked for a week after with this huge cut and my shoulders hurt a bit.

Meh.

England is shit, don't you think? That's why I'm looking at moving to America or Canada after university.
