Cut a long story short... 3 Are shit :P

Im on an 18 month Contract..and got like 4-5 months left... But i actually cant take it anymore lol.

Someone said that if i go to somewhere like Carphone warehouse, and changed to a diffrent network/phone with them, and took out a contract with them, that they would pay off the rest of my contract??

But im sceptical..if i had like a month left..yer...but i cant see them paying 4-5x £35 a month bills??

I dont know..

Bascially has anyone done this before??

and before someone sais, go instore and ask them... No ...its raining outside :P

yeah you can drop the 3 contract to the lowest of the lowest tariff, then do what you say. (they did it all for me in the shop)

I did last year and went to a new contract early.

Ive dropped the tarriff with 3 before and they charge you do so, and u only go down one tariff at a time though :(

Bit off topic but I want to cancel my old Orange contract. Its well over the 18 month period now and I phoned them up... But I get the recorded message asking me to enter the 5th letter of my password and then the 10th... Thing is, I can't remember my password so I can't talk to a member of orange on the phone to cancelmy contract! Anyone know a number where I can talk to a member of staff instead of a frigging recorded message or maybe suggest a way to cancel my phone without my password as I really can't remember what it is...

Cheers

You can't just cancel a contract, thats why they call it a contract, lol. Basically they've got you buy the bollocks.

What you need to do is lower it and lower it tarrif wise and they'll soon be on the phone to you offering free stuff...decline it all. Then when the tarriff is low enough you can end it and buy the phone from your provider.

I want to do this with orange, but to buy my phone from them will cost me £250, so its simply not worth it.

It works the same way with 'free upgrades' you give your phone back to the shop (if its a non-highstreet store) they repair it all and sell it on, they cancel your contract for you (£50) and then get a new one with a newer phone, therefore they sell your old phone making a nice little profit on your cancellation.

anzo, i think it's only orange that you have to buy the phone from. There may be clauses built into some other contracts about having to leave it at a certain minimum payment for 3 months or so, before you can reduce it, but generally all other operators you keep the phone, no questions.

Talking of which i think my contracts up for renewal, hmmm wonder what i can get free lol.

Carphone Warehouse will do almost anything to get your business. They work on commission, I wouldn't be surprised if the phone sellers bent over and let you shaft them in exchange for your signature. Anyway, the point I'm making is that they might like to buy you out of your current contract, especially if they could make a deal with 3, and pay less than you would.
