*PHIL*
Alright there.I just got a Samsung VP-D361 Mini DV Camcorder and it didnt come with a usb/firewire cable.I was wonderin if it would work if i connected it to my pc using a standard 4pin - firewire mini dv cable? It has the right port on the cameraBasically, do these standard cables work with any camcorder or do i need a specific one? if not whats the best way of getting the data to my pc?ThanksFisheye
PaRtZ
if you mean this:then the answer is yes. BUT your computer has to have a firewire port too. My laptop has a 4pin firewier socket but my desktop has a 6pin firewire socket; either way it works. All you do is plug it in, and then you have to open your movie editor, click capture or similar, play (or preview) the tape and press capture on your computervery simple to use. *PHIL*
Ok so i have the Samsung VP-D361 Mini DV camera and it is showing an error icon onscreen.it is an eject symbol with a c next to it. this is the second VP-D361 ive had in the past week as the last one had the same error except with a D instead of a C after the eject symbol.the manual says if these show up the camera has a mechanical error and you need to contact a dealer.anyone know anything about this? just checking as its the second time its happened but its probably just the ebay shop selling broken stuff. PaRtZ
Mine used to do that a while ago (panasonic NV-DS60) I googled it and some people said you just got to take it to bits and push down on the contact points/tabs things and give the heads a quick clean. So i did that and it surprisingly worked tooYou may need to clean the heads too using a head cleaning tape. You can get these at your local camera shop and are about £4 ish
