Has anyone seen my shoe?
Eating small amounts constantly throughout the day means your metabolism is always working.
Trebor
I think the best solutions are often the easiest. I.e. the more radical the changes that you make to your diet the harder they are to stick at.What's your average menu for the day?
TomN
Have 6 small meals a day. Food such as chicken, nuts, fruits, wholemeal stuff etc.
Tommy d
From my experiences this year (1st year at uni) here's my student guide to low effort healthy foods.http://www.pagen.com/standard.asp?id=110Get some of those bad boys. They're very healthy, cheap, and tasty just as biscuits (often used as my food rations on long rides), or with stuff on them. They are also incredibly loud when you crunch them in your mouth Mega-healthy but slightly odd meal you can make with them: Krisprolls + cucumber + tinned sardines in tomato stuff. Sounds odd, looks odd, tastes good.Put chick peas in random meals, they're cheap and healthy and very quick to cook. Easy meal = Asda smart price Irish Stew + Chick peas. Looks like sick but tastes good. Hmm why do all my low effort meals look so rank?!If you have a smoothie maker/liquidiser:Ice cream + banana + random fruit of your choice i.e. strawberries, grapes, nectarines, whatever. Ice cream isn't really that unhealthy... You can also add spirits for party smoothies.Breakfast = Shreddies + raisins. Can't really be bothered to think of more. If you think my ideas are not awful maybe I will...
-RoBBo-
Just eat what you want. As long as you do enough exercise to burn it off. Can't go wrong....win win situation
Fish-Finger-er
depends what you want to do, if you wanna lose weight, while ending up lookin rather ripped, i suggest a diet similar to this, which is wat i followed between march 20th and may 31st(while having the weekends as cheat days, and occasionally gettin absolutlly trashed, so wasnt like a no drinking, no fun diet), however had 2 weeks in bristol last week an week before, where i was eating fry ups for breakfast, fatty tesco pasta salads for break, sandwiches, and chippy for lunch, fried food for tea, about 10 pints, and then a kebab, on top of eatin sweets, chocolate and crisps throughout the day. now im back on it, and going to see how quick the results happen. (last time it took me 9 weeks to go from 15 stone 10, to 14stone, and id say i gained muscle in that time, arms got bigger, chest got bigger, i got generally stronger). so my regime.7am start,7.25am 55g of whey protein(90% +), 1 pint of semi skimmed milk. 10 am one slice of toast, buttered. 12.30pm 2 slices of toast, buttered. 4pm, work out, weights only, no cardio. 6.30 pm, 55g of whey protein(90% +), pint of semi skimmed milk8pm, can of baxters highland game/lamb/beef broth etc soup. 3 slices of bread.anywhere between 3.5-6 litres of fluid a dayworked for me, and is a diet which is perfectly good to eat,and can maintain, rather than a 2 week starvation diet. but sure you could make it healthier, but with me, was losing weight as fast as was healthy anyway.any more would of been vergin on eating into muscle, which is a false economy. with the 2 weeks of kebabs, fried food, drinkin, not exercisin etc, im now at 15stone,lets see how long it takes me to hit 13 st 7(altho im drinkin this weekend, and will be back in bristol in a months time for another 2 weeks, so well isnt gunna happen i dont thnk)

Si-man
Im starting to do this for summer.Im doing a shit load of distance riding, like 20-30 miles in a few hours, pace yourself, always using the high gears and pushing hard with me calves (lost half a stone in a week and gained size in me calves)eating tuna salad/ variation butties at work on brown barm, with about a litre of water.apple or bannanaThrough the day though i sweat so much since the mould shop is that hot i can easily go through 5 or 6 litres of water in around 8 hours without even doing much work lol.Up to you what you do, im doin that and its making me feel better and not feel bleh lol
James
Seariously mate, eat anything you want in moderation. (obv not kebabs and lard sandwhiches etc..)I had an operation on my foot a week ago and am required to be in bed for 2 weeks. As i have put on weight over the course of the last 6 or so months at uni and it wasnt making me feel paticularily good about myself I decided to see what i could do about this while i had an 'excuse' not to drink. Now you might think, you're not gonna loose weight while lying in bed but seriously, ive been eating 2 square meals a day, usually a salad for lunch, and a decent meal for dinner and a bowl of cereal before bed or something with.. and this is the clincher.. NO SNACKING IN BETWEEN (if you do have to fill a hole, have a banana or a glass of milk) and in just over a week ive lost about 2 1/2, 3 pounds. I also do about 100 sit ups in bed becuase im bored. All this coupled with the no drinking and i look and feel a shit load better, just try it man. basically my advice is no snacking!gud luck! BONGO
You see, the problem with asking people a queation like this that don't have a clue about nutrition, is that you get answers that are bollocks a lot of the time.If you spend the day eating pasta and potato's, sure, they have no fat, but they are packed with carbs. If you don't exercise, mark my words, you'll et even fatter. The best thing to do is eat anything you want, but in moderation. Have a rough work ou as to how many grams of carbs and fat you eat on an average day. Apparently us men are meant to be round 90grams per day of fat. You might be on 150grams lets say, so drop it down.try to get it to 70 or 80, and around double that for the carbs.More importantly though is exercise. When my knee works, i can eat as much shite as i want, but with my daily riding i never put weight on and i'm as fit as ever. Exercise is what'll shed the weight more than the food. So both, is the best thing to do.Bongo

So both, is the best thing to do.I agree - I've eaten shit for a lot of my life and never got fat. I started to get the slightest shadow of a gut when I stopped riding my bike as much. Luckily I still get lots of exercise, but I always get irritated when I hear fat girls from work in the lift saying they've 'been good' this weekend as they only ate (what sounds like) rabbit food. Too many people get too little exercise. They queue for a bus to do a 1.5 mile journey home from work when it's sunny and the only thing to get back for is the Weakest Link... ScotchDave
Well, my best tip is don't buy biscuits or anything snacky, if it's around you WILL eat it. My normal day is: breakfast=banana or other fruit, lunch=sandwich or cold pizza slice and tea=cous cous with fish, or some sort of meat type thing.I'm losing weight right now as far as I can tell, while getting f**k all exercise...Dave
Alan
I pretty much what i want when i want, get a shit load of exercise, riding, walking, general running and messing about and i don't have any fat on mei havnt stuck to certain times for meals, types of food, or specific(sp?) exercise regeims(sp?), as long as your not constantly eating loads of shite(kebabs, chips and drinking loads of coke day-in day-out), drink lots of water and get alot of exercise you'll soon start losing weight/toning up. Hendrix
MATT!You're not fat! Not from what I've seen......are you sure it's just not a beer gut ? After all - thats what happens to most of us after a good fest !BUT - if you are, and I didn't see it.Eat Salad - don't eat chocolate ... don't binge eat (oh my god!) and trial bike
Dr. Nick Riviera
oh my god hav lyke 10 eggs for evry mela, its all protine so ul gt well broly. alternatively, i can't really find much fault with what bongo said.steer clear of salads as a meal unless you enjoy them, eating well shouldn't be a chore. eat things you like, but in lesser amounts. otherwise if you eat lettuce for a week, you might end up gorging on steak or something.and lots of water, lots and lots of water. Fish-Finger-er
f**k that i eat loads in kinda chubby, joe bullys me, but sodd not eating what i wanna!yea but on the same thing, im eating stuff i like(and i really like chocolate protein shakes, to the point where there one of my favourite foodstuffs), just not much of the other stuff. dont get me wrong, say on the weekend ill have fresh fish and some rice, or fresh chicken and something. but its all stuff i like, just restrictin it down. also the way i look at it is, i go out, i drink what i want, and pull(reasonably often anyway). i could eat loadsa crap, feel like crap all day, go out on the weekends, and never pull cos im a fat f*ck, or i could restrict what i eat so im at a sensible weight(or at least will be in a few weeks) but still eat food i like, feel good and healthy all day, not constantly look at myself thinkin im a bit chubby. and get the pleasure fat people get from eating food during the week, by "eating out " at the weekends - so to speak. Tom Booth
and lots of water, lots and lots of water.Word. I started to drink water alot more a few weeks ago, and I really feel the benifit of it now. I admit I sweat alot more, but in light of how much better I feel its worth it. I feel alot better throught out the day, and all I did was start to drink the recomended water amounts a day.
