t33zr
Is the scratch from the chain normal to have there?? (on the inside of the tube there) ive ridden my zoo frame for 2 days, and it looks bad... Edited June 15, 2007 by t33zr
Ash-Kennard
looks like your bb is too wide or your chainline is bad and your unlubed chain has worn into the frame, you must have been riding it alot in 2days to do that

Matthew_Gibson
Put some tape or some hose pipe.Dubelee (sp) clip a piece of metal , should be good.
Dan6061
This happened to my mate with his 4X bike.He actually wore a hole in the frame..which then cracked, and snapped. - And that was from the tyre! similar... >_< Tape would do nothing really, if a rubber tyre constantly brushing past wore a hole in a metal frame, then a chain would tear through tape no problem!Your best bet is to do what Ash said, and get a narrower BB. Does look like your chain line is terrible, causing the chain to rub on it really badly!Thinking about it, what chain are you running? Could perhaps try a narrower one? Greetings
Had a profile with a 128mm bb on my old Python and the chainline was really bad, it also dug into the frame. Ended up using a 113mm bb which solved the problem.Make sure your cranks have enough clearance before getting a narrow bb.Or you could use two chain tensioners on the drive side and a chain tug on the non drive side? You'd need to dish the wheel to the right though
Ryan Blackwell
I have the exact problem on my zona zip but mine seems twice as bad.Running middleburns and a rear freehweel so that probly the problem.
David20
That happened to my old echo aswell, don't worry bout it, it didn't get much worse, not sure if it's happened on my zoo, I'll have a check. Jsy Ben
My Black Mumba did this, my XTP did it and my Triton does it too.In my experience of trying to fix this its a hard problem to overcome, unless your lucky enough to be able to move your chain line a good 5-10mm. Personally i never worried about it, i ride reasonably harsh in terms of my level of riding and this problem has never been the downfall of any of my mod frames. Oskar
that frame looks like its 6 months old or something.... and it is 2 days old hahaha
Deonn h
Carnt understand why its doing that i had that same frame with an echo 127mm bb i think and it was fine.
The Duck
My chainline is way out too (I also have an '07 python)... Don't think its doing that though!
Clarky
kyle had this problem with a 26" adamant, it wore a hole through the frame, it did'nt snap though...
The Duck
Just looked at mine, the chain line is miles out of the way when i'm using either a freewheel and a fixed sprocket or a fixed sprocket and freehub. Only thing i can think is that where the try-all hub's sprocket threads are reeeeeeeealy close to the frame... A bit confusing for my tiny mind anyway... totaltrials
It does look like you are running quite a large cog on the hub with such a high straight mark, a smaller rear cog would do away with the problem aswell as running a shorter BB, what gear ratio are you running? Although this might not be the case at all, it still may rub so..Are you running a hugely wide chain? Are you running snail cams? If not you may be squashing the dropouts together to fit the hub. What Inur said seems to be the best solution.Phil.
