    Hope Hubs

Pretty sure they have a 1 year warranty, but they'll help you out no matter how old the hub is. Generally you just send the wheel off to them and they fix it and send it back. It's worth phoning/emailing them first though. I just sent off a 2 year old Hope XC and got charged £20 for them to fit new axle, pawls and bearings. Considering they're sending it by a courier back to me (£10ish worth) it's a pretty good deal. I suspect if the hub had been in better condition they wouldn't have charged me. I've certainly had disc brakes serviced/new parts fitted for free. Jon
  3. Someone is running a 2.7 maxxis in theirs so they must fit. Not sure about forks having clearance... will have to see. It's somewhat overkill on the front, but i don't care. I've heard the kenesis forks are light-weight xc ones... not sure what abuse they'd stand. Let us know how the ashton copies are. Jon
  4. Bikedockonline (on ebay) do quite cheap 2.4 Maxxis High Rollers. I've picked up a pair for £27 posted. They might be too big for the streetier people, but I like fat tyres. Jon
  5. Probably best to scrap that list then: The "XC 717" isn't on that list... although Mavic claim it to be 538.5mm (They're probably the same rim, but in their wisdom Mavic list them as different ones on their site) Jon
  6. Mavic ERD's from the dealer site: Make sure you get the right one since Mavic seem particularly bad at naming their rims something sensible... Cross Country X717: 538.5mm X517: 537.5mm X618: 538.5mm 217: 537mm 217 D: 538mm X317 :538.5mm Cross Mountain XM819: 532mm XM719: 536mm XM517: 538mm XM117: 540mm X3.1 : 532mm F519 : 536mm Extreme MTB EX721: 532mm D521 : 532mm 121 : 541mm XM321: 536mm EX729:534.5mm D321:534.5mm
  7. 1. Use Google to search for 'home anodizing' 2. Realise it's probably too hazardous for someone with your intuition. 3. Use Yellow pages to search for 'anodizing' and 'electroplating' 4. Get a professional to do it.

  9. If you're getting a new rim then when don't you take the old wheel apart so you can measure the damn thing? (It's really not hard to measure while it's build though...) When you order the new rim ask them what the ERD is. If it's much different to your current rim then you'll need new spokes. Jon

  11. Thank you Can I be cheeky and ask for an 'Old Man' one too? Jon
  12. There's a lot here I'd severely doubt the weight of the T-Lite bring 1.58lb. That's less than most forks. How about 1.58kg? Jon
  13. Who? Slingshot and Danny Butler don't count. Word came to me that it'll be a while before they're out yet. Stick with Plaz or bloxx for now. Jon
  14. That's fair enough, but abusive/unsolicited phone calls are w whole new ball games altogether. Vigilantism isn't the way forward. Jon
  15. Sort it out off the forum... I've bought off Sam with zero problems. Jon
  16. FFS give Joe a break. There's this thing called Easter... most people don't work through it. Get over it. You want the moon on a stick don't you. Jon
  17. Good one ;) Royalties maybe? Jon
  18. My guess is he's sick of the PM's about it cos people are too stupid to read the FAQ's properly... Damon Rinards Spocalc is good. Just check the ERD's first as Mavic are funny about which one they quote. Jon
  19. Pretty sure this is right: BULB/F519 (32H 3 Cross) NDS: 260mm DS: 262mm (36H 3 Cross) NDS: 258mm DS: 258mm You need the check the ERD of the rim - measure from one spoke hole to the opposite one. I used 537mm for the calculation. I've no idea on the Profile/Koxx. Jon
