  1. They're a similar price to Hopes, but lighter. In my experience they're just as durable. Jon
  2. You can wiggle the pistons? or the pads? If you can wiggle the pistons, there should be oil pissing everywhere. If it's the pads then check the locating tabs are in tact and stop worrying. Jon
  3. Slave Cylinders aren't user servicable. The seals can go on them, but it's quite unlikely. You'd also notice a loss of fluid. Take the pads off and see if there is oil on the back of them. Try and find out where the noise is coming from - for something to make a noise like you describe, you should be able to see play in something. What do you mean by there is play in the pistons? Maguras can make a thud when the pad contacts with the rim, particularly if the wheel isn't moving at the time. Jon
  4. For which braided hosing? The Magura braided hosing has a built in olive which I guess you have to reuse. Mine are going strong 5 years down the line. I can't remember what the Unex hosing has as I only used them for a short period of time as I wasn't happy with them. Jon
  5. Yeah. Funnily enough it wasn't to do with frame failures. Jon
  6. Can't remember the shell size... Axle wise, I'm running a 113mm and it's fine. Jon
  7. To be honest, I'd be happier if Brant had nothing to do with the trials community ever again. I know another 24" frame would be nice, but hopefully Onza will fill the niche in the market. Jon
  8. If I were you, I'd give yourself more than 6 days to sort it out... Get a bike box and pack it up. Phone the airline to find out their policy on oversize luggage. Try claiming that it's your inline wheelchair and draw a disabled/wheelchair symbol on the side of the box. Jon
  9. Touche. Nor does taking one apart with a screwdriver.
  10. I've seen Davidz of tartybikes take a king apart with his bare hands... Jon
  11. Do you know the people from Corrado? I'm needing my frame welded and was told corrado/abbey cycles could do it for me. email me/add me to MSN - address in my profile. Cheers Jon
  12. Clive is very funny about Fun Bolts. I talked to him for ages about getting mine to fit, but to be honest I don't think he was interested. You'll probably need to run the QR inserts in the HD axle and use a standard skewer. Jon
  13. There were 5 or 6 riders out from Southport. I should be out (weather permitting) on Sunday. Jon
  14. I don't think there's a lot between them weight-wise. Leeson's aren't as light as you think :P Jon
  15. It did... just you and adam didn't get out. We rode Seaforth on Sunday. Like lee says, I'm sure people will be out this weekend too. Jon
  16. My trusty £13 Truvative BB is nearing the end of it's life. I bought a replacement for it (another Truvative) but it wont fit properly in my frame - the new BB has a lip on it which the BB cup sits against. Because of the lip, the outer diameter of the BB is larger than before and it wont fit into the BB Shell. Obviously it clears the threads, but there's some other crap in there, probably weld from the seat/downtube. What's the best/easiest way to remove it? I'm guessing the dremel will be the easiest way to make it fit... Or should I be using this as an excuse to ditch the Middleburns and fit XTR cranks? Jon
  17. Alas, it didn't kill you though, which is the claim you're making. Jon
  18. I was going to head down to town, but it's pissing it down here... Might be out later though. Jon
  19. Crows foot isn't a good pattern to start with. Try 3x for your first build and go from there. 3 leading/3 trailing is probably a good one to attempt after that. Look on sheldon browns wheel building page for more info/links. Jon
  20. Errr.. Has anyone decided what day this ride is yet? Meeting where? Time? Jon
  21. Damn. I'm in Derby preparing for a rally tonight... Next time >_< Jon
  22. Linkage Hours of fun... or torture depending on how good you are. Jon
  23. I'm hoping to start comps again on my 24" but I'm wondering what the rules actually are? As far as I was aware, stock was classified on outside tyre diameter - hence why monty could use a '25"' on their stock bike. My 24" tyres are only a tiny bit smaller than a normal trials tyre, and certainly as high as the xc tyres on my other bike. Anyone who actually knows or has a copy of the rules in writing care to enlighten me? The ACU book I have doesn't refer to the spec of the bikes so I guess it must be set by the BUI/UCI and regulated by biketrial-uk. Jon
  24. I'm liking that (Y) Bring it on. Jon
  25. I'm well aware of that. You were the one who mentioned Matt b. Hence me wondering the relavence. How am I supposed to know who you're talking about if you don't read your posts to check that they read properly and make sense. Jon
