  1. If you saw the state of the forum before NMC you'd realise why the measures are in place. Jon
  2. They look like the OE ones - 60a hardness which is hard wearing and not as grippy. Tread pattern is the same though. Jon
  3. I did it to make a rear 160mm avid into a front 185mm. I didn't look at longer bolts as there was plenty of thread already. Best check though. Let us know how the juicy goes - I'm pretty tempted by one myself if I can't fix the Louise Tic's sending me... Jon
  4. Try some ceramic specific pads, or stick some brown koxx bloxx material into the heatsink backings. Jon
  5. I'm not sure on the distances of the mounts from the axle, but if you're running an Avid, you should be able to add a couple of washers onto the postmount adapter to make it an IS fit. (IIRC the screwed up ashtons needed a disc 2-3mm smaller) Jon
  6. The warranty is between you and the people you bought them from... nothing to do with Phil. He may help you out, but you need to get hold of Tim. I'm sure his contact details will be on your receipt. Jon
  7. Only people who've never used an Avid Ultimate. Pad choice is more critical than brake choice IMO Jon
  8. The frame builders I talked to in Liverpool quoted me £40 to repair and gusset a hairline cracked toptube. I've not got it done yet, but they did say the frame must not be ridden for at least 2 weeks after the welding has been done otherwise it'll be too weak. Jon
  9. Frequent disconnection is a sign that the signal is weak Try changing the channel and also check the aeriels are pointing in the same direction, but not towards each other - like this: I I Moving furiture around can affect the signal significantly. Jon
  10. Nice bike! Looks pretty familiar! It was around 1040 with pash forks when I had it. Jon
  11. Doesn't look bad, but what are you comparing it to?
  12. It was already a shite topic. The guy who posted it obviously has no real interest in it otherwise he'd have been back to the thread to see what people really thought.
  13. Do you get anything on the screen before the flashing cursor? ie something like this:
  14. I managed to miss all the hype so just went along expecting a pretty normal film. It was too long for my liking - I was expecting an average 120 min film, and there was a lot of crap in the first half I thought. All in all I really enjoyed it. Jon
  15. Jon's top tip: Just use Brass nipples like the rest of the planet
  16. Post a new topic when you actually have some pics...

  18. Either look after your phone better, or accept the fact that you're hamfisted and take out company x's extended warranty thing. My 5140 has been fine, as was my 5100 before that. Jon
  19. If you're going to drain your brake I'd suggest you replace any water that's in any vessels/pipes in your house with oil too. You might come back and find your cold (and hot!) water pipes have frozen Jon
  20. Looks to me like you're not going to get any better information than that. Feel free to repost as/when there's something more than a friend's dog's brother's mum's sisters 'information'
