Well the idea was to build it up and sell it on. I still have the lovely Ozonys, but this onza just suits me perfect, feel so comfatable. But its nearly time for me to buy a car so I mite have to sell it to top up the bank. Rie soon Steve! Nathan
I really dont know. I havent ridden another 20" yet to tell the difference. One thing that really seems easy on this bike is flicking to back wheel, maybe due to the added weight at the back. Video is on its way.
Thanks for the comments! I like to be different, personally I love the chain stays and that is all that counts. Hey Neil, Yes im looking for some new rims. Mine are nearly 8 months old + I had a bad fall off at Portland the sunday before last and bent/flat spotted my front wheel. The 26" is still 100% fine but would ride nicer with some round wheels Hopefully ride soon! Nathan
I used the vp one pedals today. The pins dont rip out, they have good grip, quite light and are smooth. I can't think of anything more you can ask for. I would recommend them for your troubles.
Evening, Just finished building this. Big Thanks to tartyBikes for a few parts and for the great service/advice. Also another Thanks to my good mate who spray the frame(You know who you are.) I am soo happy with the outcome. The bike is extremely nice to ride, flicky and easy. I have a before picture to show how much work I have put into cleaning it up. I have taken most of the mounts of because the previous user had smashed them bad. Also used the dremel on the headtube, to save abit of weight. Enjoy! Before makeover: After Makeover: Nathan
Yes, the wheelbase is the distance from the centre of the front axle to the centre of the rear axle. If you have a mod (20" bike) then a 1010 wheelbase is pretty medium (start at 990 and go on to 1050). If you have a stock with a wheelbase of 1065, then that has a pretty short wheelbase. With 26" bikes a good medium wheel base is 1085. (start at 1060 and go to 1100)
Hey, I have stripped down a frame to raw metal. I am thinking of keeping it this way. I would like to know how to create the surface effect that frames such as echo lite, team and control have. It's like a silver brushed effect. I am guessing I would need some type of buffing disk to create the lines and then just put a laquer on top...? Im also look for a topic, where someone has stripped down a 20" czar and smoothed the welds off etc made it 1.7kg. Would be most appreciated if someone could find it. I have looked and looked! Any help would be great. Nathan
I was in the same boat as you. You only appreciate how fun mods are when you have ridden a stock for a while. So I decided to build a mod up over time. Should be finished soon. Cant wait!! edit: that probably didnt help... Just go with what you feel would be more enjoyable. At the end of the day, you ride to have fun, if a mod makes you feel better, go for it!!!
Hey, Here's a few clips I collected after the comp at Lee Quarry, last Sunday. About a minute long, nothing to big, was only 30 mins riding before a long 5 hour journey home. Enjoy , Nathan Coward Video 2 http://vimeo.com/1364809 Nathan db designs
I really like that for some reason. I'm happy your back on a mod! I think you suit it much better. Your mod videos are always cheerful and stylish, I look forward to your next one Nathan
