  1. ACS Claws are pretty cool. You'll need to whip off the front plate using a pin tool/hammer+screwdriver, threadlok the threads and then slap the minx back on. You probably won't need to regrease it. Anyway, you might have to grind down the remover tabs on the outer plate because they stick out as opposed to being internal a la the Dicta. This sucks ass because it's just fiddly, and I've gotta do it now too even THOUGH I bought a new BB*. Good freewheels when they stick on right :- Mark. *But I got a 73x127.5 instead of a 68x127.5 which I needed.
  2. When the headtube stops coming off, e.g.: Dunno when that'll be. Probably summer next year. But it was supposed to be out in July '03 or '02 or summat. I'll letcha know. Mark.
  3. Don't think they are doing them drilled now due to warranty shiiiiiiiiiiiiit. But they might be. Expect to pay a bit more than usual for the rims, so for example a bit more than £18.50 for the back rim. They'll look like normal rims - but with holes. So just put tippex blobs on your rims and use your imagination :- Mark.
  4. On bike, with the Pazzaz CF stem which isn't the one you get for the £50 deal.
  5. ...are shit. I really don't like mine, I wish I'd gone for the V8's. They're not that grippy, the cage nearest the crank arm bent and got wedged on the crank arm, a d they're just a bit crappy.

    Skateparks.

Well, if he was 10 miles out of Wales the only way that'd be possible would be to be in the sea :- Near Swansea aren'tcha? All MBUK boys have found it's 'cool' there so they do bike tests there too. Claim to fame: Saw Chris Smith riding there before he became 'big' (I.e. before MBUK took his cock every month), doing double barspins on his Curtis, and barspin to fufanu and shit on the big midi quarter. Weird lad, he is... Mark.
  7. The T-Vee is basically the same as the T-Bird V-brake edition from before, but with 2-bolt mounts instead of 4. Either way, he'd be better off saving up for the T-Bird...just tell him to save up for a little bit longer... Mark.
  8. If it was bought within 2 year ago, probably. 0115 941 11 33. guess who's somehow memorised that number :- Oh, Danny, leave the 'kin bird alone...
  9. T-Bird: 19" back wheel = grippier tyres available. Also, the bike's more upgradable because it shares more parts with other frames. So yeah, I'd get that. If you're "Newtotrials" then there's no huge difference between AD-3's and HS11's. Mark.
  10. This was written as a newbie sorta thing, and most nooooooooooobs aren't going to have nearly half a grand kicking about the place looking lonely to spend on a CK hub. Well, they could get *ahem* someone to pay for them, but if they do that then it doesn't matter... We'll just ignore them in a sea of envy :- Mark.
  11. Sizes 20" wheeled bikes: Good for proper hopping around. More orientated towards "comps". 26" wheeled bikes: Good for rolling stuff. More orientated towards "street". Bikes 20": Onza T-Pro 2004. £399. Top quality frame with some excellent components slapped on. Good frame for upgrading around. 26": Onza T-Raptor 2004. £399 - £499. Again, good quality frame and some really good parts on it. Also look at: Monty. Frames 26": Koxx Levelboss 1065 - £400-ish. Top frame. Bit expensive for beginning on, but it'll be the only frame you'll ever need. Monty Urban - £142. Great frame, costs nowt. 20": Echo Team - £390-ish. Amazing frame. It's just damn good. T-Pro 2004 - Same as Team, but £170 cheaper. Brakes Simplest option: Magura HS33 rim brakes. £85-odd from chainreactioncycles.com. They're probably the best brakes you can buy that you can slap on and have a noticeable performance gain. Discs are OK, but break frames and V-brakes are OK but not 'enough' for some riders. Best pads: X-Hydra pads (see cleanbikes.co.uk) £17.50 for 4 or Koxx Bloxx (see koxx.co.uk) at £18.50 for 2. Best booster: Hard to say. Possibly Carbonique (carbonique.co.uk), maybe the Echo ones (ez-trials.co.uk)...or the RB Designs 4-bolt booster or the Onza carbon booster (supercycles.co.uk). (Edit by tomturd: brake booster topics\advice can be found here - http://www.trials-forum.co.uk/index.php?sh...5959&hl=booster http://www.trials-forum.co.uk/index.php?sh...6046&hl=booster http://www.trials-forum.co.uk/index.php?sh...5929&hl=booster http://www.trials-forum.co.uk/index.php?sh...5442&hl=booster http://www.trials-forum.co.uk/index.php?sh...5210&hl=booster ) Wheels 26" rims: Mavic D521 for street (rear rim). Generic AlexRims rim for natural due to better tyre profile (rear). For front, it varies. Check out sites such as ez-trials.co.uk, koxx.co.uk, supercycles.co.uk or mavic.com and pick and choose the rim that suits your weight preference/wallet size. 20" rims: Echo rims. Pretty good :- Alex DX-32. The generic mod rim. Not a whole load wrong, plus pretty cheap too. 26" hubs: Front - Hope XC or Mono (disc or non-disc respectively). Rear - Hope XC or CK hub. Latter is a super expensive option, probably best going for XC as it's the best engagement/strength compromise. 20" hubs: They're mostly the same. Rear - Quando hub, cleanbikes.co.uk Front - Maybe Hope Mono or XC, or just the best front hub you can afford on cleanbikes.co.uk. Bar and stem For cheap, low-cost affairs that work pretty well check out the Onza bar and stems on onza.com. Cranks Middleburns for 26". You'll probably not have to buy a (full-price) new set of cranks again. They're worth the extra money. Expect to pay around £140-160 for ISIS version. Echo front freewheels cranks for 20". ez-trials.co.uk. Alternatives: Tensile cranks. Great value for money, strong, light enough and come with the integrated screw-on bashring/chainring. For more info, see onza.com and the reviews section of trialsride.com. Pedals DMR V8's. Chainreactioncycles.com. £24.99. Onza VP's. onza.com £12 (not incl. p&p). Gloves Hebo Trial Teams gloves. £18-ish. bvm-moto.co.uk. Great gloves, last for eternity, non-stitched palm so they don't bunch up. Armour 661 Veggie Wrap Shins. £24.99. Chainreactioncycles.com. Good pads. Don't get too hot and provide good enough protection. Helmets Try as many on as possible. Just go around every bike shop you can and try different ones on. www.giro.com. www.met.com. www.bell-helmets.com. Popular model: Giro Semi-MX. £45. Feel free to add to this.
  12. Bullshit-o-meter reading quite high there...
  13. Yeah Nic, bang on the money there. 1 year manufacturing defect, 2 year crash replacement. Same as most other people, really...well, apart from Monty, Koxx, Brisa... Anyway, the point I was trying to make is that some people seem to have issues with believing that the T-Pro is as good as the Levelboss, when it IS the same frame. The headtube has been improved, and the drop-outs may be a different shape. But that's it. Oh, and the "Onza" stamped into the end of the chainstays. Saves weight. Honest... Mark.
  14. Right, as has all been said: The T-Pro is the same frame as the Levelboss. As has been said as well: It's available now full build, after Christmas it's frame only as well. Prices are uncertain. As was said 4 posts ago: The T-Bone is still pretty early on in development. No prices, colours or stickers are known yet. As is in the Bike Pics thread: Onza T-Bone frame. Onza TufGuy 20" forks. T-Mag wheelset front wheel. Onza prototype cassette hub rear, on DX-32 rim. Tensile cranks. KMC Kool chain. Onza VP Pedals sans inner cage. FSA Pig headset. Pazzaz carbon fibre bar and stem. Magura rear, avec RB Booster. Avid SD5 front V, with upside-down AD3 lever (due to mullered SD7 lever). Mark.
  15. I see...didn't realise they'd made/"designed" new ones :">
  16. Are they still the basic DX-32s? If so, they'll be the same as the old rims but in a different colour option and should still be £18.99. Mark. PS. Or did you mean that and are taking the piss out of Echo or me? :-
  17. Dunno about price, depends what material they end up making it out of. The stickers haven't been decided yet, and neither has the colour-scheme. Mark. PS. Nic, T-Lite = £279, frame only, and the T-Comp is...er...ahem.
  18. Yep, the rims will be sold seperately.
  19. No offence to you, but are you a dick? Think about it - it's a great frame. No really, it is. You're getting £150-odd cranks with it, drilled rims, carbon fibre bar, those new cool Sticky Fingers tyres, really light forks, and just generally good wheels. So yeah, £900 is a pretty good figure really. Oh, not to mention the Maguras and the RB Booster. Considering the Monty X-Lite's not a shitload different, that retails for a hell of a lot more. Mark.
  20. New T-Raptor's on supercycles.co.uk's homepage. Links to it, anyway. Got a new diddy gusset, and now in black. Well, more so than before. Looks cool :- Mark.
  21. I'm going to cut down the steerer, don't worry... Anyway, the frame was a bit patchier before with the rust, but I cleaned it with a "fibrous pad" or summat that someone chucked over to me, and it kinda went all-over orange. First indications are that it rides nicely :- Mark.
  22. Don't forget - the Woodstock frame has just been 'redesigned' in a way. The geometry has been tweaked, as has the bike itself in a few ways, so although it's not too far off production it might be a month/a couple of months. Mark.
  23. Yesterday Ben, there were 3 threads asking about new Onza products. It's the run-up to Christmas so more people are going to be asking. To save clowns the bother of having to go "Oh, use the search function, blah blah blah" it's easier to have thing in the FAQ. Yes, in the Frequently Asked Question section. The "When can I get the Onza ___?" is a Frequently Asked Question... Also, I'm in SuperCycles all this week so if anyone wants to know summat they can ask and get a proper answer. Raub, the Sticky Fingers tyres are on the T-Pro on the SuperCycles site. They're going to retail at about £24.99 for the 20x2.5". £17.99 for the front. I'm pretty sure that's it...26x2.5 is £15.99. Go figure :- Artists Impression of the 20x2.5" Sticky Fingers tyre: Mark.
  24. I typed it Joe. Saves having to do it over and over again. Ad might have a point. I wasn't 100% about the Sticky Fingers...the rear should be good for you 26" scum. I mean riders. It's the same grippy pattern as mods with the sticky fingers middle bit... Mark.

Worth the money for damn sure. Oh, with Ti spokes. And an RB Booster for the rear. X-Lite 221 beater for half the price? :- (If it's good enough for Gilles it's good enough for you!) 6. 2004? Onza T-Bone. New frame received this Monday from Taiwan. Will be under-going testing as soon as possible. 7. 2004? Onza Woodstock. Details sketchy. Full build n/a yet. Feels super nice on the back wheel, really stable. Should be a swish bike. Being "street-tested" now to check out strength. Looks good too! 8. 2004 Onza T-Raptor. Most spec as was previous years*, but now with Pazzaz bar and stem (full alu), sticky fingers 2.5" and 2.0" tyres, Full Fat and Half Fat rims, Onza hubs. New colour - black mostly. Looks cool! 9. 2004 Onza T-Rex - no changes to my knowledge... 10. 2004 Onza T-Comp. As T-Mag, but lighter and in blue/silver instead of pearl white/race-line yellow. Super light - COMP USE ONLY. As was said, full build = T-Mag spec*. That about covers it. Sticky fingers tyres available in 20x2.0, 20x2.5, 26x1.95/2.10 and 26x2.5. Pazzaz CF/7075 bar and alu stem £50 (bargain!).
