  1. OK, can I call it shite because: 1. Linkin Park's music is utter shite. Every song follows the same boring formula. It'll be that guy rapping for a sorta verse part, then the "Singer" guy "singing" (properly loose term there) for a sort of chorus, then repeat that to the sound of guitars with so much distortion it's hard to hear what they're actually playing, topped off with some shit sorta synth effects to thicken the texture. My friends were well into Linkin Park so I had to listen to f**king albums of the stuff. It made me want to hurt Linkin Park. It's lack of inventiveness and originality is second only to the majority of pop music. 2. Jay-Z is a tool. Just look at his 'lyrics'. Same pointless crap repeated. How delightful. No, I haven't heard their collaboration. If I get drunk I might download it, but that's unlikely. Shit + shit = proper shit.
  2. Then why not piss off? Seriously, what the Hell was the point in: Use your f**king head. Anyway, I think I've got CoTrials Vincent1, so I can try and MSN that to someone and someone could host it somewhere? EDIT: Sorry, don't have the other CoTrials vid :">
  3. We played a gig with Sonic Boom Six, and they put on a good show too, so it'd be well worth getting down to...
  4. Should be interesting to see if it'll be like the St. Blaise or if they redesign... Any sign of the vid from Select, Phil?
  5. I'm guessing you're gleaning that info from a website, so why not bosh it into babelfish or altavista or whoever it is who does the translation? Generally fun to read after either way
  6. Steve Spurgeon (Heatsink) did a huge post about the physics of making a frame, where to buy materials from, material properties, suggested geometry, etc. - just search for it! It might be in the FAQ, but I can't remember. Anyway, try reading up on it on the internet first, instead of wasting the tubing you've got by messing it up 'cos you don't fully know what you're doing. Be super careful getting the BB shells and headtubes off, and then cleaning them, so you don't ovalise them and mean the whole process is pointless anyway. Are you hoping to be able to ride this frame, or is it just to see if you can do it or what?

    Little Video

Cool vid. I think the only problem was the music, really. It was just a bit too tame to be put with trials riding. Most people on here seem to think "I know, I'll put some utterly shit metal music on my video. Rock \m/" and then put some utterly shit metal music that's way too heavy for the riding, but I think your's went too much the other way so the music kinda dragged it down a bit? Cool riding 'n' stuff though otherwise
  8. Well, do the hammer thing but use a bit of wood instead of a metal pole? Seriously, it's the easiest way. If it's new, it won't have probably been fully mashed into the frame anyway. Just poke a metal bar or a bit of wood down the headtube, and knock it with a hammer. You can start doing it gently, and move around the top of the inside of the cup. It'll come off easily enough. We managed to get my friend's Cane Creek headset out easily. Admittedly, I made a tit of myself at Onza by hammering my FSA Pig cup in half sending bearings everywhere. Good work, there...
  9. Anywhere between £540.79 and £600~, going from some other websites. Looks pretty fly! Good luck at The Show. Seeing as it's outdoor this time, should be a better atmosphere for taking pics in in terms of light, etc.?
  10. I am kinda curious now  Good work with sorting it out though, must've been tricky.
  11. Slightly less surprised now? What with you saying that and the post in Trials Chat about the new Ashton? :-
  12. Scurry about on www.observedtrials.net, or www.cotrials.com.
  13. Also, from the URL, I'd guess at 108 teeth.

    Engage 4

Good shit, James. Seems like you sorta 'fit' that bike better than you used to with your shorter ones? Just seems more stable and kinda... betterer :( Good vid either way, bet Engage are pleased with you (Y)
  15. I found it to be the complete opposite. My new stem's about 10mm higher than the last, and it feels way better. It made backwheeling stuff properly easier (bearing in mind this is just backwheeling stuff - not tapping though), and just felt comfier. This could be 'cos I'm 6' 2" riding a T-Pro though...
  16. The hacksaw is your friend (Y)
  17. Well, the T-Pro standard forks are cromo so it should theoretically be possible. I doubt Clive would do it - he's not happy putting disc mounts on his forks 'cos he reckons it weakens them too much, let alone putting them on another companies fork's? Either way, they'd probably be too weak. In the same way that "disc compatible" frames snap like kindling because companies just make a frame then buy an off-the-shelf disc mount and weld it on and break, the forks would do the same thing. Just save up a bit and buy some disc forks. Monty do some for £35-ish, so go for them? Mark.
  18. Pity they don't just make axles like mod wheels? I can get a QR in mine, or I can use my little allen bolts. Could use whatever I liked, assuming I found a 110mm QR, and forgot that QR's are shite (Y) If you use chain tugs, do the QR up, then tighten off the chaintugs again with the QR shut so it properly holds it in place, they should be fine. If they're not, try getting a Fun-bolt'd hub, I guess... From other rider's experiences here, the main fault with wheel-slippage is the Shitty McShit-shit Hope QRs, so that could be the issue.
  19. I still haven't learnt how to tap properly. I guess I should, but I dunno... I just need to get round to doing it. Got 47.5" sans tap though, so hopefully I'll get nearer/past 50" with a tap... I've always found that with the higher backwheels (36-40"+) it's properly important to get your body positioning/weight positioning right. Up to 3ft, you can basically blag it however you want, just using pedal power - but above it it just gets a bit sketch, and you need to move your body properly. You're straining the brake shitloads, so you need to help it out by getting your body position more towards the backwheel/BB sorta area by bending your knees more. If the brakes are slipping, it generally means your weight's too far back, so you're not really 'on' the wall. The same's basically true if you haven't got it up properly. You really need to throw the bars forwards, but remember to keep some weight over the front so you 'stick' the bike up there. I can't really think how to explain it properly (Which is pretty obvious :">), 'cos I generally just go blank when I'm riding, but just keep at it. If the tyre's not getting high enough, throw the bike up a bit harder/try getting a bit more power out of the pedals. What gear ratio are you running? If it's too spinny/too hard, you're going to be pissing in the wind anyway, so make sure your set-ups dialled either way. I was running 22:14 with 170mm cranks, then changed to 18:12 with 158mm cranks, and it was so much easier to do stuff (on mod, that is). Just give it some beans, really...

    Black Holes

Yeah, and only about 3 minutes into an episode to come up with some amazingly obvious cliche'd plot...
  21. Yeah, true, but I'd never used an FTP client before so I didn't know if it was me being shit :"> Speaking of 'being shit' - 9kb/sec file transfer rate?

    Flippin Eck

Go Grammar Boy :P Go to www.real.com and download RealPlayer then. It's hella good
  23. Ne'er was a truer word spoken. The 2 people from my school who are hoping to go are just turds, a lot of the time. She's going out with him, and he's well under the thumb - we used to hang out all the time, but now he has to ask her permission \ Anyway, the thing with them is that they only know it if they've read it in a book, i.e. they can't really formulate opinions of their own, so their knowledge is really thin. If they try and argue, people just shoot 'em down really easily purely because of that, which is one of the reasons I think that although they've got more than enough arrogance to get into Oxbridge, they're gonna be let down by the fact they don't really know much in detail.
  24. That was a really cool video. Really enjoyable to watch - good work :P Sucks about the glandular fever. I know it'll be a bitch, but try not to rush back to work/riding too soon. The former trials rider around here got it and he tried riding etc. too soon and it just comes back again, and you're stuck with another 2 months off... Hope it does clear up sooner for you though
  25. Weird shit - that was what I did before, and it didn't work - tried it again and it's just gone "yak yak yak directory listing successful". Odd.
