  1. http://www.winstanleysbikes.co.uk have Xens for £70 and the 2004 Giro Semi-MX in gloss black. Tempted to get a Semi/Xen, but don't have anywhere to try them on. Does anyone know if you can mail order helmets and send them back if they don't fit, without having to pay a %age of the cost? Mark. EDIT: Link actually works now (Y)
  2. It's from the awesome "Little Book Of Bunny Suicides." Really, really funny book :D Our Philosophy teacher cracked out his copy of it that he'd be given and we wasted the whole lesson reading it...
  3. I thought it was more than that? It's more than the T-Pro, isn't it?
  4. Smo, d'you mean like visualisation before or whilst doing something?
  5. Hey all, Was trying to get an idea of how much rake the Echo Team forks have on them, so could any T-Pro riders with Team forks bosh some pics in here? Thanks (N) Mark.
  6. 'cos I ride alone a lot, I generally just make sure I can't see any police around immediately, then go at it. In court, daresya to just shout "But it was f**king UCI, there was no bash contact!"

    Ymsa Trials

I think most finished near enough around 4pm, which was the end time for the trial. You can stick around and ride after and wait for the results if you want, assuming it's not pissing it down or anything (N) I was tempted by Expert too, but some of it was just a bit beyond me. Managed to get through some red routes only dropping one or two dabs, even cleaned one, but they were pretty challenging. Good luck Mr. Read :P

    Ymsa Trials

You still riding Inter Ad? Might chance me arm and ride the next one, assuming I get my merde together...

    Ymsa Trials

Just start on Inter. Novice is pretty straight-forward really, and you might as well do a category that'll push you. Inter stuff isn't big, burly stuff really. There are some bits that just require a bit of bottle, but it's all just technical, low-level stuff really, unless they drastically changed it in the last round :P But yeah, go for Inter. It won't be anything huge and scary, it's just difficult stuff to ride so you might as well go for it (N) Not sure about changing categories through the year - I'm guessing they wouldn't transfer points 'cos it'd be a bit shonky if you won Novice, then went up to Inter and took the points for a win, if you get me? Otherwise the Elite riders would all ride Novice then change to Elite at the last round :P
  10. Cheers Ad (N) The thread-locking was in reference to the fact that my V8's just seem to piss pins, which is agravating. The quality of the pedals seems to have dropped at the end of last year; my blue V8's I've got on now are pretty young and they've just fallen apart. Not happy at all...
  11. Shit yeah! Bloc Party rule! Pity they did a shitty song at the NME awards, but meh. What's the album like? I've got about 20 of their songs through *ahem* other sources and they seem pretty good, might have to buy it now... I really love the song "Helicopter". Mark.

    Ymsa Trials

To send off the entry form and go. That's the beauty about YMSA comps - no stupid ACU licenses, etc. The trials are run really smoothly, they take into account weather, queueing and so on really well when setting up the sections and the over-all time allowed, and they're generally in nice rocky locations so it's not just "Ride up and down this muddy bank". The sections are pretty fun to ride, apart from the not to technical but just awkward parts (N) So yeah, just go to the site, download the entry form, send the money and the form and you're good to go, assuming you've got a working bike/helmet. They're well worth going to - you learn a lot; it's a good day out just riding; you meet shitloads of cool people; you get to see the Elite riders doing some nuts stuff. Mark.
  13. Are the bearings and seals better than the V8's? I'm needing new pedals soon, and I really don't know what to get. I don't want super heavy pedals (so I'm shying away from the Shindigs), but don't really want to get VP pedals 'cos they're a bit too small. The Hog's are at the very top end of my potential budget, so is the build quality any good? If you thread-lock the pins in, do they stay in better? Thanks for any help, Mark.
  14. The Killers > Keane = Snow Patrol. Equation me up, Batman. Well into Willy Mason at the moment...
  15. Which video's that? Is it Shack'd and therefore inaccessible? I can't remember mine, will edit in a sec. EDIT: I freaking own that bird. It went off before, and Danny brutally messed it up, but I've had it for like forever, then the forum changed and it was lost, but I found it in a random folder on my computer, and the bird was reinstated. The Title corresponds to the fact that Royal Mail lost the recorded delivery envelope I sent to Jimbo with a £70 cheque in, and charged me £18.50 to send a wheel and some cranks to Onza. Fortunately, they lose their monopoly soon, so prices should fall. Woo!
  16. No square taper, I'm afraid. Generally, you need a 127.5mm long BB spindle, then just whatever the width of the BB shell is on your bike.
  17. Go for it, I'm bored and need new stuff to watch :o Can do 6 and a half comfortably, over 7 if I go for it.

    New Vid

Awesome video :o I genuinely "lol"'d at that scream from that guy when whoever it was fingered his arse...

    V Brake V

Can you make no decisions for yourself? :- First a katrillion frame topics, now a brake topic? :o Anyhoo, I'd stick with my Magura. No hassle, great rewards. My V-brakes always seemed to need tweaking. There are certain benefits to V-brakes, such as the way you don't have to deflate your tyre to remove it, etc., but the power and feel of Maguras beats any V-brake for me; especially with the issue of nearly every frame out now being a 4-bolt Magura mounted frame... With V's, you get what you pay for. Cheap, crappy calipers and a cheap, crappy lever, tied together with cheap, crappy cable will be a cheap, crappy brake whatever happens. Avid really do it for me where V-brakes are concerned; SD7 arms are £17.99, and the lever wouldn't be much more, so I'd go for SD7 bits all round. The FlakJacket cables worked super nicely when I had them, but I think I'd probably go for the Slic-Cable now, made by Odyssey.
  20. Hey Steve, I have low standards, so here's a pic for your perusal (higher res version if needed); again, not PM'd so other people can see what they're like in comparison to their's... Not actually as dirty as they look, it's just the flash. Just a bit grubby, I think. So yeah, it might actually be just 10 backing 'cos I can't find the other pads I had... How much does that affect the price, and also does it affect the P&P? I know if you send 12 the new pads are effectively free, but does that cover the P&P? Thanks for everything, Mark.
  21. 1. Is that a Demolition front tyre? How's it holding up? 2. Are the Black Mamba frames still being made/sold?

    Dead T-pro

Good luck with that - they're not being made any more (someone said something about them being out of stock, and the company not making any more in another thread), so it'll have to be second hand? Oh, and to the comment "£400 is not too much to enable you to do something which is your passion." - I love riding trials, but seeing as I'm going to uni (maybe, or maybe just moving out and going somewhere else...), I need to keep some money back, so £400 IS too much for me, and it's the same situation for other people...
