I was thinking that about power moves, but for upping and gapping I wasn't 100% about that idea just 'cos I didn't know whether it'd feel too spinny?
-
Are you riding in the wet or the dry now? It's not something simple like the brake crap you get from when you ride in the wet? Are the pads fully contaminated themselves with fluid, deeper than just the surface layer or anything?
-
Yeah, but people had to cut 2mm off so they'd fit in most bikes, so they come at 7-8mm as standard now.

Ahoy. I've been offered some Tensile cranks with a Gigapipe for £100. This is tempting. However, I ride mod and they're in 175mm crank arm length. I haven't used cranks that long before (170mm's the most I ever had, when I had Tensiles on my T-Bone back in the day, running 22:14 (Y)), so I was wondering how it would affect the feel of the bike? Specifically, the power I could get out of it? I'd still be running my 18t Eno up front and the 12t fixed sprocket at the back, but would that gearing feel ultra spinny if I had cranks 15mm longer (running 160's at present)? Or would it feel harder? Using the door principle, 160mm cranks would be like trying to open a door nearer the hinges (harder) and 175mm cranks would be like opening a door further out (easier), but because it's the same ratio would it affect the power delivery/available much? Or would I just be best off buying some new Tensiles and a new BB? Thanks for any help, Mark.

Cool vid, Sam. Made me want to ride when I went out and put my bike away. My neighbours probably thank you for the "EEEEEEEEEERK" from my back brake at 11pm (Y)

Don't know why the topic was locked, unless it was something to do with "warez" or whatever...

Pazzaz/Onza carbon bars. Pazzaz/Onza carbon bars. Pazzaz/Onza carbon bars. They're totally awesome. They're the nicest feeling bars I've *ever* used. Everyone who's tried my bike loves them, everyone who buys them loves them (many posts on here of "I'll never go back to other bars", etc.). They're simply great bars. The aluminium part of the bars is only slightly narrower than that of standard alu bars, but they've got the carbon wrap over the last 10-15% of the material, so it's not like they're fully carbon fibre. They're awesome bars. Buy them!

This hop to back wheel is actually over 4ft (hence the pic to the side of it), but the person taking the picture was standing on a bin behind me so it looks about _ _ tall. Wah - waaaaaaaah. Mark. -
Really, really cool vid  Some mental stuff. Drops don't usually impress me much, but that hella big double drop was cool (Y)

I guess it's also down to PSI and riding style/skill. Like if you look at riders from the Worlds in Kaprun a few years ago, it was hideously slippy yet they were still getting loads of grip from their better technique. So maybe you're f**king amazing or something (Y)

Seemingly 'cos Danny said he didn't like the way it said "Forum led by: Onzaboymark", so he made me a full mod to keep the forum looking cleaner. Cheers though Jonny  EDIT - And even if you don't like my posts, feel free to bear in mind posting and moderating are two different kettles of fish.

Holy freaking hell. That's potentially the smoothest, most effortless riding I've seen. It's just mental how efficient he is.

If you watch any of the videos of the top riders in the world, they all back pedal just before they get to the hooked stage. It could also be 'cos most of them ride UCI so it'd be 1 mark, but still, seems to work for them.

People always expect them to improve, but once bearing quality's reached a certain standard, spoke techonology has improved to a certain quality and so on, there's only so much you can do; so the nipple's-at-the-hub hubs come about I guess. Plus weird spoke configurations too... Also, it keeps Shimano afficianados buying their product year after year, I suppose.

I found the Jeff Lenosky and Aaron Chase section from something Disorder on Engoedidee. Was pretty freakin' good, to be fair. It's the first MTB street I've seen that didn't look completely dire  Was impressive.

I can't see this thread being open long. There was a thread in NMC that had the word "Asian" in it, and it instantly became 4 pages of "f**king pakis should go home". Could give you direct quotes if you want, but that quotation sums it up. People seem to have a really odd, strange, unrealistic view of asylum seekers/immigrants; and it largely seems to be the view put across by tabloid newspapers. This is of course the "OH MY GOD, MILLIONS OF FOREIGNERS COMING OVER, LIVING OFF OUR BENEFITS, STEALING YOUR JOBS, SLEEPING IN YOUR BED" sort of melodrama. Ironically, they at the same time complain they're stealing money from the government, yet also 'stealing all our jobs'? At the end of the day, it's illegal immigrants who are the problem. People who are emigrating here with 'genuine' reasons - it's fair enough. Asylum seekers are fair enough too, seeing as if their country is shitty maybe they'd want to move here? America was boosted hugely by Irish asylum seekers who we caused to have to go there, so I guess we're no better than some of the places these people are seeking to leave. Anyway, yeah, ILLEGAL immigrants are the problem because they're here in an unregulated manner and will try and take what they can. Not all of them admitedly seeing as there are those who are seeking asylum from persecution/whatever, who found it easier to just get into the country as an illegal alien. However, the "Pakis go home" sorta mindset is properly shit. I don't get how people think it's acceptable for us to go on holiday to places or stay in other countries, yet anyone who does that here is a lazy free-loader or whatever. It's just shit, I think people seriously need to open their minds a bit more. It's not such a huge case of "Us and them" as a lot of people seem to make it. Mark. P.S. Wouldn't it be shitty atttitudes of people here causing the racism? Seeing as if they're illegals they'd want to keep a low profile? It'd be like a Man Utd. fan going into the Chelsea stands and shouting "Chelsea are wankers" and expecting to walk away. Some people would obviously, but I'm thinking the majority wouldn't.

It only needs to seal the tube though I guess, so it doesn't need to seal the outer edge? I can see what you mean about it being wet on the surface layer, but I'm thinking the latex would erupt out before any water got onto the tube through the hole in the tyre, so it'd be dry before it got moistened? Mark.
-
Yeah, pretty much. I dig that YesTubes site. Speaketh the truth. I can run pressures as low as I want and never rim or pinch? I hate super soft tyres just 'cos it feels like wank. I know in comps you can get more grip on slippery stuff, but in the real world it makes your bike feel like a barge, it just reacts weirdly on angled surfaces, etc. So yeah, not for me...

But "real" KMC Kools are only £7?

They might do. Who's to say? Well, apart from them.
