  1. To be honest, I completely under-rated you. That's all changed after seeing this video though :P Some of the stuff you were doing was properly swish - good work
  2. Is the frame actually cracked? Doesn't say anywhere that is is. Shady...
  3. In that Trials-Shack always seems to go through it's bandwidth early, why not help save it a bit by just getting it off Eengoedidee? It's what I did and it was fine?
  4. With a 'standard' screwdriver, I couldn't get close to enough. I've now just got some stainless bolts and a ParkTool allen key tool. Job's a good un.
  5. I don't know now, 'cos I lost the b*****d link
  6. I had to run flat-head screw bolts once. It felt like the world was against me. I don't know how you can do 'em up enough, mine were wholesale wank. Was immensely relieved to get some allen bolts back. As long as you keep enough pressure going down the allen key into the head of the bolt whilst applying turny-turny pressure you're pretty much sorted.
  7. Basically, if your TPA is wound really far in, you'll have to have the pads further out to get the lever closer to the bar. Because of this, you're kinda pushing the performance of the brake already, 'cos it doesn't have much more to give. Shit way of putting it, but hopefully you'll see what I mean  Anyway, just take the lever blade out by un-doing the lever bolt. Strip it down (you might need an allen key or something to push the metal bushing out. Get the square block which the TPA threads into. Take out the sheared part (what's stopping it from moving beyond a certain point). Reassemble, but put an M5 bolt in the hole where the TPA bolt formerly was. Job: done :P
  8. That could be why people who like Onza more are still a bit "Wuh?" at people hating them - the "T-Frameset" as it was known was their first ever attempt at a trials frame, and that was over 4 years ago! It's like hating Monty 'cos their first bikes were wank. Yeah, he should've had a different length BB spindle, or used spacers. Mine's never rubbed, apart from when it was Mr. Flappy and it dinged the inside of the seat-stay if I was riding a little rough... But yeah, they're certainly improving themselves. The way they're openly thoroughly testing products is awesome, and the fact they use this forum and it's members to help develop products is good too, really. At least it's going to be closer to what "The People" want.
  9. Did actually semi laugh out loud then Steve  Anyway, I think the helmet issue's been done to death, sadly. People who don't want to wear one won't, same as people who know full well the risks of smoking puff away. Anyhoo, what the bejesus are you doing in this pic? Looks really weird! http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y144/moto...rd/IMG_1372.jpg
  10. Nah, I'm happy with the brake, it's just when I'm pooped it's useful. How can you really alter the brake though to reduce it? Or d'you just mean lever reach/how far it pulls back?
  11. Apart from when you're being raped by arm-pump mid-way through a section, where it can give you a bit of a rest if you just change to two fingers for a short period just to let your finger have a rest (from experience...).
  12. Oh you :"> The only thing is is that I don't really see the point in spending 3 years doing a degree I don't want to be doing (and getting in a shitload of debt too) which can only really lead into a job which I'll find shit 'cos it's something I don't want to do. I'm reapplying to BassTech (maybe), assuming they aren't uber expensive, so it might be OK. They seem well up for me going there and trying out, and they said I can apply whenever up until when the course starts (or even slightly after...), so it seems like there's space, which is promising in some ways. It seems you HAVE to go and do the year long Higher Diploma (which is basically the first year of the degree, but they technically aren't allowed to just let unqualified people just do the degree, if you get me), then get transfered to the last two of the degree. Sounds tech, and is, but if that's what it takes, that's what it takes...
  13. Apart from the fact that Greenday are a bigger problem for the World than global warming, that was a cool vid
  14. Nah, it just won't take the TNT2 which is (I think) the one I have. In the "Known Issues" section it said people running the TNT2 card would have trouble getting past the Press Enter screen, and described the exact problem I had. Their solution was "Buy something better than an nVidia GeForce3." So I'm looking at graphics cards, but I haven't got a f**king clue what I can hammer into place. I'm leaning towards the GeForce4 just 'cos it sounds pretty good, and it's only £17.99...
  15. Yeah, that's what I liked about the late Saturday demo/jam. It was cool seeing them pushing themselves and not just nailing everything first time or whatever. Benito took about 3 or 4 goes at the big pipe; they all took about 3 goes to get up from the sleepers to the top of the pipe; and so on. Was cool to see (Y) Just made them all seem more 'human' in many ways...
  16. Whoooooooooa there - getting a blistering 1.02kb/sec on the 'mirror' download site. Quids in on 570kb/sec BB (Y) Really wanna see the vids. Does this mean we've gotta wait 'til 1st May to see 'em? Could always host them on Eengoedidee.nl and link to that or something? ;)
  17. Ahoy there, I've got Colin McRae Rally 04 here. I've installed it (took 3 goes), and I'm trying to run it. It does all the intro and stuff and then says "Press Enter to Play". I press enter to play, but then it says "Autoloading Options", then "Loading", the screen flickers and the programme disappears and it goes back to Windows. Can anyone think might be causing this? (Y) Mark EDIT: Turns out it supports all the different versions of my graphics card, apart from the one I have. Cuntybollocks...
  18. I braved the pissing rain to walk down there, camera in hand. Turned the bush by the forecourt - deserted (Y) Sorry aboots that, was a bit rushed before and didn't think about taking pics, sorry!
  19. I was a paper boy for two years, doing Sunday morning rounds. Get up at 7:50, go to shop for 8, deliver papers for 30 minutes, get a fiver. Now I have two jobs running a bikeshop on my own on Saturdays, and Somerfield for 10 hours mid-week, as well as school.
  20. Talking of Mini's - walked past the petrol station just down from my house on the way home from school - forecourt full of old, classic rallying Mini's. Turns out the Dutch Mini Rally Championship is passing through town, so there's loadsa old school Mini's with a katrillion headlights each passing through. Look pretty swish to be fair!

Subscribers as in people who pay to use OTN?
  22. Cool vid (Y) Gave me a chance to see most of the stuff I half-saw on Saturday at better angles ;) Even though I was listening to it with my headphones on quite loud, then there was the hissy part when the crowd and Mr. R were going mental which almost deafened me ;) Thanks for putting so much effort in though ;) Good job! Mark
  23. *touch wood* From now in, it's getting warmer and warmer so it shouldn't be much of an issue. My brake froze twice overnight, and three times whilst I was riding home (only the front, 'cos it's got a smaller volume and was more affected by the windchill as I sprinted home), but all that happened was that the lever refused to move. Once it froze so badly the brake locked on, but that was it. As a man of experimentation with Maguras Steve, I really recommend trying out water. Like you say - it IS free, and it's well worth doing. I was a "Just use oil, it's what it's designed for person" (in the same way that I used to be a "Maguras are shite, my Avid's better" person ;)), and the change to water has made my brake a kajillion times better. Mark P.S. Sending the literature tonight (Y)
  24. Yeah, I knew about the high BB rise leading to it feeling shorter, I was just refering to the sorta more 'extreme' geometry that bikes are getting to have these days. Mark
