  1. We've got one of those helmets in our bike shop. If it's a clear day, and there's decent lighting conditions, and you adjust the helmet so it sits as well on your head as a normal helmet would, you can just about see the dull reflection of the inside of the periscope bit/the shitty mirror. You're more likely to crash by looking up trying to work out what the f**k the huge blurry shape is in your "mirror" (loose term: shiny plastic in reality) than from being nailed from behind by some silent lorry that you couldn't hear or something...
  2. Or Fr!ka, or maybe Dave Dennis (PlainLazy84, I think - the mod, anyway :))?
  3. Yeah. Anything other than the standard Onza bars. I just don't like the feel of 'em at all. Why not try something like the ZOO! bar 'n' stem, or the ZOO! risers in a Team stem, or the lovely Onza carbon fibre bars and a ZOO! stem or something? Either way, it might just be that you need to get used to the different feel of the bike, really. You need to get used to the way that a mod will make you ride; most stock riders who go to mod seem to have the front end super high for everything, making it feel like a dog. You just need to learn how to ride it best, really, so it could just be that you need to get used to it :) Anyway, parts wise - it's probably just 'cos it's all bedding in? I know I had to fag about with my headset quite a bit at first when it was all bedding in, and it's been the same with almost every part I've used really with a few exceptions. The spec of the T-Mag isn't super high, I *Think* a lot's open bearing (depending on spec?), so it's not going to be super tight like a decent quality sealed set-up would be. Just give it a good going over and it should do you pretty well :) Mark
  4. lol I don't know why, but it just makes me laugh imagining scientists chucking bees into a wind tunnel...
  5. Hey dude, It was me who emptied the original thread, mainly because people were still asking what parts he had for sale, and if he'd sheistered you I didn't want him to be able to do anything to anyone else. However, all the dialogue between you two has been left in there 'cos I knew it'd be needed, so you should be sorted. Mark

  7. But you didn't have the required tools to change it, otherwise you could've done? So if you've altered your car, then surely you'd have to take that into account, so basically they're in the right? Or have I misunderstood?
  8. A-ha, yeah, I'm guessing it's just the way it's worn the chain then... You can just let it bed in, 'cos that's what I ended up doing, 'cos a new chain didn't sort it so I just put an old one on and let it do it's own thing, so if money's tight I wouldn't bother buying a new chain...
  9. Are you running the same sized cog at the back?
  10. They're not smaller; they're the same relative pitch otherwise they wouldn't fit on at all. Is it just an old chain which has stretched out too far? Or a new chain that needs to bed in? Same thing happened when I put a whole new drive-train on my bike before; it just used to crunch loads when I pedalled forwards - felt shite. Tried replacing bits, but it stayed the same, so I rode it in for a bit. It cleared up on it's own pretty quickly, which was nice :)
  11. How so? Is it not meshing properly? If so, is it an old or a new chain? New Profile?
  12. Jeez, and to think for the last 5 years I've been a fake bassist 'cos I haven't had ear-rings...
  13. Happy birthday Mr. B...

Anyone wanna eengoedidee.nl it or host it somewhere else? Or MSN me :-
  15. They do it for the money. If you buy a Monty frame, it means you either have to use a 25" rim (THEIR rim, so the money goes to them), or you buy an adaptor so it moves the brake mounts up to a 26" suitable area (THEIR adaptor, so more money for them). If you run a 25" wheel, you have to also use THEIR tyres, again, meaning more money for them. You can't run them on any other bikes, unless they've got the potential for 25" mounts. Mark

    Request!

There was some stuff on Section7.co.uk a while back of Edd Tongue riding his. Oh yeah, if I could be arsed and wasn't going to reply, I'd nail you with the Multi-Mod thing for "Stop bumping" - not allowed within 24 hours of the last post.
  18. Yeah, true - make sure you pump with your hips when you bring it up into manual position, and you'll have your legs nicely bent so you can 'pump' if the front end drops. Same deal as hop to manual; try and land into it, as it were, it's all about getting your legs bent so you can pump. Manual's are super nice on my bike at the moment, 1005mm wb T-Pro with fairly high (38") bars. All good :D Just keep practising, really. Same as everything else :P

Hangs out on street corners at night? :D Nowt. Hungry...
  20. A problem mods are facing now with validating people is that people seem to forget to keep doing decent posts once they get validated. There's one new member I validated who seemed really good in here, but now he's in the main forum he's just being a total f**ktard and has already been given warnings and so on in like the past 3 or so days. It's just stupid. So although it seems like we're "validating tossers" and showing "favouritism" - I've validated about 20 people I don't know, and I can ONLY go from the posts they've done in here, so if they're tossers afterwards I can't really help that... 21. Just out of curiosity, is it the BB spindle that twisted, or the crank arm itself? When I used to run some Club Roost 2D copies, that happened a lot, but now I've got my X-Pedals on with my new Tensiles I haven't had any trouble, which is nice :) In fairness too, kudos to Mike for the FOC replacement. Mark
  22. Hey pock3t, What might be happening to yours is what happened to mine - basically, the sealed bearings kinda bed in to a small extent, and when they do this, excess grease is pushed out of the seals. This is pretty thick, blue grease, and because of the way it goes out it goes onto the pawls and the springs. When this thick grease gets onto the springs and the pawls, it stops them from moving as quickly (it also acts to make it quieter). I stripped and thoroughly cleaned mine and put a little GT-85 in there, and it ran way better. I've had a few skips since Saturday when I stripped it again to clean it (I was bored :">), where I think I might've not quite reassembled it correctly or something... But yeah, strip 'n' clean :D Mark
