I wasn't, as my speakers were for some reason set to be uber loud.

They aren't CNC'd, 'cos if they were you'd be wasting a LOT of material (in that bars have a typically thin, slender tube thickness, so you'd be machining out a lot of metal).

I really hope the police nail those twats who actually admitted doing it on that program. They openly admitted it, and have video evidence of it. Guilty, methinks. I can't believe townies have stooped this low. I know they're all cowardly hence the going round in groups business, but randomly hitting people (women especially, even OAP's (N)) is just shit. I really hope all the midget townies in town start trying to do that to people. It's pretty cool really, we've got a very "Anti Chav" town. To put that into context, there's one guy around here who was a bit of a townie twat. To give you an example, he got a crew together and went into town, beat up a pair of old people, then saw someone in a wheelchair so toppled them over, then beat them up. Anyway, it turned out he picked on the wrong guy, who had a properly hard as nails, partially psychotic brother. Said brother went up to this guy, and ended up grabbing him by the throat and trying to kill him. The Police were called, but were "Unexpectedly detained" in their cars (read: let it carry on), and stepped in when they thought the guy was in real danger of dying. Unfortunately, "The suspect was lost" :) No f**king joke, that actually happened... So yeah, I just hope they start it here. It makes it sound better really when you get called into the police station because, say, if you felt someone hit you in the head you'd have a right to defend yourself. You wouldn't know that it was just someone messing around, so if you "accidentally" pounded them shitless it would be an "instinctive defensive act", and so on... I just can't believe they're doing it in the first place.

Was that not just you needing to put a spot of grease on the edges of the stem clamp to stop a tiny amount of play in the bars making it creak? Decent wheelbuild? Soft compound, designed-for-comps tyres? Not surprising? Anyway, I wouldn't go for either of them. *cough*Tensiles*cough* (N) Only...er...£20-ish more than the Montys but a trillion times better.

If people just stop talking about shit and start using this thread for talking about the Norco Evolve, there's no need to delete anything... That was a subtle hint to everyone (N)

As long as you ignore the snapped Echo and Koxx frames...?

Tell you what was weird... I brought the headtube part of my frame (it folded in half after I cut the BB shell out to send to Onza :">) in to the house to show my Mum, and just as I did it I go a call. It was from someone from Onza (bearing in mind this was at quarter past 7) who said they'd seen my thread... Apparently, ALL the T-Pros have been made from U6, but they had excess 6061 stickers or something like that from the run of the 2003 square-tubed-ish frames (those gash ones?), and when Pulo asked Onza what stickers to use, they just said "The same ones as the old ones", so they got the same ones as the old ones - 6061 sticker and all. So my old frame was also U6, despite it saying 6061, apparently. The More You Know™.

That is actually a properly sound idea (N) Kudos to whoever came up with it. Will the "non-competitive" riders get to know their score at the end, just so they know how they would've done? Or are you basically just letting them ride the sections?
-
Yeah, I wasn't complaining :) Just wanted to check and see what the score was. Seems to have come with a BB as well, which was a little unexpected... Pity I'm running ISIS (N)

Hey y'all, Got my replacement T-Pro frame today, and one of the first things I noticed was the big ol' shiney "Pulo U6 Alloy" sticker on the downtube - how long have they been made of U6 for? I'm pretty sure my old one was 6061, unless I'm being properly stupid :"> Is this a new thing? Mark

British Cycling is the "new" version of the old British Cycling Federation. Never really been too keen on them, really. Was a member for a few years, but unless you're an up-and-coming roadie you're not going to get the best support, although lately that seems to have changed so they're not complete tits. Aaaaaaanyway, just try Googleing "British Cycling" or something, and you're sure to come up with their e-mail address. If not, let me know and I can try and get an address of one of their people from my friend who's our county's sports officer...

From looking at vids of me and other riders, I'd say more like the first one (but not necessarily thinking "Hmm, that was 43°! Incorrect!" or whatever. It just basically means that as you lower the front, the pedal will naturally lift back around the stroke, so when you stamp on it it'll be nearer to the horizontal position so you can land easily, if you get me? But yeah, like Ad said, just do what comes naturally (N) Try it, see which one works.

I really want to do one. I was uber annoyed I missed the first one, now I'm gonna miss the second one (N) It just sucks. The main problem wasn't so much riding the comp 'cos that's just like 11-4, it's just that I wouldn't get home til past 7:30-8 o'clock (was going to have to leave here at 6am to get there for registration :)). It sucks though, 'cos loads of people I know from here are going and I really just want to meet everyone again and do some cool riding... Ah well :) Mark EDIT: Forgot to say too, my Mum would be taking me and she's got an inspection at her school the week after, so she's got some work to do for that, so even though she said she was cool with taking me I knew she'd be a bit frazzled if she did.

I got some new Beringer bars for my Federal from the Bike Show, and didn't get a chance to cut 'em down from their mammoth width. I'd been riding with them and they felt shit, and I hated my bike... Cut an inch off each side last night, and oh my word, it feels awesome now. Just got so much more control (N) Learnt 360 tyre-taps just like "that" just now... Just feels so good! Really digging BMXing at the moment, mostly 'cos I don't have a trials bike at the moment (set to change in like... a few hours or so). Mark

Those paper bikes are pretty intense! Anyway - the Levelboss. Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?! Basically, they've straightened out the curved seattube by putting in two straight bits then welding them at an angle. Surely it'd have to be super stiff to not put any strain from flexing on the randomly angled weld? Not to mention the fact it looks shit...

I think it's pretty cool over-all, although it might be better if there was a graphical theme that was sort of consistent throughout it, just to give it a bit more of a "together" look? Other than that, and a few spelling/grammatical errors, it was pretty cool (Y) Good job :S Mark

The ACS 14t freewheels are pretty butch, to be fair. Might need to keep an eye on the spacers inside as they sometimes have a habit of lunching themselves. On the back though, the freewheel pressure is reduced so it should be cool :S You don't even need to weld them or locktite them shut either 'cos the motion of the wheel doesn't unscrew the lockring.

'lo. Firstly, it's late, and I've just written a 4,000 word essay on "Compare and Contrast Plato And Aristotle's Views on the Acquistion of Ethical Understanding", plus I spent 6 hours in a darkroom earlier, and thus feel like shit. Therefore, this may be wrong. It's just unlikely :S Using Mr. Calculator, you can work out the ratio you will need from what you have now. Basically, if you want to run 16:14, it will feel like a 22:19 ratio. So long as you're cool with that, we'll continue. The Revolver hub has two sides: standard thread, and the Micro-drive system, compatible with compact BMX freewheels. Basically, that's 14t freewheels and under. Therefore the ACS 14t freewheel will only fit on the narrower of your threads, typically the "left" if you've been running a standard freewheel so far. If your wheel's dished badly or you're using the disc adaptor, you'll be raped. If your wheel build's good though, you'll simply need to slip your tyre off, turn the wheel round, and put the tyre back on, assuming it's directional. There is actually a 14t freewheel made by "AC" - NOTE: NOT ACS, I don't think... - that is compatible with standard threads. However, as you can imagine, you're putting 10lbs of shit into a 5lb bag, so it's not super strong. I'd recommend the ACS Fat 14t over it, to put it another way. Anyway, if you've got any queries, PM me and I'll reply in the morning whilst I'm putting off writing the conclusion for previously mentioned essay... Mark
