According to the PM from Steve, he's trying to recoup some of the investment he made on the pad moulding process and shiz, or something. They're only on offer to "people who showed interest before", at the moment, from what I can tell.

Isn't it Echos or ZOO!'s that die straight out of the box, thread-wise? I still don't get why we have cranks that have replaceable pedal inserts and freewheel threads, yet we still don't hvae a simple little helicoil in frames as standard :- Stronger, better, but no...

DangerousDave's latest video, maybe on the next page back. Called "Recycling.wmv" or something. Snaps 'em at the end, then says "Friends don't let friends ride Orange trials forks"?

They can't *really* cover stripped threads though, 'cos that'd lead onto loads of shit like, for example, people stripping their BB shells, which in 99.9% of cases is mechanic's error. So I suppose there's not much they could do with you, 'cept tell you to either a) go on to Google and look for a helicoil kit for M5-sized bolts, or b) go to your local engineer/bikeshop/mechanic and ask them to helicoil it for you...

It would've bent further back if that was the case, not that far forwards, which is caused by it being twatted. The bash mount at the front effectively moved closer to the centre of the tubing near the frame, so that'd just mean it'd bend over the elastomer part. However, this bashguard hasn't (going from the pics), as it looks like the bend is further up the bashguard, into an area which wouldn't have been particularly affected by the movement of the mount. Also, the mount wouldn't make a big bulge like that, but repeatedly twatting it would. If you think I've got it wrong though, explain why 'cos I might not have remembered the pics properly... EDIT: This is the pic I was thinking of: That mount at the front moving in wouldn't have caused the bash to fold like that, so it IS just from it being twatted.

There were quite a few being worn, but I know a lot of people bought them on the day (I'm wearing mine now :)), so it's all good :-
-
Well, I had a £10 note, Sue didn't have £7.50 change, so I said she could take £5, give me £5 and gimme a band. So she did the sensible thing and gave me two. I didn't really need one on each arm, so I gave one to you as you were the nearest, plus the whole trials-shack thing :o

Koxx Bloxx + my brake = stiff Heatsink Konigs + my brake = spongey Don't see any "open bleed bolts to allow in air" there, Danny :o

The crowd would need to be covered, wouldn't they? You'd have to make sure that everything had "collapse" room or whatever the hell it is, meaning it has to have an area around it where it won't fall onto anything else or something weird like that :o I seem to remember that cropping up in a bikeshow thread... Pallets 'n' shiz are you friend. Head over to www.vtcz.ch and check out their demo vids for any ideas.
-
That is hella weird :o I don't get why it went there, seeing as it's supported either side by the cups, so shouldn't *really* be under a hell of a lot of pressure?
-
With regards to who asked about threads, I'm guessing it's the same way you do spirals just with the Helix tool majigger. Can't remember off hand what it's called though :"> Basically though, you just draw the shape that you want to spiral (or make look like a thread), set a sketch path for it to follow along, then set the parameters.

f**k all, in the same way people still post in Chit Chat? Aaaaaaaanyway, I go in there a bit just to scope out who needs validation. Dunno how Trials Boy got validated again, seeing as he's Mat_da_trials_star, Cadburys, etc. Probably turn out it was me who did it, but I don't remember clicking it... Ah well... Mark

Echoing what Tomm said, mine are pretty good (worked really well in the wet yesterday!), but the lever feel somewhat lets them down. You have to sorta set your TPA in further than you usually would, just so it applies the pressure earlier so you get the optimum bite and the point you prefer it at... Isn't it a bit of a stupid idea to try and bulk-buy products taht are still, according to their creator, in the testing phase? Steve's already said he's going to address the rapid wear-rate problems that a lot of people are having, so buying a load of the current batch of Konigs might be a bit counter-productive? It does seem that Steve's doing pretty well now though materials-wise, judging from the fact that these are pretty much the grippiest Heatsink pads I've ever used, but seem to be wearing OK really? They're still disappearing faster than I'd really want to at £14 a pair, but considering how soft and grippy they are it's not too bad*. Mark *I know hardness and durability aren't linked, but it shows that there's some definite experimentation going on with it...

'cept for Mr. Akrigg :o Anyway, Araldite it back together you woman :(

Link: http://www.eengoedidee.nl/videoz/download....M9TM228AAD0x-yo Least, I think it is... http://www.eengoedidee.nl/parsefiles/?type...ames_trials.wmv Or that? I wouldn't worry about what people think you should improve too much, just go nuts and try something new :o

Indeed, no amazing natural spots, no Worlds rounds, no shitload of comps, no amazing towns and cities to ride in. No, no, no :o
-
I wasn't refering to frames, but fair enough.
-
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaah :"> Thought he meant the rider on the mod in the pic... Nah, from the looks of it, he's doing a front touch of his own.
-
Not possibly Onzaboymark - definitely Onzaboymark :o Cheers for taking the pics! For the record: Sam Wheeler's a f**king beast! He was doing some mental stuff... Up to front switch to backwheel majigger up about 45" or so - the hella big skip with one pallet in front. Was insane...

Backwheel, sans touch. -
Nah, not Sam Wheeler, 'cos he was all in black 'n' stuff? Yeah, I was just milling around there. I don't remember seeing you, but that's mainly 'cos I don't know what you look like :D It's great when people start drinking, it's just funny hearing the stories. That text message Tic sent to Bigman with "We're at Rich's house and he's got full on gay porn" and stuff like that - t'was all good. As was the hog roll :P

Not read the whole post, but would like to comment on the above. Mark, that’s an interesting accusation. I am not in the habit of making excuses, neither am I shy of telling a customer the facts surrounding a warranty enquiry. Thankfully I receive very few complaints about the products I sell, in the rare event of failure it’s always important to establish if the item in question broke or was broken. If its later I endeavour to give the customers the benefit of the doubt, but if the broken item appears to have been run over by a truck, then sorry no deal. Would you like to post some facts surrounding the “excuses “claim you have made and if in fact I have ever heard of the individual, (as there seems to be a spate of complaints about frames by people that we or our dealers have never dealt with), I will be pleased to explain any comments I have made or made on my behalf. I must say I find that you usually make fair comments regardless of the brand under discussion, is it possible that you have been sold a rumour? Fred Savage. ←

The only pic of the course I managed to get, from a poop angle! My camera batteries died a minute later, after I'd just taken a video of an over-view of the course, with Prawn sneaking into the shot, sidehopping onto the spool, then gapping onto the upturned skip...

My camera died seconds later, so I've only got this one pic and an uber short video of the course. -
That was a freaking awesome day :D I was going to make a post when I got home (about the same time as Danny & Tomm), but I had to make my bed before I went to bed, and I had to get up at 9-ish this morning to go to work :o Anyway, riding was awesome. Everyone got on super well, everyone just had a laugh. Met loads of people from here who I knew online but didn't actually know in person. Prawn and Bigman rule :D Even if everyone did have a go at me for being "disappointed" I didn't have a proper Welsh accent :P I'm kinda pissed now I waited for so long to start riding. Just wondered about not really doing much for the first 2 hours, started riding, then it pissed it down. Huddled for a while under the thing then started riding, and it was all good, even in the wet. Got me an FBM T and band too, so glad I could help out in some way :( Thanks again to Sue and Charlie for everything, Em too, and basically everyone who helped setup and organise the day, everyone who attended, and Jon for giving me a lift down and back :P It's all much appreciated. Mark P.S. I was the guy on an Onza T-Lite L, wearing jeans and a white long sleeve T-shirt with a red T-shirt over the top (silver Giro Xen for more detail :o)!
