  1. I've got 15 black pads too :-
  2. Seriously, they can. I can't really be arsed typing any more, but people do just make up stereotypes sometimes, then people who sorta hold a similar view and jump on the bandwagon, then one thing leads to another and we end up with the twat BNP...
  3. WTF? :- "Corner Shops" aren't around any more because people prefer going to supermarkets because there's more variety and generally lower prices? So I don't know how "ethnic" people have taken them away  QUOTE(Trials Punk @ Jun 17 2005, 09:39 AM) What I find rediculous is the fact that they have taken away the bibles and cross's out of hospital churchs as it can offend other religions and cultures. They have taken away our own culture in some places and that I find disgusting. ← Seriously Kyle, have you actually read any news reports on that at all? The Muslim community who the hospital were worried about offending even asked to have the bibles put back. They even said they don't give a shit whether they're there because it simply doesn't matter. They've even ostracised the family that did complain about it because they didn't support the decision, and they didn't think it should happen. So blaming one racial group for one hospital taking some Gideons Bibles out because one family made a decision no-one else supported seems a bit shitty. Also, maybe they were telling the truth when they said they were worried about the risk of spreading MRSA through the book itself? We don't actually let in that many asylum seekers, to be fair. It's just that people seem to not actually think when they talk about them. It's like when people are talking about gay people and they go "I don't mind, but if they come onto me I'll f**king kill them." If people actually even thought for one second about that, they'd realise how totally stupid it is to say shit like that... Anyway, I digress - the illegal immigrants are the problem, but the way the majority of the f**ktard British population seem to see someone who isn't as white as the purest snow and think "f**king illegal immigrants" is completely wrong, and also it's just causing un-necessary hostility which leads to negative shit happening. Also, generalising people's positions into "the reasons that they left their country in the first place were over" is stupid. It's the general policy that people who try and escape their country are killed/arrested when they return, simply because that's how it seems to work. This is typically why people will try to gain illegal asylum here because they don't believe the system works and will try anything to stay here. If they're willing to go through shady situations like those super over-crowded boats and so on, and are willing to pay huge sums of money to people-smuggling rings (one ring was based in a chip-shop in a little town 28 miles from here (Y)), doesn't that kinda suggest they've got some pretty f**king good reasons to be leaving? Meh, I know you're not racist or anything Kyle, it's just that there are so many f**king tools in the UK who blatantly are but do the "I'm not racist, but..." thing that it's getting a bit ridiculous...
  4. That's cool Ben. But yeah, if you wanna try out those Magura ceramic-specific pads, I've got some here you could try?
  5. "The new 231Ti´06 Full Disc supposes one more step in the evolution of the bicycles, a new concept that will not make anybody indifferent." Monty speak > Deng speak Don't get how it's "the most adavanced [sic] trials bicycle" either. I don't get why they don't use the Brisa-style disc mounting system either? Seems a shitload stronger than just bodging the tab on the outside of the frame...
  6. Awesome (Y) I used to love those Trialsride.com videos, was showing them to another rider round here yesterday, specially that one with the hip-hop music where Mart does that series of drops down a seating block, there's a pause in the music, and his hitting the fence sounds like a cymbal crash - good shit :- You lot all still in Aber now or have you finished uni and moved away? I'll hopefully be riding in Aber some time soon if you fancy a ride
  7. I thought the whole idea of the BB itself was a bit shit, but no, I was just thinking structure wise it might've been an issue.
  8. As long as it's got the right style frame, right company logo, right spec, etc.? :'( For example, in BMX people seem to look down on Nyquist 'cos he's got 4 pegs, 2 brakes etc. C'est la vie I guess, it doesn't really stop you doing what you want to do, and as long as that's the case I don't really see a problem with fashion victims...
  9. Probably because in black communities previously, white people were the people who were oppressing black people, and thus being racist. Shitty reputations are hard to shake I suppose, although I guess nowadays with chav culture, it's just all a different way of having a go at each other :'(
  10. I sort of assumed he did, but I didn't really get why he said it if that was the case :'( Could just be the classic internet problem of tone of voice not coming through...
  11. Nice utopian view, but isn't the case, really. Also, racial equality isn't about acknowledging people are equal, it's more about the fact that it's how people are treated that is the problem. e.g. Apartheid, slavery, and so on. If you think white people have a shitty deal now 'cos we can't say "nigger" without people possibly getting offended, it's not really in the same league as us not being allowed to go in a bus with other people because of our skin colour. Oh, wait, it's more fun to be f**king ignorant and retarded. [f**king ignorant and retarded]Haha, I'm saying nigger and you can't stop me haha [/f**king ignorant and retarded]
  12. I just wouldn't have any faith in Magura blacks for trials. We had a Da-Bomb in our shop with black pads, and you could make the brake slip by locking both on and pressing down on the pedals. With ceramic rims, maybe (Although maybe the dedicated Magura greenfrog (I think it's "green frog" anyway :'() ceramic pads might be better?), but...hmm. I know Rowan Johns used* to use them, but like I say - *I* wouldn't trust them... *Note: USED to
  13. My 2 pence :'( Basically, I went from a T-Pro to a T-Lite. The stays on the T-Lite were a fair amount shorter (I had to take a link out of the chain), and it made it sit really nicely on the backwheel, but I just couldn't get my head around backwheeling it. This is mainly 'cos I'm 6'2 riding a piss-short mod, but basically, it's all about finding a balance. This just looks too much like a "I'm bored... hmm... I wonder how short we could make...ermm... chainstays?" frame, in a way. I know it'll have had a lot of development put in and so on, but I think it's more of an exercise of production capability more than anything else. Jeopardising the BB shell just to save 5mm of tyre clearance is a bit whack, really. I'd have thought having the weld around the edge of a hole in the frame wouldn't be shit-hot, but I'm sure you're "proud FEA" drawings will have shown up any weaknesses, assumnig you've managed to accurately do the welds...
  14. Why it's always as well to check your bike over so you can keep the BB tight and not ride with it loose or anything (and use crank extractors ). Have you tried PTFE tape? PFTE maybe... summat like that, anyway. It sorta fills out the thread almost, so if you've got any thread left it *might* work... Alternatively, talk to Onza about maybe getting a half-price replacement? It won't be a free warranty job obviously 'cos it's basically your fault, not manufacturing defect, but it's better than nothing :'(
  15. I used to try and ride trials stuff on a mtb with RockShox Judys on, and I always found the only way it didn't feel properly shite was if I set them up pretty stiff. Giving them a stiffer feel will just make them more precise, will help with balancing ('cos you can move the front wheel more easily without having to go through much travel from pumping them down, if you get me?), and so on. Having them just to absorb the harsher sort of impacts, and to make it a bit more fun to pump into manuals/bunnyhops seemed the best sort of way to use them. Your call though :- Anyway, just keep them on for a bit longer. If you like the feel, try and maybe get some sorta short travel - like the 85mm Jonny Jones runs - forks. Maybe asking on OTN would be good, 'cos they seem more inclined to run sus forks?
  16. Really? How so? (Just out of curiosity!)

    Help Needed

Whoa, that was weird - I'm almost certain that didn't say "too much torque to the bolt" when I clicked quote :- Anyway, I had this when I put a new star-nut in my forks. Whenever I tightened it, it just slipped up. It was a case of have a loosey-goosey headset, or pull the nut out. In the end, I put a star-nut in, then put one of the "stars" from one of our spare star nuts in on top, and that did the trick, pretty much. Just gave it a bit of extra help to stop pulling out. Anyway, it SHOULD be a tight fit getting it in. If it isn't, you'd have trouble. Basically, you can try and tap it in with a hammer and a tube or some kind, but it's more hassle lining it up than if you take it to your LBS, where they should have a little tool which is like a dome with a tube out the back, and a little spike poking out of the dome. Basically, it follows the shape of a star-nut which has been pushed in, and the tube out the back keeps it all aligned. Easy peasy! Mark
  18. I wasn't aware they had, I just thought they said that the "trials mod" wasn't really a "trials" mod, if you get me? 'cos how would they know what your hub had been up to?
  19. The hole's there because basically, they've worked out the radius of the wheel, have measured it back from the dropout to the BB shell, then moved it as close as they can. To make sure the tyre will fit, they've had to remove part of the BB shell. No hole = tyre rubbage, I'm guessing.

    Tech 05

http://www.ymsa-biketrials.co.uk Seems to suggest on there there WILL be UCI rounds held? Unless they've updated again and I haven't checked :-

    Python

Made of aluminium, in Taiwan. Not *really* doing the whole "Supporting UK bike companies" thing fully. Could argue you were supporting a UK bike company by saying "Buy Onza", but of course it wouldn't be steel so it wouldn't count :- Steve-A's was a one-off, more or less, wasn't it?
  22. Not only are New Members not allowed to post "For Sale" topics, you're also required to put a minimum asking price too.
  23. Sketchy question, really - people seemed to think the Onza adaptors were "super flexy", but I didn't find that at all either on the front or the back... They look pretty cool though, and it seems a decent amount of thought's gone into them, so I suppose if you *Really* must have V-brakes they'd be a good investment.
