  1. How long before someone links that OTN thread here? :)
  2. I don't have the exact quote, but like I said - Benito apparently said it was too weak, even for use in comps. £750 with a totally shit warranty isn't great, really.
  3. True. Pretty much my feeling on it too...
  4. x2 from me :D Yeah, it's just not worth the £300-odd extra, seeing as they seem to crack sooner. It'll look pimper, but to quote Benito: "They break quickly even in comp use" or summat like that. Just go for the Levelboss :)
  5. What, in Cheltenham? :) Fair enough about the testing, how much did they wear in a month, and what rim surface was he using?
  6. Well, I guess theoretically you could, but basically they haven't in their design (Y)
  7. Judging from the testing Deng seems to do though, is that *really* testing or are we going to have Pads V2.0 released in 3 hours? If it's you testing it, you've not had them long, so how would you know?
  8. It had loads of engagements, mainly 'cos it had loads of ratchet point bits on the shell, and 4 or 6 pawls (can't remember?), but only ONE engaged at a time. One pawl, holding all your weight? If that one pawl skips, then all of your force is going to go straight onto the next pawl, which pretty much won't take all that strain (think of how other hubs skip, then even with 2+ pawls next it still skips fully?), so you're just f**ked. I don't think I'd *ever* buy a single pawl engagement hub, unless I fancy quick dental work.
  9. Haha, I love the way Deng's such a good businessman, he's making loads of money, we're getting done over and everyone hates him, yet still lines his pockets ;) Why pay for testing when you can just sell the frame, then work out problems after? Gooooooooooooooo team! (Y)
  10. I'm guessing for moisture retention? EDIT: Or to open the f**ker  Frozen skin = no peeling?
  11. True. However, with BMX chains you CAN make the plates thicker, whereas you can't on a 3/32 chain because they'll rape the other cassette sprockets  However, the KMC has the same side plates, I believe.
  12. You basically need more clearance if you're runnign a cassette between the chain plates and the mech's teeth. Therefore you need a thinner chain. BMXers have never had this problem, so they went for the wider gauge. Therefore, two versions. Technically, the load is shared over a longer pin so it's stronger if it's wider. But who knows?
  13. I believe the only difference is the pin width; the plates should be identical. The pins will have a difference of approx. 0.78 of a millimetre, so we're talking f**king tiny. 0.078cm difference. Not really much
  14. Same here, I've usually been fine. My X-pedals pedal body's start pretty far away from the spindle though, unlike - say - VP's or something, so I guess that'll have helped.
  15. Should be just a case of tightening the spokes in the bit where it goes "up", if you get me? Just imagine it's a buckle, but in a different way :D So yeah, if it's "up" you need to pull it towards the hub, meaning tightening spokes? If it's a Try-All rim, they have a lovely habit of coming pre-egged, and being virtually impossible to get round again (Y)
  16. Oh, and according to an eye witness he was shot with a pistol, which I'd imagine would either be a Browning or maybe a Glock? Anyway, why the crap would terrorists use the G3A3, when if memory serves that's the bloody long rifle? Terrorists don't use shit like that because it's harder to conceal, isn't it? That's the boy. Seeing as most terrorist acts are commited in built up areas, how the f**k are you going to use that in close-quarters fighting? Either way, as Munki was saying it doesn't matter anyway...
  17. Eh? Don't think anyone needs one in this thread (Y)
  18. I wonder if it'll turn out that he was actually part of a Cell, and it was just like a dry-run or something... Ah well, I guess we'll find out the censored version in the news before the weekend (Y)
  19. Fair enough. The fact that he WAS wearing the thick coat and a rucksack all kinda were a bit unlucky. Can kinda see why they might've been suspicious (Y) I don't get why the family are still getting all arsey with the police. Yes, they shot their son, but why the f**k was he doing what he was doing? He under surveillance and so on, so surely he must've been up to something sketchy, and the way he acted in the tube station didn't help him...
  20. Hey dude, A fair wodge of info and a loada pics of the internals 'n' shit are available on the TartyBikes website (Y)
  21. I don't really see what that's got to do with it? Either way, the point I was making is that people in non-uniform aren't going to be as obvious as people in full, hi-vis. uniform, are they? Which is basically what you were saying they were in...

    New Car Time

Ironically, that's the sort of car that the person would get it and drive it really slow through town, just to show it off (Y) Don't get why boy racers mod their engines when all they do is drive to their favourite car park (or public toilets here :D ) and sit there talking to each other...
  23. Wow, so Craig can lie to me and try to get me believe my frame is cracked in PERSON now. Joy. Anyway, yeah, I'm supposed to be sending my CV to one shop there, and I'm going there next week (Hopefully...) to scope it all out (Y)

    .~

Hey dude, Same happened with my T-Mag/Master front hub. Basically, the little grub screws just hold on the little spacery bits that hold the bearings in place and space out the axle, pretty much. They're not used to actually tighten the bearings in place, as you can't really apply the pressure to tehm to do that. Either way, it's new bearings or new hub time. I picked up a cheap secondhand Mag/Master front hub from Bongo, and all was well after that (Y)

    High Bb

If he's your mate, blag a coupla goes on it? Try and see if you can adjust bar/lever angle and shit to your style too. If you say you're doing it with an eye to buying it, he might be cool with it? (Y)
