Yeah, same as Deng. They've both got some pretty underhand business techniques that are super good at getting them loads of money. They're just really good businessmen. We know that Deng is a shady b*****d, yet everyone buys into the ZOO!/Echo/GU thing. *sigh*

Even if you don't like the look of a helmet, try it on at least just to get an idea for what size you might need. Every company has a different average head size they make helmets for, so they'll all fit different even if one's Met's 58-62cm and the Giro one's 58-62cm or whatever. But yeah, just try stuff on. DON'T BUY ANYTHING THAT DOESN'T FIT! Regarding the ACS Claw, Locktite Threadlock would work. Alternatively, ANY glue will work - it just needs to basically sit in the threads and provide something to stop the lockring from being shaken free from vibrations and from the small amount of force that the rotation of the freewheel will exert. Even putting some paint around the edge of lockring near the threads and onto the threads of the main part of the freewheel. It just provides some resistance so it should be sorted then :shifty: Make sure you clean all grease/lube from the threads pre-glueing :D

The hub you're thinking of is the Megamo Bikegas hub. Someone was/is selling one on here, so just look around :shifty: Other than that, try finding out what rear hubs Ot Pi and Cesar Canas use? Should be in some Bike Check somewhere on a website :D Mark

All taken from that same OTN thread :shifty: EDIT: Oh, and that's Vincent's bike.

Blatantly copied too. Koxx all over, really :shifty:

Sounds like a plan, as long as the pictures aren't fakes like some chumps posted up here before (they said they 'backwheeled' a rock, when they were blatantly just backhopping near the edge of it :shifty:\). Anyway, it'll have to be something like curbs/pallets just because like people have said, that's the only standardized thing. Moved it to Sites, Vids 'n' Pics. Will make it a Sticky or something if it goes ahead, we can have a rules thread so it's all fair 'n' stuff...

It makes the bike more flicky similar to a mod, yet still retaining the sorta stability that stocks have. They feel super good, even I'm tempted :shifty: Anyway, yeah, just frame, probably forks, and rims are needed. As well as tyres 'n' tubes, obviously :D

Here's the deal: When frame designers put a sub-frame for a bashguard on a frame, it needs to be gusseted to f**k. When you use a bash, it is typically (or should be :deej:\) because you have just fudged something up, and you are basically falling onto it. This means muchos force. This force is going through the plate and into the mounts. Some will be absorbed by the elastomer, but most will still rape your frame. Look at the T-Mags. No gusset; no strength. Trialsboy560's punched through his frame. Look at the T-Pros. Gussets; strength. The Python has presumably got a slightly thinner/lighter downtube because of the fact it doesn't have a bashplate mount on it. This is because, simply, they don't need as much reinforcement in the tube, and therefore, then take it away to save weight. This means, if you plan to put a plate on and the mounts, you WILL need to make some kinda heinous gussetry. The same is true for the chainstay mount points. You WILL need to gusset these. Otherwise, it'll just f**k your chainstays. To put the gussets and mounts on, you will need to weld them on. Aluminium isn't shit hot for welding, in fairness. It's possible, but typically engineers will go "Hmm" in an expensive sounding way. Also, if you don't heat-treat the frame after, the gussets will still rip through the downtube/chainstays because they're theoretically harder than the tubing, and the materials haven't joined together fully as their grains will be different (dumbed down, or I'm just wrong). To summarise - to put a bashguard on a ZOO! Python, you will need: A f**king good welder/engineer. Heat-treatment for the frame after. Some properly shit-hot designs. Gussets. Some more gussets. Two more. A plate, elastomer and bolts. Oh, and the mounts themselves. Typically, they have M6 bolt holes, I believe. Same as V-brake pivots bolts, 'cos that's what's holding mine on :bunny: Either way, it's really not such a great idea. You're likely to f**k the downtube up pretty badly if you don't really, really design, fabricate and then attach the mounts well, and either way, the distributors response to the warranty claim you'll have to make when your downtube caves in will probably be along the lines of: ...AHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHAHAHAHAHAHA... AAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHA. etc. It's just not worthwhile. I 10x prefered a bashring on my mod to a plate, but there we go :deej: But nah, don't do it :(

Worked for my bars, which have a matt finish I believe. I just soaked the grips in water, then put 'em on. As you put them on, you wring out the water anyway, so by the time you're done they're dry and ready to go (Y) Other than that, it's the smallest amount of GT-85 possible, and brute force (Y)

Oh yeah, forgot to say - it felt too short for me, but I'm 6' 2" or so. This is me riding the T-Lite Long, just to put it in perspective for you :wink2:
-
Metal-metal contact = grease it, 'cept pawls (Y) Generally works pretty well, stops creaks 'n' shit. There are obvious exceptions, but it works for most stuff :wink2: Keep stuff tight. Don't ride stuff that's loose, as it'll destroy the component and potentially some connected ones. It's not worth doing, and it's dangerous...

Haven't seen a decent trials vid in ages, so I was kinda expecting this to be more of the same tired old crap. I was certainly a little wrong (Y) Really, really good video. The music suited it really well, and the riding was... well, I think "f**king monumental" would cover it. That gap from the high wall to that sorta square, blocky other raised wall was cool. Pretty hefty :wink2: Really good video though, well worth downloading (Y) Was that a live version of that song? OR did the compression of the vid make it sound more 'live'/rough?

The T-Lite's basically the same length as the X-Lite 221. It shares pretty similar geometry. I couldn't really stand my "regular" T-Lite; it just didn't do what I wanted it to do. Upping made me feel really limited on it, and it just wasn't really what I was looking for in a frame. I managed to blag a T-Lite Long (one of the very few ever made, none left for sale), and it was OK at first, but I wasn't super keen on it. I then arranged to PX it for another frame, went out for the last few rides on it and loved it. Gutted I sold it now, 'specially seeing as I f**ked myself over with the deal I gave Will (Y) But yeah, if you like the Monty-style geometry, it should be cool. Plus, if you're dinky as your name suggests it might fit you pretty well :wink2:

Ride my BMX every day, basically. That's assuming it's not raining, obviously. Might go out on my trials bike if it stops raining even if it's still damp out, but BMX = hella sketch if it's wet out :wink2:\

Hehe, no problem. I think I was wearing it all the time 'cept for when we were in the car, and I don't remember you sitting on me, so I think we're all good :ermm: I think Sam stayed on, then started playing with Porter and everyone? I think some people (me included :() just sorta rode, got wet, huddled for warmth under stands, rode, got wet, huddled for warmth - repeat :D Was a super good time though. Saw Em there, and Wheeler's sister, but don't know what anyone else looks like. Saw some girls sitting by the cars by that hog roast guy? Speaking of: Nicest sandwich-type product ever right there :(

It'd only be driven slowly past those faggots so they'd realise that if they actually got jobs and didn't just get their job-seekers, they'd be able to afford a real car as opposed to a tiny little hatchback my Mum used to have, and wouldn't have to just put tin cans on the back so it was louder and wouldn't have to get some bits of plastic to hang off it to make it look like a spaceship. Or get that window-tinting stuff so people didn't have to look at their minging 12-year-old pregnant girlfriends in the passenger seat. Or them. You can feel the love in here :(
-
Continued on riding though :D Just got hella wet. And got to see Nick do some pretty mad stuff, in the pissing wet, on pallets, grass and skips. Kudos to him :( That was the most fun ride I've had, and some of it was in the rain. Potentially the one and only time I've ever thought "Way cool!" when I've been riding in the rain...
-
I know what you mean about riders and stuff, I was just saying that good riders can ride any bikes, and therefore do ride many different ones, but just because X uses it it isn't necessarily the best option. If I wanted to, I could pretty easily afford to pay £750 for a frame, but I wouldn't as I can't justify it. I don't want to buy a copy of it. And I've basically been listing the reasons I didn't want to buy it, which is what has formed my opinion on it? So I don't really get how expressing my opinion about which frame would be best to get in a thread that is precisely about that? But yeah, like you say - might as well leave it :(

Moved to Ride/Locations...

That was kinda confusing :D The more you spend the better quality yes, however, there IS such a thing as over-charging, which Koxx and Monty and most "main" manufacturers are blatantly, blatantly guilty of doing. The fact that the XTP is ridden by Worlds champions means the geometry's good. That's pretty much it. And even then, as I think you've pointed out before: Chris Akrigg is riding pretty damn well now, on his Mongoose-branded GT. He also rode well on a T-Raptor. However, he also rode well on a Justice. Basically, he rode just as well (in fact, his comp results were better on the T-Raptor, weren't they?) on the £170-ish T-Raptor as he did the £400 Justice. So a good rider on a good bike will generally be good anyway (with limits, of course)? Either way, again, if I'm laying down 3/4 of a grand on a frame I'd rather it had some kind of warranty on it, and had a better reputation for strength, really.

Fortunately, all the faggots here (the boy racers that is) meet up by the side of the road in this little drive into a car-park, next to the men's toilets. I laugh. Anyway, yeah, just getting a fancy-ass car like that and really slowly driving past all their Fiestas and shitty Ford vans would be diamond...

Holy f**k! You kept that a bit of a secret, you sly dog :ermm: Either that, or I'm retarded. Looks cool anyway, Mr. Tommy, glad to see you've got it all at last. How's it going now? Huge disappointment or are you likin' it? EDIT: Rich - either on the fire, or put 'em on like the WTP Mono/Addict frames have their stickersets on :(

Seriously - how many owners of new Ferrari cars are going to think "Hmm, let's pop down to MaccyD's" :ermm:

First off, Wayne, I was told that quote by someone. I seem to remember a wee bit of trouble at Bike last year with his frame, but either way - his words, not mine. Secondly, you're going to be biased yourself anyway, aren't you? So you WOULD say go for the XTP? Either way, from the XTP stocks they just don't last long enough to justify the £750 with, like I said, a totally shit warranty. The Levelboss mods seem pretty damn strong themselves, and they're considerably cheaper.
