  1. So I may as well just buy a whole new BB rather than just the cups? Surpose I may as well get it all done now as ive had that BB for a long time and its a pain un-doing bolts to do with the drivetrain. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Shimano-Saint-HollowTech-II-BB-bottom-bracket-68-73mm-BB80-fits-XT-XTR-SLX-/270944601761?pt=UK_sportsleisure_cycling_bikeparts_SR&hash=item3f158e86a1#ht_500wt_1416

    Bb Cups

Hello. I noticed one of my Bottom bracket cups has cracked so im looking for some new cups. Im not big hardcore mountain biker anymore and I just use the bike to get around on really. Would some shimano cups for £15 do the trick or should I pay a little extra and go for £20-£30 cups? EDIT: I need the external cups http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/SearchResults.aspx?Search=bb+cups
  3. No its ISIS. Not to bad, £15 for the cups and to change them over. £30 for the whole new BB. I was going to drill it out myself yesterday but I only have drill bits for wood/brick.
  4. Just checked it over and its the bb cup that has split. Im having trouble getting the left side bolt off (side the bb cup is cracked). Ive put some lube in the bottom and use a metal bar on the end of the hex key but the bolt is rounded off. I have no problem getting the drive side bolt out. Looks like im going to have to pay £30. £15 for the bb cups and £15 for the bike mechanic to drill the bolt out.
  5. It may have. Ile have to borrow the 8mm hex key of a mate to take the cranks off a check it first. The bearings seem to be just over £20 which I really can't afford right now so I hope its not the bearings.
  6. Hello. Was out riding tonight on my mtb and all of a sudden it felt as if the cranks were lose. I tried to rattle the crank arms but the whole crank arms/bottom bracket moved together inside the casing. I have the truvativ cranks with the external casing (quite a few years old now) so im not sure which bearings (if that is the bearings that are gone) that I will need. /Thanks
  7. Thanks Tomm. I did squeeze both brakes about 5 times and they didn't feel any different. I will try again tomorrow to see if the avid juicy 5 is actually poorly.
  8. Hello. I come to my bike after its been in the shed for a while ( 6months ish). I squeezed both brake levers and fluid came out. On the avid juicy 5 the fluid came out of the "." on the "!" on the resevoir cap. On the avoid juicy 3 the fluid came out of the seal where the hose connects to the lever. Im guessing for the avid juicy 5 just a new resevoir cap/re-bleed will be ok but what do I need to fix the avid juicy 3? EDIT: I just checked ebay and it may be just as good to buy an avid juicy 5 for the rear (upgrade from my 3) and then for the front just buy the resevoir cap/re-bleed for the front.
  9. Brilliant! I miss trials a lot but quit it for weight training now I feel to big to ride trials, lol.

    Dmr V8

Hey! Ive had my dmr v8's for a while now and havn't greased them as there on my mountain bike which I tend to ride it once and leave it for a while. However I have started to ride it a lot more now and I have a feeling the bearings are gone. When I pedal, the right one squeaks a lot and when I rattle it with my hand it shakes a round. If I put my foot on the edge of the pedal when when im pedalling it makes a crunching noise now. Will a new set of bearings sort this or should I buy some new pedals? Im very tempted to just buy some newer cheaper pedals. I wont be doing mad jumps just 5mile bike ride 4x a week and maybe some trails. Ive just looked at how to service dmr v8's and half off my pins on missing and I can't replace as well as the re-grease port because I did use them for trials which screwed the thread where the pins go ~Thanks
  14. Hey bud, how do you want for the dmr v8 pedals and what colour are they?

  15. These bikes feel so short to ride. (Well mine did). With a longer stem they do ride very well
