  1. Tis actually a block to allow current to flow for welding, but hey :turned: Could be a lot of things. BB in the frame, cables, loose spoke etc etc.
  2. Needed a capo... Only had some old toothbrushes, some zip ties, an angle grinder and a stanley knife... it was a job for the A-Team :D Theres enough flex to allow me to remove and re-fit it as well :S No need to see my guitar, its only a £120-including-case-jobber, but it sounds good, and plays well :turned:
  3. All of those forks have an IS mount. Which means the same brake will fit on both forks. Its not as simple as just quoting a rotor size... different calipers will vary the rotor needed.
  4. Yeah thats the idea. Holes are more effective though - since they can scrape the whole of the pad.. Wavy discs also claim bigger surface area = faster cooling... but once again... more holes has the same effect. And its not really a big issue in trials. Lets face it, peope buy them cos they 'look better'. I believe the Italian company 'braking' have the patent on wavy rotors - but they specified internal and external diameters... so companies like viz can use an external-only wavy suface without infringing the patent. A double-wavy rotor (inside and outer edge) will scrape all of the pad surface if designed correctly.
  5. Although Chris actually never broke one due to riding it (dented the tubes to death a few times). Another cool vid (Y)
  6. Splines (Y) Although you'd probably call them arms... And learn to count Dan :D" All said, a rotor is a rotor. Heavy ones are stronger, lighter ones are weaker. Straight ones are best. As long as it has holes, your pads wont glaze over (unless theyre foll of poop). Thats all it needs to do really.
  7. Definitely a 'sitting in the garden playing topless guitar and then having a BBQ later this evening' day!

  9. 145 rear = #5 caliper. On the front, that means a 165 rotor. It all goes to put when you try and swap them round Stu, not really worth it!

    Pizza

Haha. Mmmm... apple! Pizza topping... err... ham & pineapple, sweet & sour chicken... other stuff (Y)
  11. (Y) She just doesnt like me!
  12. Some of my French is a bit rusty... but you get the idea, heh. Edit: Some irony: Classic.
  13. Gooooooooogglleeee (Y)
  14. Theres a new 'new' Echo rim you see... they used to be approx 750g, deep brushed sidewalls, but they now have changed to a 600g rim with machined sidewals. Good luck with replacing the spokes... give me a shout if you need any tips (Y) 262mm for the drive side.
  15. Yeah... I was kinda meaning having them do no moderating either... ie. no heirarchy.
  16. beniros@hotmail.com ? Its 'hola'.
  17. That would be a very interesting experiment...
  18. Do tell Dave, I wanna hear about these things. Who was it? Brand new or used rim? What spokes? And how many dents did the rim suffer? Cheers
  19. Me. Can't do anything about flat spots though. Nick, did you have the newer version of the rim? 'nick the only reason its f**cked is from when your mech went into the wheel down a hill and nearly ripped out the spokes.' Doesn't sound too promising though (Y)
  20. The logical place would be Magura UK though... seeing as they are the UK distributor! JT, whats your story? I once heard one about a bike that was sent out, and didnt arrive cos it got lost. And then it magically turned up back at the shop, so they could send it out again "
  21. Good idea, but its too soft, sorry. I tried it about 4 years ago.
  22. The lip is 'extra' to the sidewall... so removing it isnt gonna make any difference (Y) (compared to a 'normal' rim)
