Thanks. The bars are like LEON said Octane One Chemicals 3" rise. I bought them while I was on the trip over there. Snapped my pro atherton bar mid tour and decided to go for something more heavy. It weights around 450gr. I want to get starting with filming soon. Got to get in shape before camera starts rolling. I haven't ridden in 5 months. Got some sweet lines in mind though. Lets see what the summer brings.

My Marino frame and forks arrived one week ago. Finish building it up a couple os days ago. The frame kit is exactly as I wanted, geo and looks wise, very similar to what I thought and drawed on bikecad. Construction quality is very good overall! Really enjoy some details like the 135mm integrated headtube option, headtube gusset and the 25mm rake straight blade forks. I was quite suprised how this geometry feels. The 75º hta + 25mm rake is awesome for street while keeping the "cockpit" comfortable for trials. As matter in fact I never felt a bike so streety and so trials capable in any of my old bikes. Still need to fiddle a bit with stem size but overall the bike is spot on. Can wait to start getting comfortable on it! Some pics: A big thanks to Marino Bikes for the support!

Stick with the 100x30. You wont have a problem doing barspins with that stem. I guess it can even be done on a longer one. I do them with a 90x10 which is longer horizontally than 100x35. You just have to anticipate the hand that catches in order to be on the right place when the grip passes over your top tube.

Are the small holes on the removed tabs section from cast aluminium? -
I don't think its a competition but maybe I'm wrong to think that this video isn't exactly the "normal" showing one's riding type video there for not comparable. A "normal" riding video in a roughly concept is some kind of documentation of someone's stage/approach at riding there for it's for a smaller audience that understands the language and appreciate this kind of content. Even if it's repetitive it's you'll find diferences in execution, style whatever. Of course that when riders on top of their game are making videos there's a espetacular part of things that the common viewer will appreciate and the tables turn into a marketable image/publicity world. Maybe I miss interpreted the intention of someone using a expensive road bike for trials. But I think the concept is straight forward to the viewer. And this road bike version didn't add anything special to what was already done. Look at Akrigg he reinvents him self constantly even though he's is doing the same thing he as been doing since he's off a trials bike. Brumotti's content tend to normally seem like a "fast food" approach. Little riding, too much image, editing give more relevance to his image rather than his riding etc.. We could be here arguing semantics all day but at the end I'm just expressing my opinion towards his work.
-
Not trying to be picky or argumentative but let's take this as an example. Same concept but still a bit different. Ashton is riding 20k bike and this guy grabs his grandmas bike and shreds it pretty hard. He actually gave a good effort. I think that come threw in the edit. The purpose of Ashton/Brumotti videos is to be interesting because they are apparently road bikers doing stunts, which is the key point of the video being interesting for the masses. Well Ashton did this in a good way because he sticked to the concept, used a polemic bicycle (super light weight competition carbon road bike) and putted some effort to it in terms of riding/filming. Brumotti didn't add anything and used the same type of bike, a trendy fashion look and a bunch of comon moves which some of them not even given the effort for continuity. But this video was better than the last on in terms of riding and editing.
-
Don't want to sound too negative but I can't stop seeing Ashton's vid all over this sorry. And there's a big difference, Ashton put a lot more effort into it. Brumotti always seems to be tight on schedule/organization/resources when filming or just wants the quick buck out of others success. The rail line would be good if we could see all the line. How did he get up that rail? It's not bad doing videos for the masses but It felt like a poor copy cat of ashtons video. 100% Sellout I would say.

Unfortunately I'm without bike atm. So no clips from me I guess. Perhaps my new frame will arrive before 11 of May. Would be awesome! If not I'll be dedicated fully on to the video part which I'm also stoked about.
-
As always, pure awesome! Super smooth! Rail hop was scarry! Really nice to see more barspins combos. Tail tap gap to barspin totally came out of the blue. I was like: whooaa? niceee... If everything gets aligned as we programmed I'll be filming David for 10 days this next month over here in Porto, Portugal and in Galicia, Spain. Pretty stoked on having him over. I'll be concentrating all my efforts to the video side of things. Let's see what can we come with.

Looks awesome. But that shiny will disapear in 2 or 3 months and a white crackling pattern will appear which Is probably aluminum oxide or something of that kind. Did that to my inspired 2 years ago. Looked good for awhile though.

Sweet video! Chilled with a lot of trials lines! The bike suits your riding. Seems kind of a mod. Maybe because of the short CS. Looks very flickable and agile.

24" Streety Tyres...looking for experiences
Chaotic3vil replied to ben_travis's topic in Trials Chat
Been using Powerblocks for 1 year and they are pretty good. Amazing rolling resistance and grips really good. Never had problems with them.I don't puncture that much (except with small glass bits on the street after parties in the city center) . I use them between 55 to 70psi, maybe too much for you but its just a matter of getting use too. I choose these because I enjoy speeding in general and I love going down the street really fast feeling the ground (I'm weird) and these tires feel awesome. I've tried Hollyrollers, Moto's and Schwable Tabletop's. The Holly rollers feel really sluggish and fat. The moto diggers, I ended up cutting the knobs to slick and they actually felt good but still a bit fat (I used them with a 42mm rim), was surprised with the puncture resistance on them. Table top's kevlar (used on a 30mm rim) where awesome! Good grip, good rolling resistance all-around and really light but quite expensive, but I guess the sport one's are cheaper. Also check out tioga FS-100 they are a bit fatter that the Powerblocks, a friend borrowed me for two weeks while I was waiting for the powerblocks. They feels pretty much the same as the powerblock, just a bit fatter. -
I still don't understand why all this rant towards marino's building time. It's still faster than some small custom frame companies for example Triton, they are taking 6 months for order completion now. If you have a company with 3 or 4 people and they are well placed in the market it's totally understandable that suddenly they will take more time if there's more demand. Marino is getting better by the years. It's true he could get more updated instead of cutting communication for months. I dunno if people actually asked how long will it take to finish a order but if you just track marinos facebook and you'll see he got tons of work. There's no such thing as making it right, you can always make it better from someone perspective even the one's that "make it right" make shit, try to keep their rep up, get better and move on. Edit: Btw, Bike looks awesome!

Frame looks good! Fork bend not so good. Overall awesome job!
-
Lower BB suits him way better. Maybe not so big, but way more pleasant to watch.
-
Sell the one that gets you more money if both of them ride good. You probably find a better market for the HEX than the Marino.

Awesome video! Saw all of it. Very relaxing, good riding, good locations, nice b-roll, what could you ask more? Perfect! Some of those location made me jelous. Congratulations to your girl friend, she did awesome job capturing all those moments.

Maybe a bit offtopic but It's such a good video. Chilled and fun to watch. Really good vibe! http://vimeo.com/61177695#

MARINO"THE CUY!" 2013 FULL BUILD PICS ADDED!
Chaotic3vil replied to FamilyBiker's topic in Bike Pictures
Frame, looks good although I'm not a fan of short seat tubes, but since this is a more trials oriented rig (50+ BB) I guess is alright. It's pretty obvious that the dropouts are from catalog which I think its awesome to have the possibility to choose dropout design without adding cost and I think if Peter asked for something more custom he wouldn't refuse. I guess there's things more important to the general quality of a custom frame than catalog dropouts, for example metal grade, heat-treatment and welding. -
Yeah I can see them being easier doing regular whips, unfortunately I learn them oppo which is hard to kick it around hitting the downtube instead of the chainstays. Still have to get my mind around them or just starting doing them regular. CS - Chain Stay length and WB - Wheel Base length Trials bike tend to have more leverage which translate into big CS and WB measures compared to BMX. Generally it will give you more room/leverage to get the power down and to roll on to bigger obstacles but it will turn fast movements slower if that makes sense. Older geo street trials bike like yours and the inspired fourplay Mk1 are in the middle, tending more to the trials side. New inspireds are tending more to the street side geo wise.

Sweet whips. They are a b**** on 24" street trials bike. After landing them fakie and static I was trying get rolling one's and it's so weird to transfer the weight around. Like you said it's a matter of mindset really. The trials way of doing stuff is quite different from BMX. Trials is long range kind of motion and bmx is short (pop) which ends up in awesome hang time to squeeze in stuff. To get that with 385mm CS and 1030 WB bike is so demotivating. Props man! Good luck with the trials part of riding.

These two look so sweet!

Sweet video Ben. That Hang ten was awesome! -
Carles Diaz on a 24"? Noooo..Why? He looks so much better on a 20". Pongo stick 1 - style 0.

Looks good! That 74º seat tube angle makes it look so short! It is short with 980mm WB but the rear triangle being big for 360mm CS makes the front shorter.
