Isis cranks/bb's are the new way forward in trials, almost everybody is using isis now days, i don't know where you have herd it wrecks the splines after taking them off a few times because it doesnt, You can not round isis cranks off like taperd one's and you do not have to tighten your cranks up as often. As for strength wise, i think isis is alot stronger now days, i have had alot of trouble with taperd cranks and bb's, but i have never had a problem with isis cranks/bb's. Isis will be your way forward for trials riding. Dan.

Hey mate, i know just the bottombracket for you but it all depends on your price range. The bottombracket you should take a look at is the SKF BFR - 600 That link there takes you straight to tartybikes with the bottombracket i am talking about, if you are unsure give Dave and Adam a phone call (landline phone number is at the top of the page) and they will be more than happy to answer any of your questions and to point you in the right direction. But i have heard good things about that bottom bracket and i would highly recommend it, but it depends if you have the money for it. Dan.

It depends how you have progressed on your 26". How good is your ability on your 26" ? If you think you are at a too high of level to go for a beginer bike such as the t-pro then vote against and go for something abit higher, for example: monty, koxx, adamant, zoo, echo, GU, czar, etc. Just think about it yourself, at the end of the day we cannot tell you what to get we can only guide you and it is up to you to make your own decisions inlife. In a way its sort of like us telling you how to have your hair cut, think about it. Dan.

Mod Or Stock What Should I Go For
Danny Kearns replied to trials wannabe's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
Pardon ? did not understand a word of that. Dude, like everybody is saying, its all down to personal prefference, i went from mod to stock to mod, my views are that i liked 26" and i got really good on my 26", but i got to a certain stage by where i was'nt progressing anymore, So in the end i started having ago on a couple of mates mod bikes and started to feel abit more comfy and confident and learnt how to sidehop. So that christmas i went and built up a 20" zona zip, i have progressed so much on that bike it is unbeliveable, sidehopping has gone right up along with tapping, gapping, front to backs etc. I would like the chance to go back to a big bike and give that a bash, but the main thing i found was that they always felt to heavy and stiff, and no bounce, so i would have to go for a light stock if i were to choose one, for example a adamant a1. The way to choose really is mate, watch a few video's of how different people ride each size of bike and see which you would like to progress on in the near futre, if you like the look of how people ride stock bikes go for that but then again if you like the look of how people ride mod bikes go for one of them. Also try a couple of different bikes both mod and stock to see which you prefer in the long run and see which you feel comftable on, Dont go rushing into the situation because you think you are eager to ride, sit down and think the situation through throuhly, Work out your price range and if you want a high spec bike or not, You just have to think of all the different things. I wish somebody had give me this sort of advice when i was picking my first bike, but i did'nt and in the long run has'nt really done me anygood, it has cost me a fortune and have always being buying really low standard parts and that is why i am able to give you this sort of advice from past expirience and from what i have learnt in my expirience in trials. It is a great sport and loveable and you get a massive addiction for the sport like i think most people do, Don't let the price of parts and bike put you off the sport, you will cope and get through it somehow, everybody does. So yeah good luck on choosing your first bike and i hope you progress well in the future and give trials a good name. All the best and sorry for the essay even though it may help you. Dan. -
That is going to be debatable, people are going to argue agaist disc's having the stopping power when you are on backwheel, alot of people prefer a disc brake on the rear over a magura hs33, me personally i hate a disc brake on the rear, reason being i sidehop to my lefthand side and would be buying a new rotor every three days due to the fact of landing on them. Other people vote against, some people think that magura hs33's don't have toe stopping power, and in a way they are correct, seeing a magura hs33's are not trials specific break's to be fair they are cross country brakes. I have noticed quite alot of people goign to double disc just lately, i personally vote against all together, i don't agree with a disc brake on the front either, reason being again i sidehop to my left hand side, a set of zoo! pads or a set of echo pinks on a front magura does the job and has plenty of stopping power for my use, but if you were to select a disc break for upfront, i highly recommend the avid bb7 with a xtr lever, tremendous braking power of everybodys bb7 who have seen running one, they just seem to stop you dead. Well thats just my views, people may disagree but hey its a discussion forum. All the best. Dan.

Excellent bike buddy, awsome bike to ride, I hated the colour and stickers so stripped my down to bare metal and sprayed it matt black and i love mine, also i hate bashplates so i ground the mount off on the downtube and now just run a bashguard on the crank. I would say the main downfall is it does'nt have the capability to run snail cams so thats a bad point to the frame, but apart from that, perfect geometry for me. 365mm chainstays 1045 wheelbase 55mm bottombracket rise Not sure on the headtube angle. Yes go for the frame mate and if you wish to run snail cams, jut measure everything up and drill your frame and then tap it and whack somebolts in like im doing. Dan.
