  1. he's quite good really isn't he? :o the KOT frame looks lush. watching with interest for figures etc! :)
  2. Bouncing Souls: maniacal laughter Argy Bargy: songs from the street Cock Sparrer: Shock Troops
  3. i believe it's "emotional rock music" or something. these days its basically an umbrella term for a lot of different types of music from dashboard confessional to thursday etc. i've got a mate who's into it (fag) and he reckons emo is more acousticy and girly and the rest is melodic hard core or some shit. i like a lot of his music, so i shouldn't criticise it, but the scene is kind of annoying! happy birthday to dan btw. (is this the guy that always says biketrials/echo/planet x/etc. rules?) have a good day yadayadayada.
  4. you don't have to be irish to go out and have a laugh (notice no "on st. patrick's day") why is it such a big deal for you to celebrate it? i don't see why you have to celebrste st. patricks day when you "can go out and have a laugh" on any day. like tomm said, its all about the alcohol. which is available on any day. so why all the fuss about getting drunk 'because its st. patrick's day'?! (Y) if you couldn't care less, why all the fuss?
  5. i won't be celbrating st. patrick's day as such. i will be celebrating ON st. Patrick's day though, my gf will have just handed in her dissertation, and i've just handed 2assignments, so we're going straight to the pub after lectures. I will be drinking guinness, but that's a) because i like it and (Y) because it's cheap today. i wonder how many of the english people on here go out to celebrate st. george's day? it seems hypocritical of people to get so excited about an irish holiday which has very little/nothing to do with them, whereas next to noone gets nearly as excited about their OWN patron st's day...when i'm in the pub, i won't be talking drunkenly about the 'craic' or any other irish related stuff...why celebrate irishness when i'm english and don't celebrate englishness? (i think) its because as little as 1 or 2 generations ago, hundreds of irish people emigrated to america looking for work. they were massively discriminated against and therefore stuck together and their irish 'ness' became their solidarity...a lot opf americans are actually descended from these irish immigrants, and do have irish roots. but they're still american. i guess its because irish people are often seen as 'fun' etc. that they cling to whatmeagre irish heritage they have. i'm sure half of them are lying about it anyway....also, i'm quite possibly wrong. but that's my estimation of it.
  6. sound: 1)chalk on a black board 2)sometimes when i chew my jumper sleeve it squeaks between my teeth so that only i can hear it and that makes my spine shiver! 3)any bike related noise that either i can't place, or isn't supposed to be there 4)my alarm clock 5)football chants (I F*cking hate football!) smell: 1)shit 2)vomit 3)rotten anything, especially meat 4)morning/bad breath or BO 5)dog/cat food texture: 1)little bits of rubber in one mass (ie in a pot, and you touch the top layer- i know what i mean!) 2)carrots that have been left too long and gone slimy in places, in fact, any kind of slimyness! 3)the jelly in pork pies 4)sticky stuff on my heands (like when a creme egg's leaked and you get the inside bit on your hands 5)my teeth in the morning after a heavy night out.
  7. (in no order) sounds: 1) the sound when you pour the first glass from a bottle of red wine (i realise white wine makes the same oise, but i don't really like white wine.) 2)the sound of an opening can (ie. beer/fizzy drink can) 3)sizzling food 4)the windy/bird singingy/not very noisy noises you only get in summer 5)the voices of people i know and love ( (Y) i know, but i was struggling!) smells: 1)matches 2)my girlfriend's skin in the morning :"> 3)rolling tobacco-not being smoked,i don't smoke and the smell of tobacco smoke is one of my least favourite, but when rolling tobacco is in its puch, its one of the best smells ever! 4)clean/new clothes 5)cut grass/petrol can have a fight and see who wins for the number 5 spot textures: 1)fur (preferably cat, or mouse/similar rodent) 2)old wooden tables 3)really cold glass with condensation on it 4)my hair (really short and makes my fingertips go numb if i stroke it long enough) 5)nice white bread (a proper loaf) both the crust and the actual bready bit.
  8. its a toss up between The Dropkick Murphys and The Bouncing Souls (which makes it even better that i saw them on a coheadliner 2weeks ago!) favourite songs would have to be: Murphys- 'Finnegan's Wake', 'Curse Of A Fallen Soul', 'Walk Away' or 'Which Side Are You On?' Souls- 'True Believers', 'The Kid, 'Argyle' some of my favourite songs ever are: 'alternative ulster' by Stiff Little Fingers 'I wanna Riot' by Rancid 'If The Kids Are United' by Sham 69 (later covered by Rancid)
  9. last weekend i went to see the bees in leeds for my girlfriends birthday (goddam hippy!) who i was well impressed by! on sunday i went to nottingham and saw the dropkick murphys supported by the bouncing souls and the godawfuls the dropkicks were the best band i've seen...seen them quite a few times now, and they always get me goin! those bands are all amazing! might ave to try and get tickets for that! have you seen the dead pets before boon? they're one of my favourite UK bands - punk as f*ck!

  12. what i did was take it with me from the start. Most Uni Halls Of Residence will have a secure bike shed with locked doors, and you can also lock your bike up inside there. You most probably won't use your bike for the first two weeks or so anyway as there's so much new stuff and people around to distract you! After a while i moved my bike up to my room, and just moved it when the cleaner came round (They normally give you a set day/time when they'll be coming). she knew i had it in there, but as i never damaged anything with it or left any mess, and was nice to her, there was no problem. just be subtle about it and you'll be fine. after the 1st year you'll most probably have your own house anyway, so its not a problem after that! Good Luck at uni :P
  13. when you take your girlfriend for "romantic walks in the peak district" purely to look for more rocks to ride....every month... she loves the walks, but my ridin buddies keep threatening to tell her the truth...
  14. glad i'm not the only one (Y)" when u go on trials forum even though you went on ten mins ago and KNOW there'll be nothing new to read
  15. Ashford. If its before th 19th i'll problz meet up there for a ride (i go back to uni after that) and Urban Legend and Giant Whore (not sure about the spaces in their usernames) would almost def be up for it too)
