  1. I agree fully with the tinkering, but in my opinion, turboing a car that wasn't factory turbo'd isn't tinkering. I've tinkered with my Clio, full suspension and a cage with buckets and it's just as much fun as I can imagine, not convinced I want any more power. Saying all this, doesn't mean I don't think you should do it. I think boosted Clios are epic, I just don't think it's for me. I'm just not convinced an e46 M3 is a good investment when I don't have a house...
  2. Gonna have a second car or just going to have it off the road here and there? Good luck dude! A lot of the boosted Clios on CS.net are reliable once they've been built and all the kinks worked out. Clioturbo.co.uk has a great reputation for conversions. Pft, not a Clio if you get rid of the bucket of gravel that is the JC5. You could spend 3.5k on on bodies and cams, and get 200-210bhp, or you can spend 4k and get 300bhp. Most people don't because the F4R in the Clio doesn't easily rev over 8000 rpm without serious cash. This would be a great way to go, if you're set on a boost conversion. There's so much out there for the 20vt compared to the F4Rs. There's loads of things which improve the Clios, but I don't think more power is one of them. I've toyed with the idea a lot, but personally I'd rather buy a more powerful car.
  3. Ages aware, but so long as the Clio lives I'll try and be there.
  4. Can't believe you don't like Aerocatched bumpers but like them.
  5. Official Clio rankings are as follows; Cup 172 > Trophy > Ph1 172 > Haz's Ph2 172 > 172/182 > Dan's 182 Simple.
  6. That's seriously cool!
  7. One of the guys on the Clio forum posted this;
  8. I saw the refund before I saw this thread. I am sad. Will do my best to be on the next day however.
  9. True - but while I love it, I don't know how much difference it will make around Curby? Not enough to mask my poor driving I'm sure.
  10. Yeah, love a bit of K-Tec tax. My cage was £212 delivered, albeit unpainted... Will be keen to see what the Curby times are like. Dan's car will probably be lighter than mine now, but I've also added the coilies (which he had before) and geo set up along with the NS2Rs.
  11. Loads of different types of harness bars available, for example... A way more awesome way to do it would be... Link to the post on CS
  12. Nah, being fixed now, can't be arsed with the hassle. And I don't think I could sell them after I've nitromors the shit out of them I spoke to the guy I bought them from and he showed me enough proof that he had been using them til recently, guess he didn't realise either!
  13. Good news - my cage is going in tomorrow. Bad news - Three of my four second hand OZ Superturismo wheels are buckled, so what was going to be a cheap set of track wheels is now a £600 set of track wheels, after they've been straightened and refurbed. Could have bought OZ Ultraleggras new for a tiny bit more.
  14. Yeah, you can use the normal belt holes in the bottom of the buckets. One side of mine does sit above the side, but it's still tight round my lap.
  15. Works fine for me. Don't think I'll be getting harnesses any time soon.
  16. My Clio was 1060kg with half a tank and no driver. So I'd suggest that was with some fuel and Dann, as his car has 40kg of seats that mine does not.

  18. One of the guys from the Clio forum was interested. Happy to message him?
  19. I like my 44s on the road. And Curby didn't seem to give them any worries, although I'm not last of the late brakers. I realise on a lap they are still not up to scratch though.
  20. Cliosport also bums them pretty hard. I'm surprised to see them get slated.
  21. It is the boltiest of sketchy bolt in cages. It does however have big feet and nice big spreader plates to go with.
  22. Bit of a b*****d. You can't get them to relocate the stock for you so your drive is shorter? In the clio world... Next few weeks will be painting the cage and the wheels for the tyres. Fun.
  23. I can squat/deadlift again A point I proved by repping out 140kg deadlift for ten. New program with a deload on all squats and deads should see me ripping the 1000lbs before Christmas.
