You don't know it is ex display, you might aswell ask, it's such a minor thing when it's really a cut above the others. But definately the Hewlett Packard, my dad works for them so.

I'd go for the third one, the spec is a bit better overall and you can always find power leads and stuff on Ebay. However, you may find it was ex-display, but they won't tell you that, so you'll probably have to wangle it a bit, still £600 off makes it a bargain.

A film SLR will be far better, and a much smaller investment than a dSLR. As for photoshop, I found it a bit wierd when I did my As Photography, I'm fairly confident with it, however I barely used it for my projects, because I far more enjoyed using film, thus I rarely scanned in images. Photoshop really isn't the be all and end all of the As, it really is just a small part.

The MacBook only has an inbuilt graphics processor and it will struggle with more intense CAD applications, such as 3DsMax. If it has to be portable, the MacBook Pro will handle the 3D stuff, however the MacBook will be pretty slow.
