  1. I have 1144s on the Clio and they are good, noticeably better than OEM, but at first they howled like a bitch under light braking. Cost/performance though is spot on for road car and wear seems reasonable for the 4000 miles I've done on them. Will continue to use them as and when replacement is required. Edit: breaking... braking... amateur.
  2. Y'all bitches need Fuelly... Or not, IDGAF.
  3. f**k you MOT, see you in 12 months.
  4. I'm annoyed. Car is leaking oil from the underside. One mechanic who MOT'd it today says it's the sump. The mechanic who supposedly fixed the sump in March, who had a look at it last week, says it's the crank seal. If it's the former, it's under warranty, but mechanic who fixed it in march refutes this and is now trying to sting me for a crank seal, which is basically a engine/box out job and best part of £400. I have parts which I want to fit but wont until this is done. Also I've seen some seats that I want, and would buy, if I didn't have this expense looming. French car is French.
  5. Big as chunks of wood = no trouble getting up ramps with lows...
  6. So I've done some more to the Clio. New 'cup' wishbones including bushes and ball joints, track rods, track rod ends, steering rack bushes, bump stops/damper gaiters (mine were mostly in two pieces as seen above) CV boot kit and rear reg plate light. An ABS reluctor ring from eBay and not shown some Powerflex ARB bushes. Solid top mounts and Strut Brace Also painted my calipers because they really were grotty. My car is dirty as fuark.
  7. How shit can a heat gun be? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HOT-AIR-HEAT-GUN-1500W-WATT-WALL-PAINT-STRIPPER-TOOL-4-NOZZELS-/160814688474?pt=UK_Home_Power_Tools&hash=item25714d68da

    The Happy Thread

New Deltron 3030 album is coming out next month.
  9. Am I a bad person because I like the Multipla?
  10. 7100 is standard, IIRC.
  11. I think probably you're right. However, a 172 which ran before me made 172.9 and a 197 later on ran 197.6, so even if it's over reading, it's ahead of the curve, which makes me happy. It'll also be mapped on the same Dyno, so the gains should be transparent, even if the read is high/off. Also forgot to add - a two month old Fiesta ST made 200.3hp!
  12. So turns out my engine is a freak... Standard 172s normally make 165hp or so. Looking forward to what the RS2 will do, hopefully bring the torque over 150 for the whole curve.
  13. Anyone well versed in cleaning up carbon fibre?
  14. Second hand so it's a plonk it on top job. It'll be the sock in front of the battery affair. I'm going to SRR for a 'before' run on Saturday, then I'll be fitting it myself some time in the next month, along with the decat, then handing back to James & MWM for a proper map and new rolling road readout from SRR. I feel stupid for spending so much money on a Clio but it's too much fun and I couldn't bare the fuel, tyre, service costs of something like an Evo, etc.
  15. I don't know if this will mean anything to people on here except Jardo and maybe Tarty... But I accidentally an RS2 for my Clio. Also, is anyone going to SRR on Saturday? I'll be going down for a couple of 'before' runs.
  16. And a very kind fellow just dropped this off... Mwahahaha...
  17. I haven't been sent the vids just yet, rest assured they will be up as soon as I have them. Although they won;t be anything special, just a cone massacre.
  18. Yesterday, I was mostly being a hooligan in a carpark.
  19. I drive 17 miles a day each way, and average between 20mpg and 40mpg. Traffic's not even a factor, just my mood.
  20. Hypothetical... I want build an engine for my Clio (F4R), nothing extreme but I want to buy a used engine, have it on a stand in the garage, take it to bits, clean it, paint it, etc. Then when it's done drop it in my car. I can buy a second hand engine and gearbox for a pittance (there are enough about with reasonable mileage and good service history) and an engine stand from ebay. I have a friend of a friend with a machine shop who can do can hone cylinders, skim the head. I can do all the belts, clutch etc while it's out. I also have access to 99% of the tools required. There's no real point to this except that it's something to do at the weekends. What do? TL;DR - How to build engine?
  21. Halfords Advanced Ratchet Spanners - Abnormally high quality at a very reasonable price, lifetime guarantee! They also put 16mm and 18mm in most of the kits, which is very handy when working on french car.
  22. That's a bargain, unfortunately, I've just paid for my holiday or I'd be all over it. If he has it at the end of the month I will take it, 100%. Edit: I'm actually going to see James @ Stone to get the above bits done.
  23. Car is booked in to have my braided hoses fitted and bled, new front caliper to be fit and camber bolts to go in the front along with a alignment. In other news, why do throttle bodies sound so epic and why are they so expensive for Clios...
