I'm actually with you. I wouldn't own one, personally, except maybe an M3. The car in question is the 330Ci Clubsport like JD's and honestly on the motorway it's not a bad place to be with the I6 upfront. He can't keep up with the Clio though, ~500kg heavier and only 50hp to show for it.

I'm fully aware it's a boat, but my point is really that it's not a land cruiser.

The sensor sees the larger gap as a locked wheel, so it pumps the ABS.

You probably have a cracked ABS reluctor ring. Tenner for the part, then it's hub off, break off the cracked one, clean off the rust and you can either beat the new one on or put it in the oven for a bit as hot as it will go, then it just slips right on and cools back down to fit. They do torque steer a little, very plain diff and unequal length drive shafts. Not normally that noticeable though, so if it's bad take it to a specialist
