Mine is white ......and nice too.
-
definitively try-all. Very good grip and the shape is the better for low pressure riding.
-
It's a quite simple. Try to use bb7 with your shimano deore V-Brake lever ....and if it doesn't work...buy avid fr5, sd 7 or xtr lever for example. But it'll probably works fine because avid bb7 is a greatest brake...maybe THE best.
-
If it always broke at the same place i'l think a way to reinforce it.....but i think it's not easy. Anyway it's a very great brake and i hope mine will last!
-
BB7's calipers always crack here?
-
Just tie ('i don't know if it's the appropriate word) the crossover to your brake booster...and it'll never crack
-
Yes i use magura hs33 for several years......and i never snap any crossovers! so if bb7 caliper crack less than crossovers, it will be fantastic. But reading the previous posts, especially alic's post, i doubt of it. anyway, i'll use it in normal condition and i'll see if it will break.
-
reading all your answers, that is what i can understand: my bb7 will crack, but it can be in 2 month as in two years... so i'll try to go easy on.

I read the otn link before to post this topic. cool! i'm a bit reassured. It's good to see there are also satisfied users.

I just bought a bb7 brake. It's a very amazing brake. The greatest i never had. But doing search on the forum, i read that bb7 caliper often snap...so now i'm a bit worried. Is there really a problem of weakness on bb7 caliper? How many time can i hope to use my bb7? where the caliper break? what part? anyone have pictures of broken bb7.

I haven't seen i was a member yet. Cool! So i'll try to get a second hand bb7. And i'll try mjcycles. i'm also going to look at wiggle. Thanks.

I can't find a shop selling bb7+avid lever overseas. And here in france it's impossible to find it... where can I find bb7 185 or 203 mm and avid lever on the same website at an affordable price ? (close to 80£). thanks.

There are any users of the new monty freewheel? Is it as reliable and performant as the eno one?

Hope Mono Trial 160mm Or Formula Oro K24 180mm
laurent replied to laurent's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
First thanks guys for all these answers. But I DON'T WANT TO BUY AN AVID BB7. Because i heve to buy a lever for it...and it will be as expensive as the deals described at the top. I just want to know if Hope mono trial 160 mm can be as poweful as the formula oro 180mm? Thanks again. -
Hope Mono Trial 160mm Or Formula Oro K24 180mm
laurent replied to laurent's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
Um....hard choice. I seriously thinking about taking the oro k24. I just fear oro k24 will not be enough powerful..... -
For my mod bike. I succeed in finding these two front brakes at a low price: -The hope mono trial 160mm next 180€. -The Formula oro k24 180mm next 145€. Which one is the best front brake for mod? I'm searching a brake which can lock the wheel on front wheel moves et with a decent modulation. Please don't tell me "hope 180mm" i haven't money for it. Thanks alot!
-
But i found a deal at a very low price. (Less than avid bb7 caliper+hose+cable+lever)....so I just search a good front brake (mine ( a xt/xtr) is powerless/fickle...especially for back wheel to front wheel moves). I heard that it was a powerful brake for xc. But i don't know for trial use.
-
if you're talking about stan shaw. I think he uses a hope trial now.... Maybe because he wasn't satisfied with it....
-
nobody uses it?
-
I see tartybikes deal formula oro k18. I'm interested in the k18 180mm for my mod. is this brake powerful? (compared with a magura louise, louise fr, hope...) Someone uses it? thanks
-
Thanks.... Moreover pictures aren't as nice as the real bike. I hope my paint job will last.... :wink2:
