fcuk the frame just dish the wheel to suit, does it matter if its bent? no most frames are out of tolerance anyway and are not made to good standards ash
-

-
hope are not having problems with getting the bearings to fit, its getting hold of the bearings, i know this because i have been testing the pro 2 for hope, the mechanisms inside, eg ratchet and pawl design is completed. oh and pete have you been smoking too much crack? ash

i do i have 5 used pro 2's at home as i have been testing them for over a year! i believe the design is now finalised and should be ready to go to the shops, i dont think terrain will actually have them yet though... maybe they are just advertising them like chain reaction have been doing ash

I know a lot of people will disagree but i think the panaracer fire xc is a great tyre! having used one on the front in the kevlar version for a year i can honsetly say they are great, the weight is very low 420 grams (or round about) the tread clears mud well, the wear rate is minimal, mines only worn about 1/4 of tread. the grip is great in dry conditions the only downsides i can comment on, is that when wet they are as slippy as a wet kipper, also the pinch protection is not great! if i was to rate the tyre out of 10 i would rate it 7 there may be better tyres out there but this is my oppinion, eveyreyone likes different things the only other tyre i would perhaps consider on the front is a continental due to the weight being low, i personally think the weight of the maxxis tyres are too heavy for the front ash :P

yer that seems quite odd to me........ that must be a typo surely? i don't think they would hold a comp down south? surely not many people would turn up? ash

the latest pro 2 design which is on my bike at the moment does not have a replaceable pawl carrier, it is just a one piece cassette body, the older prototypes used the replaceable design though................... soemone mentioned earlier........ quote: - 48 eps pff... keep trying lads.................... hope made a 72 ep pro 2, this did work but is now sat in my garage........ they changed the design completey due to flex, the latest design which is on my bike, i am told is going to be the final one is very very similar to a profile hub, it is very strong with no skipping as of yet. this hub linked up with a hope single speed kit is excellent and will be well worth the wait.......... in the hope newsletter it mentioned about them awaiting sparesfor the hubs and that expected delivery will be mid october............ any questions about this hub just pm me for details........ regards ash :)
-
the trials hub is NOT going to have 5 bearings! i don't know where you heard that, ive tested 5 of these hubs and they have all had 4, :) the one i am currently testing is the strongest yet, 48 eps with 4 pawls 2 of which are offset, thus giving you the 48eps, it now carries the leaf spring design like the profile, no skipping in mine as yet, and the other guys testing are all having positive outcomes from this model, the drive shell i have been using on mine is made of alu, i have not had one problem with this, alothough the pro 2 t trials model i believe is going to have a steel ratchet body........ any questions about this hub just ask :) regards ash :P

from the guys at hope i always got recommended to use grease? i know it sounds daft but it sure does work (Y) ash
-
i think you will find the ratchet rings are on a screw thread, did you just have a pressed fit if you tapped it in with a hammer? please explain! ash
-
the 26 ghz has an aluminium replaceable dropout which mounts onto the fixed non replaceable on the frame  ash
-
hope now do mineral oil seal kits! that could be an idea, they designed these so that people could use the new shimano levers with brake and gear in one with a hope disc calliper rather than the shimano (Y) ash

Is It Worth Spending More Money For An Xtp
Ashley Smith replied to pogonation's topic in Trials Chat
the xtps 20's are like a load of tin cans glued together, there a complete load of bollocks, my mate had nowt but trouble with all 4 of his, so he got a python instead, wise decision and cheaper.......... regards ash :) -
(Y) cheap as chips from tarty bikes ;) just replace it! ash

sqaure taper anyday for me, ive used isis, and to be quite honset i couldnt tell the difference in feel, although if sqaure taper is 'looked after' correctly you should haveno problems................... probably one of the better designs is the new hollowtech 2 designs from shimano, the only downside to this being the bb cups on the outside of the shell, i wouldnt like to sidehop onto one................ square taper ash
