Woop, agreed currently running an SD7 lever, linear slick cable, Dewhore arms with Joy pads, tis a LOVERLY brake. Also, if you do go for a rear vee don't get one with any parrellel push stuff, stick to simple arms, it will make the brake loads better....... Adam
-
Grrr Joe, need better pics!!!! I love this bike, tis awsome fun Adam
-
HAHAHAHAHAHA you wish.... I am a tad under 6ft4 just a tad, but then again i am probably ALOT heavier than most of the people on this forum (tad under 20st )
-
Yup, you be right Master Harper, i had a 32h Classic but when i changed to a rear disc i got a 36h CK discotech (removable disc mount jobby ) Just fitted my new pads from Ali C, not tried them out yet, but i have had to swap my vee adapters to the different side and file them so they work, and now the spacing is to wide for the bloody booster ah well. --> QUOTE(joe b @ Nov 12 2006, 09:11 PM) ←Really nice. I love the shape of those frames; they remind me of BT's. And, the colour scheme is awesome; normally silver parts look boring on a bike. But, with that blue frame they look awesome ! Cheers, Joe. Ooooooo, i hope u don't mean the rims there Joe......... They be white Glad u guys like it, hopefully it should have an avid ultimate on it soon. Adam

You might be fine alex, it is surprising how easy it is to miss the mech hanger, otherwise like the other guys have said, either get yourself a steel one from Iolo or a hanger banger. Another option is to just keep a spare in your wallet or sumet, that is what i do (although my spare is now bolted to the frame) but i tend not to hit them that often any hoo. Adam PS: How come you are getting a stock, what happened to the Zoot idea?
-
There is no official importesrs for Deng stuff now, all the shops which deal in his stuff get it directly from him (as far as i am aware) So like Mark said tarty gets their stuff straight from him...... Probs a good idea to get the lbs to ring Tartybikes and see what they say Adam

I have to say that i do love mine, the rear disc mount is loverly and heavy which is good if you want to run a rear disc, i did but had to sell due to financial problems, 4 bolt mounts are fairly stiff due to the welded on plate/booster. The only thing i could say is that with a 2.5 maxxis it would be better have a tad more clearance, it runs without rubbing but with a small buckle i can see that it would rub But other than that i would highly recomend one Adam

Looks, um...... Interesting Rowan, i hope it holds for you Adam

Woooop, not long now, i shall be in for hopefully around 10:30 as me and rob have to leave at a decent time..... Unfortuantly there is nowhere free to park on a saturday, just don't park in the inner zone as it will cost a BOMB something like £4.20 for 2 hrs, if u find the small sainsburys and turn don the litle roads opposite it is cheaper, around £240 for 4 hrs thats where i will be......... Adam

160mm front and 160mm rear calipers are COMPLETELY different, a rear 160mm caliper is the same as a front 180mm caliper!!!!!! trust me, i had a rear 200mm disc, and for it to work i needed a FRONT 180mm caliper which if used on a normal iso rear mount would be a 160mm!!! Adam PS: i can't be arsed to arguye any more, i know what i am on about and i know i am correct!
-
No, pete it doesn't, i bet you if u put a 160mm front caliper on a standard rear mount you will only fit a 140mm rotor!!! Hence y to fit a 200mm rotor on the rear with a front 160mm caliper you WOULD need a +60 frame I can prove this easily, my simtra has a +40mm disk mount, to fit a 200mm rotor i needed a front 180mm caliper, not a 160mm! Adam
-
+40mm would not work like that though pete, +40 on the rear means a 160mm front caliper would work with a 180mm rotor (remember rear mounts is 20mm smaller than front) From what i recal the frames were +50 (i think) so that a front 160mm caliper could be run on the rear with a 190mm rotor (koxx like that size fo some reason) And like has already been said, there were not many made, that perticlular one was owned by a rider who i know of as Andreas (i think) Kolpen i know the sirname is right, not sure about he first name,........ Hope that clears it up Adam
-
I am also big and fat (probs biggerer and fatter than you ) and i have used a 180mm and 200mm hopes and 185 and 203mm avids and every time i have gone back to an avid, they are just SOOOOO much better than th hopes, easier to setup, MUCH more adjustable and when used with a decent cable and lever feels much nicer than a hope! If it is going on a mod i would say hat a fron 160mm avid would surfice and if stock go for a 203mm Hope that helps Adam
-
Hmm, tis a tad to clean i guess, thats the trouble with not having any good natural anywhere near uni!!!!!! Another reason for the vee is that i broke my maggy caliper and realy can not be aresd to fit a new caliper an re-bleed it, also the noise of the mag was getting on my nerves!!!! Adam
-
Yes, i do, but i can not afford the £70 they are when new otherwise i would!!! Need better vee adpaters too, these ones put the pivot to close to the rim meaning the arms point out WAY to far........ Adam PS: for the eagle eyed of you, try and find the mech hanger...........

Some recent pics of my Simtra ST1, unfortunatly the rear disc has gone, but i am hoping to put my rear BB7 on there as soon as it is fully bedded in on the DMR, so for now i am completely hydro free [attachmentid=8038] [attachmentid=8037] [attachmentid=8036] [attachmentid=8035] [attachmentid=8034] [attachmentid=8033] [attachmentid=8039] Adam
