  1. Trust me, put those on your XTR vee and they will be awsome! i mean whats £19 when u were considering changin to a magura? But like Paul has said, try and get hold of some SD7 or dewhore arms, they will be much better than your XTRs, due to not having all the linkages. I run a set of avid ultimate on the rear and the they realy are incredible! Adam
  2. Hey guys, this july i am moving down to coventry to start my placement job at terex construction, i am going to have to rent a house down there, the factory where i am working is literaly just of the M6. My question is does ay of you guys know where the dodgy areas of coventry are, as i don't want to rent a house where the first day i wake up i find the wheels gone off my car Thanks Adam
  3. Its got to be the pound for me! even if England went to the euro, Cornwall would keep the pound Adam
  4. I am not sure what you are talking about here, the price Adam quoted as the RRp for the new brake was £140 (which i gues was for the 180mm version) which is ecatly the same price as the 180mm std hope brake, so how is it more expensive????? Adam
  5. Come on, "even a chipolata would work with tar" (Tart, ages ago ) You can not say how good brake is then say you use tar, it means fook all, sorry, but it is true! Adam
  6. I would recomend that instead of getting ultimates and using the standard pads that your get something like a dewhore or SD7 and with the money saved to buy some heatsink pads, this will give you a MUCH better brake than the ultimates with standard pads, then when u feel you are sure you deffinatly want to stay with vees you can search for some 2nd hand ultimates I think you should be ok with clearance, it will be tight, but you should be ok. Adam
  7. Won't be comin got my exam in the afternoon Adam
  8. I might be up for it, make sure u put where on here, i am pretty sure i have an exam in the morning, but have the afternoon off Adam
  9. There tends to be clearance issues with the cable across the top of the arms and the tires from what i have heard of the guys who hasv tried it in th US, a few people have had not troubles, but it has been close. Adam
  10. Not quite sure where you get that from, my rear vee is much more powerfull than any maguras i have ever ran/used!! Adam
  11. You didn't "properly" keep the either of them, not a fan of this hopping back off malarky Adam
  12. Hmm, Will see what my exam time table is like around then. Adam
  13. The Simtra will feel alot longer than the zenith though, mine felt like a barg when comparing to the zenith as the zenith has a higher bb, and thus a shorter reach...... Adam
  14. From looking at the pics of the bike, it looks like the tube could just have been bent in a tube bending tool, would not be to hard there are no large angles or anything involved.... Adam
  15. As felix says, but you will also have to modify the axle, turn it down some how, making sure that the threads for the axle bolts go in far enough.... Adam
  16. If the weather is looking reasonably good i may head up, i will not be riding the comp due to my kne being bad and not sure whether i would be able to ride the whole day without retiring Ah well, may come up with the video camera...... Adam
  17. HAHAHAHAHAHA what a special facial expression!! And again!!! Adam
  18. Hmmm, if i can afford it Mr Singleton and if i am welcome i will try and attend Adam
  19. Like has been said above, you could always get one made, Iolo makes loverly looking boosters and you can get them made for the exact width of your frame only down fall is that they are £40 Adam
  20. But not to much wet xc lube, other wise it can work against you, as i found out before just use a few drops and it will be as if there is no cable at all! Adam
  21. I have to say i am another vee brake guy, i am running avid SD7 levers, linear slick dable (a must have!) ultimate arms and koxx green rubber and the brake is imense, you will find that the brake will not be as bitey as a magura but the hold will be so much better. Also like has already been said it is possible to get a vee to feel soooooo much better than any magura, anybody who has tried my brake has always been surprised at hoe smooth and light my rear brake is, and then how awsome it works. Plus they can be silent and still work awsome! Adam
  22. Unfortunatly i think the only booster that may come close to that spacing is a Salsa carbon (possibly and alu one) which are very hard to find! Personaly i would run the new pads without a booster as they will be alot better than the current jagwire pads, and safer as there is no little metal pin to break. Adam
