I have just gone from 29inch trialtech bars to 28inch Rockmans and i have not felt any difference in my riding, only thing i realy notice is the extra room i have gained due to the shape of the bars, Generaly it is said that wider bars give you a little more stability, i struggle with monty bars that have not been extended, as i do have very wide shoulders, but the rockmans seem a good middle ground between the trialtechs and monty's. Thats Stan.... Just noticed you can see my huge pole in one of the pics Adam

He is now Adam

I recon they forgot to take that stand off the rear wheel silly french people...... Adam

I think it looks ok, the weight can be explained slightly, if you look compared to the spec the rear rim is not the std Holes one, it is a double walled circular holed version (I saw one of these on Adam Reads Yaabaa) which will be heavier than the squared hole rim, also has a rear disc ready hub, although not sure if that was included within the 9.7Kg weight. Some good pics there dude! It was a good ride, any more rock hurling pics? Adam
-
I would say it will be ok, I had my Koxx Coust V2 for over 6 months and saw no signs of weakening at that point, and the coust is more machined at that point that the rockman! Adam

There is a small collection of clips on youtube from the first ride, will hopefuly have a proper vid done after crimbo Youtube.com/bigmantrials Adam

Almost all of the newer echo forks that i have had, al be it over 18months ago all cracked at either the top of the disc mount, or in the case of urbans they were also known to crack where the weld holding the dropout onto the bottom of the fork leg had been ground off to much. Adam
-
I think it is more to do with the fact that the disc mount on the Atomz forks is ALOT better than the one on echo forks, as the mount is extended further up the forks, spreading the forces from the disc over a larger area. Adam

You also have to remember these are not being made by some massive expensive CNC machine that can do hundreds a day, this is little ole Todge sat in his cold shed working with proper tools, i would say the price is very good when you take that into consideration Adam

How can you say it is weak, have you heard of any breaking? and 92kg is not heavy, i am 125kg ish, yes i have only had my frame for a week but no one has realy had a rockman frame for long enough to actualy tell! I was going to stay out of this topic due to my situation but that is one of the stupidest things ever, unless your E-skills at determining frame strength are just sooo much better than everybody elses!!! In my oppinion they are both damn good frames, i have owned and ridden both, and will probably say that i do prefer the Rockman, much as i prefered my Coustellier to the Ozonys as the Rockman/Coustellier ride very similar! Adam

It only feels strange to begin with, as with any handle bar when you change, once you are used to them i am sure you will like them Adam

Not as drunk as i expected myself to be, looks like i may be able to head in tomorow Adam

Rockman, Try-all Rage, Trialtech and Monty are "true" riser bars unlike the deng attempts which may as well just be flat as they provide very little gain in height/cockpit room. Monty and Try-all rage bars are quite narrow, around the 27 - 27.5inch mark which for alot of people is abit too narrow, my monty bars were extended to around 29.5inch and they were very comfortable, i then had a set of trialtech, out of the true riser bars i would say that these have the least actual height gain, but they are very comfortable and are around the 29inch width mark, recently i have moved to Rockman bars as part of my sponsorship, they felt very different to the trialtechs when i first rode them, but after a afew hours i was used to them and getting on with them as well as the trialtechs, they are higher than the trialtechs but not as wide at around 28inchs. They are all very good bars, although i have heard of Rage bars snapping, monty, rockman and try-all are slightly higher than the trialtech ones, but the trialtech are slightly wider, if you can try and have a go on different peoples bikes with the different bars and see which you prefer. It is only needed where the chain hits the frame, mine only tends to hit there, well and on the underside of the seatstay. Adam
-
Glad everybody likes the frame, Hopefully i will have a full riding video out after crimbo Yeh, but i actualy need one on the seat stay too! I am not the first person in the UK to have one, i beleive that Ian Powney from the portsmouth area owns one. Adam

Yeh, i was thinking the same thing, as my apparent speed affence was on Gossmore and i drive through there whenever i go home/drive back to harper but for the past 18months it has always been on the new road, and the speed camera is on the old road but i then noticed the date and that confirmed it is shite Adam

Hey peoples! Just thought i would let people know that i am now riding for Rockman bikes, I took delivery of my loverly ISIS frame yesterday along with a few other goodies. Hopefully i will be able to aid the company in promoting its products within the UK and elsewhere in the world and hopefully helping in development of new products. My new bike: Not sure what else to say realy, Huge thanks to Rockman bikes for the chance to ride under thier brand and hopefully i will do them proud! Adam

Hey guys and gals. Here are some pictures of my new Rockman ISIS frame which i built up, kindly supplied along with the bars and a few other goodies from Rockman bikes them selves as they are my new sponsor! Pics: Spec: Rockman ISIS Frame Koxx Fork TMS 135mm x 25deg stem Rockman riser bar Cane Creek S3 headset Try-all 170mm cranks, 18t trialtech sprocket and atomz bash MOE 68 x 128, M15 BB with alu bolts Front Viz disc hub, custom milled echo 06 rim, try-all Tyre Rear CK classic (turquiose), Atomz light rim with extra drilling, trialtech CF spacers and 16t sprocket Continental rubber queen tyre Home made flexy tensioner Rear Hs33, 4 finger lever blade, modded echo clamps and 2 bolt RB booster Front magura Marta with braided hosing and Shimano XT servo wave lever 190mm magura SL rotor Weight is 9.8KG First impressions: After being for a ride today is that the frame is very stiff, comparable to the coustellier i had previously, i am not using the horizontal dropouts as they are designed to run 18 - 15 and i run 18 - 16 so i need to run a tensioner but i am not to bothered about that as i needed to do that on the coust too. It seems to fly up taps, realy easy, i am having a few problems getting my weight forward but i think that was mainly due to it being the first ride on the new bike, so i am sure that soon enough it will be all good, sidehops very well, nailed one of my largest sidehops to rear today which made me happy. The handle bars felt very strange after coming from trialtech risers but after an hour or so i had got used to them and they feel realy nice, makes the front end a little higher which in tern makes the riding position very comfortable (for my tall self) especialy when just moving around on 2 wheels on rocks etc, Overall i am realy pleased to have got the chance to ride for Rockman and feel that the frame and bar suit my riding very well. Enjoy. Adam

Just realised, i am not going to be able to make saturday as i expect i will be WAY over the limit to drive and i expect still in bed most of the day as it is the christmas ball a harper. Sorry Adam

Yeh, holy buggery he was a bigger than me!!!! I am no longer the biggest trials rider Some fairly epic stuff in there, but it did seem just like amassive long intro, as Ross said... Adam
