Sorry yes it's a disc brake. I'm just looking for the cheapest way to get the hose in place, using the right bolts.
-
Getting old for me means having less time to ride as other 'adult' responsibilities get in the way, work, family, finances .etc., and because of all those other stuff getting in the way not being in the same physical condition. I first start riding when I was 16/17, I'm now 30 and stopped riding for about 8 years, only recently getting back into it just after summer (been on maybe half a dozen rides), the hardest thing about getting back on a bike is not being able to do the level of stuff that used to be easy - i'm not saying I was a great rider but I wasn't 'bad', I could do some decent sized stuff.....but not a chance now with 70% of the stuff, physically and mentally I can't do it.

Cool i'll give it a crack then, will work out cheaper....time to order some hose Thanks
-
I have an echo TR lever and caliper, which I am going to put on my xc bike (saves me buying another new brake entirely), but I need to put some hose on it (& bleed it of course) Will magura hose with 2 of the barbed fittings work (think they are all M6 fitting), or do i need to get the proper kit/bolts for it?

Even if you phone the insurance to cancel the claim, they will still have it on record and it will affect your premiums, someone I know did the same and tried to argue with them that it shouldn't affect premium as no claim was made, their argument was they know an 'accident' has happened so it will affect, whether you proceed with claim or not. All you can do is speak to local council .etc. and hope they find some CCTV Best of luck

Not if you want to ride the rocks near the glen pub, so ner
-
Pretty sure that's in the BOTI somewhere as I have certainly seen it, some skills right there to be admired
-
Nearest place you're going to get a postcode for is the Glen pub at the end of the glen, not the actual glen itself. The glen pub is to the top left of the structures on the link above, think the glen pub postcode is BD17 5BN; the rocks are to the North-West of that point

Couldn't agree more, storyline almost bang on the same but White House Down so much better. Re-watched Django Unchained recently, such a good film, watch if you haven't already!
-
Recent films for me: Red 2 - really enjoyed it, not as good as the first IMO but still good Pacific rim, OK but not fantastic RIPD - strangely I enjoyed this, not amazing but better than I expected White House Down - actually really enjoyed this one just for a bit of action The Worlds End - not bad, good just for something to watch
-
Love the game, hate what it's become. At the 'top' the players are too overrated, it is all about money and it has ruined the game IMO. I follow a team in League 1 and that is much more enjoyable to watch.

Phone shops will do it for a small charge (independant not high street), fairly easy to do if you know how - unless you know someone who will do it for you FOC then probably going to pay someone something
-
8'1", not started riding yet. But seriously absolutely no idea what my biggest gap is, not ridden properly in about 8 years and can probably only do about 4' now
-
Now now people, do we need to knock some heads together! If you are building a wheel properly, yes you should measure the ERD and hub dimensions and get the right length spokes, this will give you the strongest wheel build without the risk of having the spokes too short...which yes will weaken the wheel build if they are too short (nipples got getting enough grab on the spoke .etc.). HOWEVER, you can often use the same spokes, which may be the odd mm out but still work. The real issue comes when you are changing from a rim of 1 size to a rim drastically different in size, or the same with hubs...then experience will not help you make a spoke 4mm longer than it needs to be!

Ashton is the godfather (one of them) of trials - almost everyone who started riding in the late 90's early 2000's probably had some level of inspiration from the Mart's, I know I did! Such saddening news and I really do hope he makes a full recovery, if anyone can, Martyn can. Get well soon Martyn
-
Sometimes you can get away with it, sometimes you can't. Depends on the rim you are currently using, the rim you are changing to and the length of the spokes. If the current spokes only just fit the current rim....but the new rim requires spokes 2 mm longer, using the sames ones may mean they don't fit at all or they do with limited spoke to nipple tightness....probably not good for a trials wheel. I have rebuilt a few wheels, 70% of the time I can re-use the same spokes, the rest of the time I order new ones. Right spokes will be a bit long there buddy

Feels too short - not gonna get rid of the existing bar and stem so when I do change I can change back easily enough if I don't like the other setup

Dug my old Ashton Justice out recently and decided to build it up. Gave it a spray of black, setup currently as follows: Pro 2 rear on ALEX DX32 rim Hope XC front on Mavic rim (Blue as that;s all I could source at the moment, but after a gold one....if anyone has one for swap/sale v cheap let me know Maggie rear BB7 front Currently has flat Hope stem with Azonic DW bars - but swapping that out soon for Onza Carbon bars when I get a longer/higher stem for it) Need new tyres, back is fair worn and front belongs to XC bike. Middleburn cranks. black ISIS ones to come soon Getting a bit of chain skippage with the new KMC chain, guessing it's because i'm using the old rings, so for now will be putting the old silver chain back on

Difference between wide and narrow rims + freehub question
fruitbat replied to clerictgm's topic in Trials Chat
Having used both hope and kings, I would say for reliability stick with a hope. Whilst kings are fantastic hubs, I have found in personal experience the king has more tendency to skip with sudden applications of pressure -
Built from layaround parts onto xc frame and forks, gets me around every now and again. Handsomedog XC frame, Bomber 22LO forks, king front and rear .etc. (ignore the mess on the stem, it was my effort of mounting an old Android phone that had GPS and Maps installed so I could discover some new routes and track my rides) Will be rebuilding this soon and trying to get out on it more often, including swapping wheels out with some retro Hope Ti Glide hubs and V's all round - new bars (flatter)
-
Dug this out of the shed, recently got back on the trials bike (Base TA26 at the moment) and think its time to build this one back up and see how she rides, and how long she lasts.
