  1. Pads:Tensile bubblegum(35mm) Time used: From 17th March until now,(but are now dead )so that makes it 2 months. Rim: Echo 2005 model (silver scoops) Bike: Stock Grind: Extremely light Brake : Standard 2005 model magura hs33, original bleed and plastic hoseing. Review: Well to start with i used them on a grind as not many people had used these pads as they were fresh out, they wore down extremely quickly but locked well. So the wear rate made me sand my ground down until smooth but you were still able to "see" the grind, The lock was awesome, and a little modulation. But in the rain they were terrible , they felt 'squidgy' and took a while to lock on (took further pull on the lever to lock the wheel.) Once i added tar to the break it had tremendous sqeuk and locked great especially when the weather was dry and sunny therefore, I can see these as great summer pads on a smooth rim with tar. Also it would be an improvement if they came in standard power pad backings . Overall the pads were good on a extremely worn grind with tar in dry and sunny weather. Which it never was near me so i didn't get much great use of thse pads also with it being in winter.
  2. It's happened quite a few times now matt, it's just rediculas now days, you cna't even walk round anywere without a constant 'What you looking at ?' and 'Do you wanna smack ? ' it just dissapoints me that it gets like this around here. And most trials riders in heanor bikes are exactly cheap bike either it's just not worth the risk of getting it stolen from you.
  3. Sorry to be blunt but most of that is bullshit(using your words there, and enlighten me on how mineral oil will become dust after 5 years then?
  4. Is that a se racing quadangle frame by any chance ?
  5. Mine were and still are crap . Never gonna get them again.
  6. i found mine terrible . they lacked lock in wet and dry, and wear rate was less than desireable really, it looks like my wheel has been coated in tar in order to make it work . I wasn't terribly impressed with them really.
  7. Thanks for the quick replies it really helps Cheers lads and ladesses.
  8. Hiya i got an eno of my mate today and the lockring is kind fudged, because of his cousins less desired handy skills with a centerpunch. So i was wondering wether you can get replacement lockrings for the eno freewheel ? Sorry for the crap quality pics as it was taken from my webcam .
  9. It could be viewed as a combined review really as tom (tom-trials) is pretty new to the trials world and me and liam (baseguy) have a better technical grasp of things than him . ( i personally would have reviewed this but i wasn't able to go out tonite as 1. i couldn't be bothered. 2. We was having a chinese.)
  10. yes i understand what you mean, but the force will be evenly spread working on more of an area and putting less stress onto the rim theoretically. But also if this was the case wouldn't most pad manufactorours (sp.... ) be making all their pads in 35mm backings, as it is a competitive market with pads always being bought and manfactorours fighting to get there pads widely used.
  11. Yeah i'd like to see how they perform in the cnc'd backings maybe that would be a worth a try. yes but shouldn't the amount of contact area have something to do with it also ? So guess its time to work out the area of contact each pad has so length =35mm and say width is about 11mm so 35*11=385mm2 this x2 = total contact area = 770mm2 length =50mm width 11mm 50*11=550mm2 this x2 which would equal total contact area so 1100mm2 so therefore if my calculations are correct the 50mm will provide a more powerful brake.
  12. No i have used both of these pads and zoo's absolutly anihilate the tenisle pads, there is no way that the tensile are softer, well not in my experiance anyway,in my opinion they should make the tensile pads in 50mm backings also . TRUE !!! Also you can get rimjam red on ebay for just over a tenner. (if your struggling to find them ) Edit: was bored so found the link for them
  13. These seem really soft and wouldn't budge at all even when backhopping quite heavily immense pads in my mind anyway .
  14. Well i called in at supercycles today so my friend (tom-trials) could get a tensile freewheel and there they was on a zoot with 35mm pads on front and 50mm length on the back, at first i thought they were plaz crm pads(why in super cycles i do not know) but went to squeeze the lever and they make a little sqidging-squeking noise as they touch the rim(this is while stationary) so i came to the conclusion they wern't as only soft compund pads make this kind of noise. So as you do you try them out...Well they were absolutly great held extremely well on a smooth rim, they almost feel quite hard on the lever, they are on par(or better) than zoo pads for use on smooth rims, but i think that with a little tar on a light grind these pads will be immense, also they should make quite a nice squeek. So i asked the guy about them and he said they will be out very soon as they are just creating the packaging for them. I will definatly be investing in a pair of the 50mm long pads when they are released so will my mates as we agreed on earlier.
  15. I think its say to say that repitable trials brands are crap at making decent bmx's.
  16. I don't realy know much about hubs but surely thats shite if it does that so when your free coasting to your next spot and you try to pedal all you get is loads of almighty clunks, doesn't exactly motivate me to get one at all, any ways is this the second era of the hub or was it the first one as i t was said they took them back to the drawing board ? Didn't they ? Enlighten us biff.
  17. not quite though been as there is a model up if you can afford to , go for the v12, the pedal is totally rebuildable ,pins, bearings the lot great pedals, light as well . Cost around £50 from crc.
  18. At Aspire velotech you can pick up a king for around £180 with free postage and no import tax as he says its bearings or something like that .Enjoy .
  19. Bmx now has : Khe prism cranks Maxx daddys T-raptor now has : single speed conversion kit new front tyre silver maggie lever balde
  20. zoo bars seem to be on just about every ones bike you see all my mates have them, and most others i see run them aswell , must be good
  21. People these days , surely you should get a replacement pair if they have snapped, if they don't show them the gash on your leg for the sympathy vote it usually works.
  22. Why not try and brake the mould of zoo , get a zona zenith they look well nice and only £299 with a chris king headset. They look like very sturdy frames and should last quite a while aswell, kinda like a koxx but not made of breadsticks and cheese.
  23. oh yeah kool, what was cracking of with that dude in the little yellow car ?
  24. Heya , well i went to the ymsa round at bracken rocks today it was organised well etc i've spoke to a couple of others aswell as my mates and we feel that the sections were too hard especially with the new rule set, also the idea of three seperate cards did my nut in going right back down to the carpark and then all the way back up the hill, by the time you had got to the section you were nakered, also they need to make it so that you either hand your card in or not for all sections as you were left stumped whether or not to hand you card into the observer. Any others thoughts feelings on this matter would be appreicieated (sp.. )and any agreements/disagreements with what i have posted will be dandy. But also many thanks to the organisers and observurs and anyone who helped throughout the day it had a great atmosphere.
  25. Was you at ymsa ( bracken rocks) today im sure i saw that in the boot of a car ?
